  1. We are waiting since june 5 and... nothing yet. :(

same day as Oscar and I and Virgillionaire........It seems to be a bad time to of filed.......I should of filed in July...Oh well it is what it is.......bad bad BAD........

everything going to be alright...

I have been checking all day and things have been slow on the approval front I am sad to say. I truly believe that the VsC is working bass-ackwards through the filings and that your time will come very soon Virgil, Lora and everyone else who is still waiting. I know how hard it is to keep the faith. I was near the end of my rope. Hold on tight, it will come. It just stinks to have to go through all of this.

  2. This makes me angry. It is your Congressman's duty to stick up for your rights. Fax them the thing off the website saying 6 months and that this is total BS. Do the RFE trick to get through to a VSC officer who will realize that this WAY OUT of the processing time.

Make them answer to their own posted date. Your congressmen should be doing something for you at the least. If not, I have to admit, I would be so irate in your position, I would probably just threaten everyone with lawsuits. (ya don't wanna piss me off ... :) ).

Tell them the story of my father .... that _literally_ one can croak in the time it takes to get a visa. Now, he won't be there for my marriage because it took so long.

I feel for you because you're a May filer, and I really feel we got a raw deal. While I don't advocate becoming irate like me, because I'm not sure it would be productive, somehow channel your frustration into just demanding some results from your public servants.

    Gail

For any May filers who have not heard anything yet, I truly recommend calling and complaining that they're past their 6 month deadline posted on the website. There is no excuse for >180 days. (not that there's one for over 90 days even)

Our Case Status Online system, processing times, and Change of Address Online system will be out-of-service for system upgrades from 9:30 PM Eastern time Friday December 7 until approximately 8:00 PM Monday December 12. In addition, our Search engine and Naturalization Self-Test will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance on Sunday, Dec. 9 from midnight to 6 AM

well on top of 187 days of nothing....I guess I do not have to kill myself checking all weekend........I am dying

Oh I have called and written......congressman Senator's, omsbudsman, congressional liasons, newspapers, called t.v. stations and even went to the Department of homeland security and tried to make an appointment..........what everyone said is the same.....they answer to no one......When I called after I past my 180 days and 6 calender months I was told they are processing May 19......on November 14 was told they were processing May 24th...they went backwards so I am within there processing times.....which is not 6 months it is whatever they feel like......It sucks being in this situation with no recourse........I hope this does not happen to anyone else because this is killing me.........

    OsLoraTamm,

You might want to try the RFE trick but trick them a little bit. Dont enter your case number into the system, when you get to a live person, just tell them that you wanted some general info, ie, what is their current processing date. Every time I have called, even with several on the same day, I never get the same date twice. My guess is that they are looking at your case when you enter the case number and then backdating quickly to keep you under the 6 month timeline. If they dont know your case number, then they cant do that and you may be able to catch them in their lie.

Then you can get a pair of pliers, and a blow torch and get midevel on thier asses.

Hi Lora. It totally suc%s that you (and so many others) are still waiting. While I am not sure that it would be helpful with flexible truth coming out of the VsC, perhaps you can point to the following next time you speak with someone there:

    "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

    Vermont Service Center Processing Dates

    Posted November 14, 2007

The processing times shown below are a tool for our customers to gauge our current processing times. When applications and petitions are completed within our target timeframes, that goal will be shown in the data display.

The processing times shown below are for applications that have just been completed."

This comes from the USCIS' own November 14 application processing statement at the top of the first page. Further down, it shows "6 months" for the I-129F petitions. By my reading, that means that as of November 14 USCIS had "just completed" May 14 petitions. If they say that they are only on May 19, that means that they have made only five days of progress on petitions in the past 22 days.

That may not be too helpful now but these reports typically come out on the 14th or 15th of each month. Goodness knows that we all hope that you and the others are approved before then. However, if someone from our time period is still waiting on December 15 and is on with a "service" rep there is no credible way for the rep to maintain that they are working on new, non-RFE filings filed prior to June 15. (Of course, this assumes that VsC shows "6 months" again on its table. They have been true to this approach for well into '06 although previously they identified a particular date 6 months back.)

