  1. Perfect. Thanks Also, do we need to translate birth/marriage certificates etc for the interview? I read on this forum and on the immigration website that if it is either in the native language (where also the interview is) or English (or both), there is no need for, but the consulate in Amsterdam clearly states in their pre-interview checklist that you must bring an English translation.
  2. Alright! Thanks. I'm getting the W2 of the spouse as well. Another question: my wife is the petitioner, but we do not use her foreign income obviously. Does she still need to upload three years of taxes? Somehow 2021 taxes are not showing and it shows a letter of verification (that she has not filed). Something must have gone wrong and we just activated her ID.ME account for the first time. 2022 and 2020 are there. Since we are not using her income and putting in zero for those years, can I safely assume most recent tax year is sufficient in our case? Thank you so much
  3. Yes, that's clearly stated: MFJ Like I said we're only using joint sponsor individual income, since that is sufficcient. I am only filing i864a to make sure CO is satisfied with spouse's consent Hence, my thought is that the W2 for the spouse is not going to add anything, since the joint sponsor Tax Return + W2 + paystubs demonstrates sufficient income. You seem to be very certain, could you point out some topics where your statement is supported? Maybe @pushbrk can say something too? Thank you.
  4. As per title. The income of this spouse is not used, since i864 joint sponsor is by far over the poverty line. We have Tax Return Copies (MFJ) + W2 joint sponsor. Do we need the spouse's W2 as well? Also, is the MFJ Tax Return Copy enough proof of their relationship, since they cannot file mfj if not married? For people that don't know why I am using the i864a: officers have been asking for this to see written consent by the spouse to use a share of the household income to support the immigrant, hence I prepare for this.
  5. Two years nowadays. "Important: Police certificates expire after two years, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued." Ref: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html
  6. @Jason and May that's a great explanation. Thank you for that! I hope this also helps others. This also exposes my misunderstanding: I thought the transcript had more detail to it than the return copy, but I was wrong!
  7. Maybe good to specific the code name of that full federal tax return? Many other users (like me) are beneficiaries and I have no experience with the US tax system. It's very easy to get terminology mixed up. My understanding is that a Tax Transcript is more detailed than a copy of Tax Return. You are talking about a Full Federal Tax Return. Is that a 1040?
  8. Thank you for elaborating. This is the first case I see where you had to submit all of that. Many cases the transcript+W2+1099 is sufficient - specifically when we're talking about joint sponsor + joint sponsor spouse. Also your quoted text actually says "you should send the W2 and 1099 when married and filed jointly", but not to send the copy of return (just the transcript). Anyways, good that things worked out.
  9. I did read that topic. However, the whole forum advises to send Tax Transcript + W2 + 1099 and now after this isolated case the advise is to send the less detailed Tax Returns? I don't really get it. It's only throwing confusion for anybody on this forum
  10. Yes. I will file for both joint sponsor and her spouse the joint filed Tax Transcript, W2s and 1099s + all other documents
  11. Thanks for explaining. Yes, I know that they should not have to do that. However, many times people needed to show the i864a of the spouse of the joint sponsor IF they filed jointly. Therefore I am planning on just submitting the spouses i864a to be safe. Out of that, my question came: does the spouse of the joint sponsor also need to file the W2s and 1099 (which I'll just file to be sure).
  12. Invidivual. That's why I thought the Transcript in combination with the W2s would give a clear cut of income, thus qualification. I will get the spouses W2 and 1099 for sure as well. That's no big deal. B
  13. Thank you! This was helpful. So you also had to submit tax returns and schedules? Next to transcript, W2 and 1099? Maybe I am misunderstanding the terminology. Could you elaborate?
  14. Perfect! Thanks. I missed that topic. So, I'll submit W2 and 1099 for both joint sponsor and her spouse. But that topic owner also talks about tax returns and schedules. Maybe I am misunderstanding the terminology, but that's not needed right? Or is a W2 a schedule?
  15. As per title. Does the spouse need to provide a W2 in this case? It's unclear to me.
  16. No big deal. Ideally I wanted to omit one middle name because I don't like it, but obviously (and unfortunately) it doesn't match the passport 100% so it might cause problema.
  17. The name in my passport is correct. I just only filled in one middle name on the ds260. That's all.
  18. Alright. Will I have to change anything on the DS260 or will the officer at the interview correct it?
  19. Passport says "Joe Maria Theodore Last name" But as I said, I would like to leave out Maria
  20. Hi all, I just submitted the ds260, but I left out a middle name because I ideally don't want it on my GC. Let's say the name is Joe Maria Theodore Last name, I wrote Joe Theodore Last name. Will this cause an issue? I really dread having two names and one of them is Maria.
