  1. Hi There,

Does anyone know what time of the day the SMS text message arrives regarding the courier sending the Visa? We are so anxious to get the visa by Friday as my wife wants to hand her notice in at work and we can start making plans

The waiting is killing us…..(We submitted one missing piece of paperwork last Wednesday).

    Thanks for your help..

    Regards,

    Polarsub..

  2. I hope some of you can spare your experience with us. I had my interview at the American embassy in London on Friday June 27th. (My wife is a US citizen living and working here). We were asked to get one last piece of paperwork to them that had to come from the USA and we sent the required info back to them on Wednesday 2nd July. My question is, does anyone have an experience on how long it will take before the visa arrives. We are very anxious to get the visa by this week as my wife wants to hand her notice in at work and the timing will be perfect. I have been told it’s around five days, but wondered if it’s longer because of the Courier service being used.

I hope you can let me know if you have information.

    Many Thanks for your help.

    Paul

  3. Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have my interview in London this coming Friday and need to get two pictures/photo's together. Can anyone tell me if they will accept normal style passport pictures or are they strict to comply with the 2 inch square picture as indicated on their website. Also, any interview experiences in London would be a great help to me if you care to share them with me.

    Thanks for your time…

    Regards,

  5. Hi There,

I had my medical in London two weeks ago today and my interview is set for June 27th. My question is do you get anything through the post to say the medical is ok and that you will not require another chest x-ray as I’ve heard that sometimes you are called for a second x-ray. I hope this makes sense and basically just need to know if you get a letter to say everything is fine and your results are sent to the embassy or is it a case of no news is good news?

    Thanks for you help….

  6. Maybe I should have explained myself a little better. I am a UK citizen and my fiancé was born in the UK, but lived in the USA for 12 years and is now a duel citizen. She has lived with me in the UK for the last two years and now we are getting married and plan to get a spouse visa for myself in order to move to the USA. We are collating our information to submit and my police certificate shows the above. Thanks

  7. I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. My fiance is British, but is an American national. We both live in the UK and are getting Married this month and will be applying for a Spouse vise.

I've just recieved my police certificate which shows the only conviction on there which is from over 20 years ago when I was 19 years of age. The crime was criminal damage and I was fined £50. That is the only conviction I've ever had. Do you see this being a problem and also, do I require any other info from the court archive to send in with the police certificate regarding this crime.

    Thank you for your time.

    Regards,

    Paul

  8. Hi everyone at VJ. This is my first post so hope you guys can help me out as much as possible.

My scenario is this: My partner has USA/UK dual citizenship and moved from the USA 18 months ago to live with me in the UK and we are now engaged.

We plan to move back to the USA early 2008, but are not sure weather the quicker option would be to file for a Fiancé visa I-129F and get married in the USA or file for a Spouse visa I-130 and get married in the UK first. We will be filing DCF through London as we are resident in the UK.

Please could anyone advise the quickest timescale to get the Visa (i.e.: Through Fiancé or Spouse) and also any other information that you might think beneficial to make this application run smoothly and efficiently. I have already applied for my police certificate. Is there anything else I can do to stop any sticking points?

Thanks in advance for your help…

    Regards,

    Paul.