All that being said, catching them with this would be a small victory and pales in significance to the real issue at hand.

Hang in there all of you May and June filers still waiting. We are here with you.

  3. Hey Y'all. I finally got a touch today. Its been 173 days for me. I really hope that means that the VsC is serious about cleaning up the backlog from May/June. Time to update the timeline. I really hope that the rest of you who are waiting without a touch are in the same crate as myself. Am I correct that the approvals have been going from later June to earlier in June over the past week or so? If that is the case, then perhaps the reviewer is progressing through a crate in reverse order of receipt?

I was thinking that myself so Virgil and I are at the bottom together......See I told you Virgil.........the only touching that has happened on our petition has been between them....hahahahahaha....this has been a tough day for me and my humor has gotten worse as the day has gone on........I had to leave the other thread for a while....too much cheering and happiness.......so I come here to pout......sorry guys

Feel free to pout Lora..this is the perfect spot for it.....

Abyss....im sure that your touch is going to be good news....

Thanks for the good wishes. They came through. The approval notice was in the email this morning.

While I am very much relieved, I am still hopping mad at the wait, the red tape and all the other trouble that we have been going through. I will still be working my Federal representatives for change and a hearing.

Hang in there Lora, Virgil and all other waiting. I know that it is dark right now but there is hope. It just suc%s that VsC continues to process out of order.

I am off to work where I cannot write to the forums but I will be watching and hoping for you.

  4. Howdy Everyone. Once again today, I thought I was going blind. Like last night's touch that led me to question my eyesight, the email this morning again made me do the same. My approval came in. Finally. Finally. Finally.

I am hoping, wishing and praying that this is a trend for us long waiters and that this step will be complete for all of us very, very soon.

I am off to work now where I cannot write to the forums but I am hoping for all of you.

    Ciao!!!

  6. Anybody else have experiences with getting staffers of your u.s. reps or senators to help? Mine fed me what uscis is feeding them that they are 'frontlogged' due to the price increase. So why are they skipping ahead then? Duh?

I told her july is getting approved mostly now and she listened and said she would mail me the result of her inquiry. But I have a bad feeling she'll write something brilliant like vsc is up to may 20 or that they are doing in order they receive!!

It's funny I emailed a few months ago about another issue with the case and they were eager to help even though I didn't need it, now it felt like I was somehow wrong to feel I'm overdue.

Oh well, guess I'll try the ombudsman's complaint form.

Can't fight city hall I guess, what a country

Hey Dude is it just you and me left here unapproved and untouched.......like a virgin....hahahahahahahahahaha....that has been a long time.....hahaha...o.k. now I have sick humour......OMG....OMG....OMG.....what the he11 is this #######.......augh

    Hey Lora and Virgil,

My congresswoman's staffer has been nice but not willing to go beyond "protocals" and so she says that we must wait until the end of this month do "take the next step" - whatever that is. My two senators have not gotten back to me for over a week now since I first wrote them. I am begining to believe that we are hostages to the system. Learned helplessness? Perhaps so.

On the bright side, I finally received a touch this evening at about 5 p.m. EST. When I checked the screen for the 10,000th time today my eyes almost fell out of my head when I finally saw a change. I am very p!ss@d off that I am still waiting but it is nice to know that there is some movement over there. I still cannot believe that the USCIS is working on July when there are filers like us still out here. I truly hope that we are in the same crate so that you can get at least a bit of relief as well.

I cringe when I think that we will have to deal with these bozos again down the road. I am not going to let up on my congressional officials until they lift the cover on this debacle.

  7. CONGRATULATIONS FAITH!!! AND THE OTHER APPROVEES :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

    :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Am I the only one left without a touch in 6 months? Guess I have cooties

Nope I am still around with no touches...no nothing........I am having one of those days again

Darn, I thought i was special :) I hear you, it feels kind of hopeless and endless ... but tomorrow I am calling my senator and asking for the inquiry. I hope at least they can get a real answer. I think I'll try the ombudsman's complaint form in Amrsnowangel's june filers thread too. I am not going to bother to call VSC right now - I can see them telling me there up to may 15 or something. YEAH RIGHT!

