  1. Do you have Social Security Number

    If so, Use that instead.......

No SSN until AOS which we are just getting ready to file.

So I will file W7 with Federal Form to get ITIN.

Not sure what I need to do with State Tax Form.

They also require SSN or ITIN.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi All,

I just wanted to thank VJ and all here for helping my fiance and I get through this close to 8 month K1 process.

I almost hired an attorney... but I followed all instructions here and had no problems :-)

My fiance had her interview on Aug 27 and received Visa on Sept 16.

    Counseling completed next day.

    PAL NAIA-LAX Oct 6.

    Just a few thoughts...

    NOA1 - NOA2 5 months of pure torture

    After that everything moved quickly.

Do the Doc Verification as soon as you get case number. We did DV on Aug 6 and USEM did not receive until Sept 5.

Then another 11 days until delivery.

No problem with the counseling but use St Mary's so you get everything done same day.

Need less to say we are very excited but at the same time it is bittersweet because we know many others are waiting, some who had interview before my fiance. The DV process is very slow. I can't stress enough to pay DV as soon as you get case number. I hate to say this but I almost think it would be better if USEM did not schedule interviews until DV is complete.

My fiance and I believed that after the interview we were very close to finished but ended up waiting another 2 weeks.

I wish everybody going through this process good luck and best wishes :-)

    Craig & Theresa

  4. Hi,

I have heard that rumor also but so far I have not been able to confirm.

We are in almost exact same situation as you.

I also called Sept 8 and was told Doc Verification was received by Embassy on Sept 5 but that it was going to take another 3-6 weeks before release.

She told me call back weekly to check status.

All we can do is wait.

Good luck to all of us :-)

  5. We are in the same boat.

Interview Aug 27 Pink Slip only.

Told us we would have Visa 7-10 days.

Called and told it could be another 3 - 6 weeks.

    DV at USEM Sept 5.

Told to try calling back every week to get status.

    Just have to wait.

    Ughhhhhhh...

Hang in there.. you are not alone.

hi guys, i just found out that NSO sent back my DV to the USEM last aug 22. i dont know when will i get my visa? any ideas?

Hi!same case as mine..my DV was forwarded to USEM last friday(sep5)only and i dont know how long it will take to wait for our visa to release i think i should just wait and cross my finger that our visa will release this week just hoping ;) Goodluck to us!God is Good..

  6. Hi All,

Just a note to everyone about my experience regarding the Document Verification Process.

My fiance had her interview at the Embassy on Aug 27. At that time she was given Pink Slip and told 7-10 days before she receive K1 Visa. Yipee!!! So I am thinking okay she will be here in USA end of next week.

Wait a second... nope... that won't be the case.

After reading the Forum here and reading posts concerning the consistent problems with Delbros, NOS, USEM and the Document Verification process I thought I better call the Embassy in Manila and get the status of the Visa.

Sure enough I was told Document Verification had not been completed and it could be 3-6 weeks before Visa would be issued depending on whether or not they needed any further Documentation.

    Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    Unbelievable.

Can't do anything but wait again...

Sort of just venting here but thought I would let all know that passing the interview isn't the end of the road.

Good Luck to all who are currently going through the process :-)

  7. Hi All,

Ok... I'm gonna do the K1 without an attorney. I have looked over VJ and think I have the brain power necessary to do it.

I don't want to sound like a sissy but it sure would be nice to be able to find someone/ones who would assist me on my way. Preferably somebody who is successfully on there way with the process.

Just to email when I have doubts or minor questions.

Of course I won't hold anyone responsible for any advice :-)

VJ looks great and I want to thank all who have greeted me.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  8. Hi,

    New member here.

Just getting started on the K1 process to bring fiance from Philippines.

Needless to say it all seems very intimidating and I am still in the early stages regarding whether to file myself or hire an attorney.

Would be great to hear from others who have brought their fiance here from the Phils.

Hello to everybody and happy holidays.
