  1. My fiancee was granted the k1 visa, she came to the states and we recently got married.

I am moving across country for a job and we now have to change our address. We just sent our adjustment of status forms (I-485) two weeks ago.

Which name do we use when we update our address online? Do I use her maiden name (the one that is in their database), or her new hyphenated last name??

Also, do I need to change my address with the USCIS as well??

    Thanks for the help!

  2. There is no vaccination "supplement". There is the form I-693 which includes a vaccination section. That vaccination section has to be filled out by a "Civil Surgeon".

If your exam was done recently (less than 1 year ago), you won't need to repeat the whole exam. But with the new rules regarding vaccinations and TB testing coming into effect in June and August, you will have to get the new vaccines and TB test (if not done overseas), and then get the vaccination section filled out and part 5 signed.

    Read this whole thread: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

Look at the table at the bottom to give you an idea of what you need to do.

my wife took the health exam between june and july 31st in krakow. According to the chart - she doesnt need to get the new vaccines?

Does this mean we dont need to file the I-693(a) for the AOS??

  3. We are adjusting my wife's status after our marriage.

I had some questions about the I-864 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT:

    1) Do I need to have the document notorized?

    2) #25: Federal income tax return information:

I was living in poland for the past three years.

the first year (fiscal 2005) I filed because I also worked in the states

The second year (fiscal 2006) I didn't file because I only made the equivilant of $10,000 all overseas

The third year (fiscal 007) I filed.

Should I check the first box and include information?

Should I provide a letter explaining why I didn't file in 2006? Should I get some documentation from my previous employer during that year?

thanks for any and all help you can provide!

    Thank you in advance.

  4. Can you use the I-131 for travel overseas for multiple times or only a single trip....?

    -Peter

    Hi again Peter,

My husband just got his, it says that it is good for multiple entries into the US whilst it is valid (and it is valid for 1 year).

    Hope that helps.

    B

THANKS! I NOTICED ON THE APPLICATION THAT THEY ASKED WHEN YOU PLANNED TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY.

  5. My fiancee is now in America (thanks everyone for your help), and we are getting married next month. After the wedding we will file the AOS. How long after we file the AOS and EAD will she be allowed to work? We heard rumors of 3-4 months!!! That is crazy. Please let me know what you have experienced......

On a different note, I have some foreign friends who come to the states on work or study and end up getting married and living in the states during this process. We decided to go the route of the fiancee visa whist she was in Poland and I was in the states becuase we thought it was the better way. I am not seeing any benefit from doing the fiancee visa anymore! My fiancee had a tourist visa for 10 years. I am thinking it would have been better finacially and emotionally to have had her just come over and get married whilst on the tourst visa.

What are the benefits of first doing the fiancee visa v.s. coming to the states on another visa and getting married?

  6. My fiancee arrived in the states two weeks ago, and was unable to get the work stamp through LAX. Therefore she is waiting around until we get married, and then she will work.

She has been to America many times as a student working for the summer. She was issued a Social Security Number - on the card is written "FOR WORK USE ONLY."

Does anybody know if she can work because she has this card, even though she didnt get the work permit stamp whilst passing through immigration? :help:

it seems that after you are married you have the gov't issue your fiance(e) a SSN, then file the paperwork to be allowed to work.

any info on this topic is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the help in the past!!!!!!!

  7. My fiancee entered the states through LAX last week. She asked for the temporary work permit stamp and the officer shook his head "yes" and continued checking her documents and entering information into the system. she said he "typed for a long time."

I am concerned because I dont think she actually got the temporary work stamp.

    My questions:

    1) is the temporary work stamp an actual stamp, or do they enter this data into the system?

    2) in this situation where she asked the officer and he said "yes," can we go to the immigration office in our city and ask for a stamp - or can this only be done at the airport?

Thanks for all your help so far.

    Thank you in advance.

  8. I was in Poland from the middle of Dec 2005 - July 2006 traveling and spending time with my fiancee and brother, and then oficially moved to Poland in August 2006.

Since I was pretty much living with my brother at this time, should I list this under "residence in the last five years," or should I put my registered address in The states for this time period?

    Thanks in advance.

  9. I am an American working in Poland and I make about the minimum required by the states to support someone (18k-right?). It is not for sure since I am a teacher and my income varies. I am getting a sponser just in case.

I have a question about question #11 on the form. It asks the sponsor whether or not they intend to make specific contributions. Does it hurt me if my sponser puts "no"?

I am following the sample document where the person didn't "x" a box, but put: "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )"

My finacee and I are saving a lot of money and wont really extra assistance. I am just asking for a sponser to be safe. What do you guys think??

    thanks in advance!

  10. My fiancee swears that when she filled out tourist VISA applications with the embassy in Krakow, they asked her to fill in EVERY box with "none" or "N/A". For example:

Former wives/husbands Family name first name date of birth date and place of marriage

    NONE NONE NONE NONE

Is this correct? or should we only answer "none" for the first questions, and leave the further details blank?

  11. I am currently filling out the I-134. My situation is this: I am an english teacher living in Poland with my fiancee. I am an american citizen, she is a polish citizen. I asked my mom to fill out the I-134 (because I dont currently have a lot of money in the bank, nor a job in America).

    My questions:

    1) Should I have my mom fill out one of these forms for each of us? (one for me and one for my fiancee)

    2) Can (or should I) used polish characters on these forms. (I noticed on the other forms they only want you to use the native characters in the specified places)

thanks for your help in advance. This is a great website and has been a lot of help for all those little things!

  12. I red the following on this website about how to put together all the documents for the I-129F for initial submition. I am having a hard time figuring out how to send it. My idea was to put it in a folder with two prongs on the sides. Whole-punch the documents, add tabs, and secure the folder. Would this qualify? I guess I dont really have a clear understanding of how to put the documents together. Anyone have any good tips, or suggestions - or can anyone tell me what they did??

Thank you - I am new to all this and dont want to make any mistakes!!

    -Peter :help:

"In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:

    a. Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.

    b. Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

    c. The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing."

  13. Thanks again for everyone who has helped me so far. I do have another question.

When including photos as proof of meeting and/or ongoing relationship when filing the I-129F, what are the rules regarding this? I planned on printing out the photos in a word document. Is this ok, or should i get copies from a developer? Should I name and date them and explain where we are?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!

  14. I had a question for those people living in Poland. I currently live in Poland and earn polish currency. The payment for the K-1 VISA needs to be in American dollars. Does anybody have any suggestions how I can get a money order or something like this in American currency? Does anyone know if the government accepts other payments besides check or money order??

    Thanks for the help!

    -Peter

  15. HI!

I am starting the process to apply for the fiancee visa. I have a few simple questions:

    Can anybody help?

    Form G-325a

When filling out the applicant’s residence for the last five years, I have to include where I am living now, which is in poland. We dont have provinces nor states, but regions. Should I type N/A in this space, or the english translation of the region?

Also, My last address outside the states is my current address. Should I also list this below? I have lived here for more than a year.

    And the dumbest question..........

The question “this form is submitted in connection wtih an application for....”

Naturalization, “other”, status as a permanent resident.

    What do I put here?

Thanks for your help in advance.

    -Peter
