  1. I am in a similar situation.

I (usc) applied for my mother in June to the chicago lockbox, and in July there was an RFE which I sent right away.

On August 20th the case was transferred to CSC from NSC and has not even been touched yet

I am wondering the same thing, is my priority date June or August 20th when it was transferred to CSC? Because if it is June, there should have been some movement on the case, but there hasn't been.

I hope someone can offer some advice, I will appreciate that.

  2. i am a usc , i have lived here since 94', my mom and i came in to the country as visitors and stayed here ever since, I'm currently 23, married and a firefighter / paramedic in Florida. My mom has never had any paperwork. Can i file an I130 while she is here?

CAN AN OVERSTAY APPLY FOR DOCUMENTS WHILE SHE IS IN THE US? I AM LOST, PLEASE HELP?

As far as I know from reading some other forums, parents of USC, even overstay ones, can apply for adjustment of status.

  3. CSC received my mothers case in August (I130/I485) - It was transferred from NVC. It still has not been touched

:help: Can someone please tell me how long it takes for a parents I130 to get approved? :help:

This is a totally frustrating experience :angry::angry:

Welcome first of all to a great forum....you should try to fill in your timeline but to answer your question is somewhat hard for alot of us now...no one really knows but hopefully they will get back in order after the first of year. Keep in mind that there are quite a few of us here that have filed for our spouses to be here in August forward and have not received our NOA1's as of todays date. I see that your case is a little different than most of ours, but still the backlogs are there for all.

Wishing you the best and also additional patience ...

    Cheers

    Susie

Thank you, SusieK. I am sorry I was just venting in my earlier post. I appreciate your response.

Here is something I just can't seem to get an answer for in any forum - I filed back in June and in early July there was an RFE which I responded to immediately. The case resumed in Mid July, and in early August it was transferred to CSC. My question is when the CSC received my case does my priority date change to August or does it remain the July date when the case resumed or June when they received the case.

BTW where do I fill in my timeline? Thanks for any responses.

  4. Hello all, I am new to this forum, and I am really hoping someone here can answer my questions.

I filed for my mom in June 07 - (I130/I485).

In early July, there was an RFE (concerning I-864), which I sent immediately. By mid-July, the case resumed.

In August, I got a letter informing me that my case had been transferred to CSC (for faster processing).

Since then, the status of my application has not changed. It still says "case is pending to where it was

transferred". It has not even been touched :( since then.

I would like to know, when a case is transferred, does the priority date of the case get changed to where it

was transferred, or does it remain the same as when they received the RFE?

Please help if you are aware of this. Thanks in advance.

Note this is a common thing with AOS cases lately, cases transfered from NBC to CSC are deemed to be simple ones not needing an interview, this usualy gets approved without interview. However if the adjudicating officer at CSC decides an interview, the case will be sent to local field office for an interview.

They may also be waiting for I-130 to be approved.

Only pain about CSC processing is no knowing if case is stuck in a name check. Give it a bit more time and then you may want to schedule an Info-pass appointment at your field office and ask what is up with the case.

Thanks YuAndDan for the quick response. This is truly a frustrating process, specially with the flood of applications the CSC received. What's more frustrating is I saw some posts on other forums and their parents applications have been approved already with similar dates as mine. Gotta wait...