Touch me VSC!! I didn't mean it when I called you worthless slackers and %^%&*&&$#@!

Well they never listen to us any other time.....I am sure they did not here that either....Or when I said I hated the @#*&^%$##$%^ holes.......Hahahahah......Like I said before the only thing that is touching my petition is probably your petition...in some box on some idiots desk.......they lie alot

I must say that I am heartened by the great pace but it is mighty dispiriting at the same time. Like you, I have not had any touches lately and, no doubt, my file lies with yours at the bottom of some guy's filing drawer next to a rotting apple and a copy of Maxim.

To all of you who have been recently approved - a hearty congratulations! Hopefully, we will have our time to dance too soon.

I must say, I wish I had taken part with all of you earlier. The support here is amazing. Unfortunately, I cannot write to the forums at work due to company policy but it sure is great to keep up with the daily developments and victories.

Times are tough for Sara and I but it is heartening to know that there are others of you who understand what we are feeling and stand with us whether or not you have already been approved.

  8. This is getting ridiculous...I called USCIS again. They received the RFE info...seems some people get an answer asap...we haven't gotten so much as a touch. She told me to try back in 60 days. So, yeah, we do that and by the time we get an answer our petition is no good because we have surpassed the 90 days. Thinking I should cancel and just go through the K3...at least we would be married.

Hi Jamie. I am not sure I understand - what is the 90 day period you are referring to? What is its significance?

I am seriously considering cancelling as well. Might be time for me to move to England.

    Thanks.

Jamie, I just saw your other posting. I am sorry that things are not working out. This is tragic. No need to answer my questions.

I hope everything works out for you. Best wishes to you both.

  10. Hi Lora. It seems like more and more of us are finding our way to this forum. I appreciate your gusto and I would really enjoy being there when you visit the DoHS in Washington. The incompetance of the USCIS is so bad it is tragic. I wonder if anyone in DoHS has taken notice. I guarantee that if the USCIS functioned in the real business world they would have all been fired by now. Its good to know that my tax dollars and my fees are going towards keeping such a disfunctional entity alive.

As my 180th day is coming up in 12 days I would really like to know how your call with "customer service" goes. I have little hope for any help from them. Sara and I are already talking about my moving to London instead of her coming here. If we cannot get any answers from them in the very near term I am going to start looking to see if I can transfer my job over there.

  11. Hi Y'all. I am new to this wonderful website. Like many of you, I am a mid June filer with no touches of note (one touch early on at the end of June). I share your sentiments about how messed up the system is and I feel the roller coaster taking me lower and lower every day. Sara, my fiance', is stressing about this heavily and this forced separation is weighing on us greatly. Our relationship is wonderful and we will weather this storm but this is one we should never have to endure.

There are a few things I'd like to share -

-My lawyer's paralegal finally broke down after much prodding early this week and called the VSC (oh yes, "Service" is our middle name!!!!). She was told that they were currently processing applications dated May 19th and that they are averaging one day's filings per day. My response to the paralegal was that the VsC person was being "less than genuine" with her due to the fact that petitions are being handled totally out of order. Her response:

-My congresswoman sent in a letter on my behalf early in November (3 weeks after her staffer promised me that she would). Yesterday, I asked her staffer to inquire again as nothing at all had happened. She said that they now must wait until the end of December to call due to "Congressional protocals". That sounds bogus to me.

-On Wednesday, I wrote both Senators and I have not yet heard anything from them. They will certainly be getting calls on Monday a.m.

As my peition is rapidly approaching the 180 day mark, I am wondering what effect if any will my calling the VsC on the 180th day? Do any of you have experience with this? If so, will it do me any good or will I just get told to call back in 30 days?

Last, I just want to say that I am very impressed with the great support that all of you have provided to eachother. Just reading posts the last few days has been inspiring.
