  1. Nope, ITR needs not be notarized, only the Affidavit of Support or Form I-134. Good luck...

I got a message from a Compnay that helped processed our K1 Visa and state their to have the 2007 ITR first page should be notarized. . .

Do they really require this in the embassy during interview???

Because i have a thick record of his ITR in my hands right now , My fiance gave that to me while we are in Hongkong for a short vacation but it isnt notarized. . .

    Pls advice me. . .

    Thanks a lot!!!

  2. It's computer-generated, maybe that's why. Don't worry, just relax. I'm sure your fiancee will receive the right packet. God bless...

Thanks for your reply, I already was aware of this thats why the confusion, even with I told the person on the phone they no longer use packet 3, she said that is what their system is showing.
  3. My sister sent her N400 application to California Service Center - July 17, 2007

    Biometrics done - September 5, 2007

    Interview Schedule - April 26, 2008

Had been wondering why there was no update in the USCIS website about her case. She already received a copy of the interview schedule through the mail, but if I inquire from the USCIS website, her case has no update at all. It still says that the application has been received and pending. The last update actually was August 18, 2007, perhaps the date when they scheduled her biometrics appointment. Guess USCIS is really busy....

  4. Please read the difference between packet 3 and 4 below. . When I received my packet, that was september of 2006, it contained instuctions and appointment dates. They called it packet 4. Perhaps they sent the packet 4 to your fiancee, as they don't send packet 3 anymore.

Here is the link where I copied the paragraph. Hope this helps.

"Although the IV packet system has served well for over forty years with relatively few changes, the ease with which information can now be maintained and shared electronically makes the linear, rationed approach to immigrant visa information less useful. The numbered packets, many of which are no longer used by consular sections and rarely seen by applicants, were also the source of some confusion. The numbered packet system has therefore been eliminated. Packets 1, 2, 2a and 3a no longer exist. Standardized information sheets should be used to respond to queries as discussed below. The old Packet 3 has now been renamed the "Instruction Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants." Packet 4 is referred to as the "Appointment Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants." Packet 4a, important as the mailing that initiates the termination process, is now referred to as the "Follow-Up Instruction Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants."

Hello just got off the phone with DOS asking about the appointment issue (they have no clue) had to inform her and she went to the USEM website to read it. But as we talked she said the Packet 3 was sent out yesterday to my fiancée, I thought they only send out packet 4 in the Philippines. I'm I wrong do they send out packet 3? And yes I have read the Manila Embassy K-1 visa guide. Thanks in advance for reply.
  5. Congratulations...

Hi everybody in this forum...So happy to inform that I got an approval during my March 12 interview at the Manila Embassy. I will share my experience how it went later. One thing I can say it was very easy...I will post more later.. :dancing: God bless everyone!!
  6. That's great news. Congrats and good luck to your fiancee's interview..

Hello fellow VJ'ers, first time newbe here. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to post this message, but I have to ask for some adivice. My fiance went for her medical yesterday, all was ok except the x-ray. She had to take 3 different x-rays because the doctor "saw something",but she wasn't specific. She told that it was a "spot" I don't know what the full details are as of yet, because its hard to talk to a crying woman :( My question is that say it a type of lymphoma,is that grounds to deny a visa?? She is going back to the doctor tommorrow.

I understand that communicable diseases are, I.E. t/b, aids ect but this?? I have good medical coverage and now want to get over here faster than ever to nip this in the butt. ANY HELP / OPINIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!! thanks

***************UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE**********

Well I guess my fiance passed her medical, she went back the following day,her x-rays were released to her and given back. Her interview was confirmed for Mach 11,2008. She did not have to take the sputnum test or any other. The passport was forwarded to the embassy,so I think this is a reall good sign. Thank GOD,hopefully all goes well :) THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INPUT :)

  7. Here is the link to the Illinois DMV site. You'll find all the things you need to know in applying for a driver's lincense here: Good luck... http://www.dmv.org/il-illinois/apply-license.php

    hi,

I want to know what are the steps involved in getting a driving license in Illinois. Do i have to fill out a form with all the documents and pay the fees, then obtain an instruction permit and then go ahead and give the written test for it.

