Is anyone else having problems printing out the DS-230 form? Whenever I print, the fields that I typed in are black. I know this is more of a technical problem, but I'm hoping someone can help. Thanks.

Hello,
These might be simple questions and I might sound like an idiot, but I want to be sure if I'm filling this form out correct or not. We've got our first interview at the US Embassy in Tokyo to submit the I-130, G-325, and I-864 forms in 3 weeks.
Background: I'm a US citizen and my wife is Japanese. We are both living in Japan. I'm sponsoring my wife and my father will be the joint sponsor. We will relocate to my parents home in the US.
I read that if your current income is from employment overseas, it'll won't be of use to me, so with that said I'm using my current savings(in Japan) as assets which is just over the minimum requirements. In case that's not enough to satisfy the requirments, my father will be the joint sponsor. Any advice on how I should fill out some of the questions on the I-864 form?
1. Which should I tick on question #1. (A) I'm the petitioner or (E) I'm the first on two sponsors.
2. Because we plan to live with my parents when we arrive in the States, should I put my parents address for question # 12(mailing address) and #13(Place of Residence) or put my current overseas address?
I know these seem like easy questions to answer, but I want to be sure. Your help would be much appreciated. A big thanks in advance.

I'm a American living and working in Tokyo and have a Japanese wife (less than 2 years). We plan to relocate back to the states so we're in the process of filling the I-130, I-864, DS-230 forms. If I don't have a job lined up back in the states, what's the best way to establish domicile and to fullfill the financial requirments? Should I use my parents address in the states as my domicile, and have them be a joint sponsor? I have just enough money in my bank accounts to meet the finacial requirements, but I won't have a continuing income until I find a job. Is anyone or was anyone in the same situation as us. Your experience or advice would be much appriciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I just finished the visa process for my wife at the Embassy in Tokyo and from our experience it was very lenient. I too had to file one of my tax years late, but fortunately my transcripts were adjusted on time. Everyone we talked to at the Embassy was very understanding and helpful. They even made some corrections on my I-864 when we submitted the I-130. I'm sure with copies of your tax returns and a written explination would be fine.
On another note, the whole visa process took only about 2 months. It would of taken only 1 1/2 months if we applied for the final interview earlier. Applying for a spousal visa at the US Embassy in Tokyo is definately the way to go. Good luck.
