If your local office is Nashville, you'll probably have to go there for the interview. As far as I know, all naturalization applicants have to go through the interview/civics test.

Finally, I had an email from USCIS today saying they've scheduled my oath ceremony! It's only been 6 weeks since my interview but I was starting to freak out that I hadn't heard anything. Hopefully I'll get my letter soon!

Wow, I haven't checked this thread in a while but it looks like congratulations are in order for many of you!

I'm still waiting for my oath letter and freaking out slightly. It seems like most people who've interviewed after I did have their oath dates already. My IO told me my oath ceremony would probably be June 23rd but I never got a letter... should I be freaking out that something is wrong or am I overreacting??

What is the typical time frame between the interview and receiving the oath ceremony letter? At my interview the IO told me my oath ceremony would likely be June 23 -- next Thursday. It's been two weeks since my interview and since June 23 is only 6 days away I doubt that will be my date if I haven't received my letter yet. Does it usually take a while for the letter to arrive?

DaisyLynn, that's awesome that your husband's oath ceremony is part of the July 4th celebrations. That will make the day even more special and memorable for you all

Yeah, I was relieved to not have to make the drive again, although I think some people have to drive way further to their nearest USCIS field office! I'm in Miamisburg.

I had my interview today! The IO went through my application with me, then asked me to read "Who is on the dollar bill?" and write "Washington is on the dollar bill." He then asked me the civics questions -- and it seemed like he only asked me 6 or 7. After that he told me my application was approved and I will receive my oath ceremony letter in the mail. He said it was likely that my oath would be June 23rd!

So yay!!! Only one more step to go!

No updates from the NYC USCIS office. The last info I received was that they were processing cases from September 13, 2010.

Received my interview letter today, dated 4/29. My interview is June 3rd! I tried to add myself but the formatting was all wrong.

Just received an email that my case was transferred to my local office! Hoping I'll get my interview letter soon

I'm still in the naturalization process so I haven't applied for a passport yet but I'm curious... did many of you apply for the book AND card? Or did you go with one or the other? I guess it depends what travel you plan on doing, but as far as I can see, on the off chance I drove into Mexico or Canada, wouldn't a passport book be enough? Is there a point to the card for people who plan on flying overseas 99 percent of the time? I imagine it's easier to carry around and all but I wonder if that's a reason to pay an extra $30?

Sent application today (3/14) to the Phoenix lockbox.

If you have an Iphone or I touch, you can down load the app for about 2 or 3 bucks.....has all the same questions as in the booklet you get during the Biometrics...very convenient.

Or save your 2 bucks and just use the booklet from the FP

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an up-to-date study guide for the citizenship test. Being a little obsessive, I want to make sure I am totally prepared when I file for citizenship at the end of this month. There are a bunch of guides on Amazon but I was hoping for some advice from people who have purchased similar guides.

I'm writing an article describing how to check your immigration status using an A number. I know from experience that the USCIS website allows you to check your case status using your receipt number, but is there any way to check immigration status online with an A#? Any help would be appreciated!

From your timeline, it looks like you have not yet applied to adjust status. If this is the case, I believe you will have to wait until you have something to prove you need a SSN... either your EAD or green card. I had to wait until I got my EAD to get my SSN, and then it was restricted.

If you have either EAD or green card, then you should check "legal alien allowed to work".