    Please help

    Jigi

  8. Only the Form I-134 is required to be originals, but if your fiancee has the originals, then she can bring them with her, just in case the CO wants to look at them. They didn't ask about my original documents during my interview, though. And all the documents that you sent when you filed for the petition would be sent to Embassy, once your case is approved. Good luck...

    Greetings!

I've mailed, along with my I-134, all the originals of everything included with my I-129f to my fiancée, including things like boarding passes, cards, letters, my (expired) driver's license, etc....

It's been over two weeks since I mailed it. Usually things only take a week to get there... I'm starting to get slightly nervous that it may have been lost.

Will she actually NEED the originals of what was submitted with the initial petition? Or is that something VJ just recommends to be on the safe side? I figure worst case scenario, I can always fill out another I-134, but the originals in this packet are not replaceable. Trying not to be too paranoid, since I know the mail system can be unpredictable, especially with customs involved, but just want to be prepared (I tend to be unlucky).. Was curious if anyone has had experience with the originals being requested at the interview.

    Thanks!

  9. I hand carried mine and I lost it at the NAIA before I boarded the plane. I only found out when I already boarded the next plane to my POE. I was so nervous that I wasn't able to sleep, from Narita (Japan) Airport to my POE which was Houston, Texas. Well, they didn't ask for my X-ray film, I didn't need it. Some say that you can just laminate it when you get here, hahaha.. I guess, you can just put it in your checked-in luggage. The result of your X-ray is already included in the sealed envelope which will be opened at your POE, so no need for them to look at your X-ray film...

any experiences on what should be done with the xray? is it okay if the xray will be checked in with your luggage?
  10. CONGRATULATIONS. Your AOS was approved without an interview.. Your GC is underway..

My husband and I got this email Friday:

and after this email, we got another one that said that the production of his card had been ordered. What's up with the interview? I guess the welcome letter will tell us what to do?

  11. It took exactly 6 months from VSC!

    May 31 - NOA 1

    June 15 - Biometrics

Nov 30 - Card Production Ordered

The interesting thing was that two weeks prior to the card production ordered update, our 3+ year old fiance visa case had been touched. . . two weeks after that the I-751 got approved. I seen other people mention the same thing so maybe that means your cases are getting ready to be approved soon as well!

    Best wishes to all!

    Rob

    Congratulations..

  12. I had my interview yesterday afternoon. I was scheduled for 7.30 a.m. and I guess my judgment was wrong in arriving 6.45 a.m. because the place was packed and I had to wait long to get my number.

    *Screening

The Filipina screener was nice. She just asked who is my petitioner, how we met and when was the last time we saw each other and a couple of personal questions that are easy to answer. She only requested for the usual documents:

    1. NSO BC

    2. Cenomar

    3. NBI Clearance

    4. Affidavit of Support

    5. Tax Forms

    6. Pictures

    * Consul Interview

A female consul interviewed me. She was very nice and friendly. She asked how we met, have I met his family, do I plan to work immediately and she did a bit of small talk about the weather and my fiance.

*I think it's better to go early so you wont have to wait until the lunch break is over. Also bring in cookies or water if you think you easily get hungry. I saw some people with biscuits and water with them. I'm just not sure if they just sneaked it in or it's allowed.

*Don't worry too much. They're just confirming the information you sent them :) If you have the necessary documents to prove your genuine relationship

you'll be fine. Always smile, it breaks barriers :)

    Congratulations.

  13. Sorry to hear this. And thanks for sharing the experience. It will help us who will soon be applying for the removal of conditions. Good luck and God bless...

I filled I-751 at VSC on Nov 15th 2006. Got NOA Dec 1st 2006 and fingerprinted Jan 2nd 2007. Waiting....waiting....waiting... Starting from June 2007 I repeatedly and until Nov 5th 2007 checked the website and called 800 number to find out that nothing new had come and the case was pending normally.

Guess what; on Nov 5th 2007 I got a DENIAL letter stating I didn't reply to RFE they had sent me in June 2007.

Guess what more; the receipt number on the denial did not match the receipt number on my first NOA, the number I checked online all the Time. And guess a little bit more. The state abbreviation in my address for Delaware was printed NJ .

I went to INS office and a very nice lady told me that all those “small” mistakes happen. The letter is received by zip code. The receipt number doesn’t have to be the same.

    I should file a new I-751.

After filling a New I-751 on Nov 13th 2007 I got a new NOA Nov 20th 2007. As me and my wife have purchased tickets for the Christmas holidays to Europe our dreams for traveling were shattered. I went to INS office again with the new NOA and the same very nice lady stamped my passport, extending I-551 for additional 1 year and stated that I can work.

But she did point to me: NO TRAVELLING!!!

Now I am waiting for FP notice.

On Nov 29th 2007 I also filled I-290B...Motion to reopen. Because I never received any RFE. I'm now waiting.....waiting....

    Regards,

    KAKA

  14. We were approved for our k1 this morning at the London Embassy. So nerve racking at first. The process was quite easy actually. They asked three questions and that was that. They did not make an effort to review any tax forms, just took copies. Looked at a few things pertaining to pictures and cards back and forth from one another and such and that was it. THIS IS THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER! at this point we are looking at an 18th of December flight.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS and BEST WISHES TO THOSE THAT ARE HAVING INTERVIEWS BEFORE CHRISTMAS

    Congrats....

  15. My Fiance entered the US on November 27th at Minneapolis and they never asked for her X-Ray Film? The Customs Official just said "later" when she asked if she should give it to them. Were they suppose to take it or do we keep it?

Just keep it. I lost mine at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and was so worried that they might ask for it at my POE but nobody did.

  16. Hi, we got approved only this Nov. 30, I know there's still so much to wait. My question is: My hubby visited me here in the philippines May of 2006 and we got married june of the same year. Would it be a problem in my interview if he just visited me here once? Coz we're just being practical, he just bought a house last april, so, ....... plus the fact that in the next few months, I'll be preparing for the interview, medical etc,, and plain ticket, thus I need money for that. Any help?

    Thanks.

No, it won't be a problem if he visited you only once. The CO will be more concerned on the genuiness of your relationship.

  17. My wife being from the Philippines I am curious if there are others out there who also love to eat the heads of the fish?

I do love to eat fish heads. For me, they are the best part of a fish.. :)

  18. Hi All

    Ryan here from the UK

I have not been on here in sooooo long (so long in fact, that my needed to make a new account hehe)

Just thought I would give an update on my situation

My wife and I got married last June, and in September last year she moved over to the UK

We finally caved recently and decided to start the process to get a green card via DCF as she will be much happier being close to family, and I think my job prospects will be a fair bit better (my family all live abroad already, so its no big deal for me!)

We filed and got an email confirmation saying they received our I-130 on the 30th October 2007

    So here we begin... :)

Congratulations and best wishes to you and your wife. Good luck and God bless...

  19. Something I learn yesterday upon calling their 800 number (1-800-) regarding RFE such that the customer rep. told me how RFE is fairly normal. As a matter of fact, the RFE might request the same materials you've already sent in because the application package might have switch hands to various people, and at times evidence items might get loss. So there you go, your hard earn tax dollar working at its best

In our case, we failed to include the Form 1099 for my husband's Income Tax Return. And though we already sent them the recent Income Tax Return, they still included that in the RFE.

  20. Im getting ready to send US Dollars to a dollar account to the philippines. I have signed up to send online at PNB Remittance. Has anyone here used this service? and is it reliable/accurate? THANKS~ david

My husband and I are using this service to send my mom's financial support, and yes, it is reliable and accurate. My husband has also used this before when I was still in the Philippines to send me money for my VISA and Medical fees.

You should have mailed your documents via registered or certified mail with return receipt, that way you would be able to track if your documents were received or not.
