The consulate always returns original documents whether the visa is approved or not. They gave us ours at the interview along with the approval notice. It means they are finished with any need for the original documents you submitted. It is not an indication of approval or not.

why they do administrative processing at the embassy? they put me on the administrative process becuase i was not having joint sponsor documents at the time of interview and i send them on the 29 oct but i am still on administrative process, i dont know when that process will be completed? and how long it can take, all my other stuffs are completed but at the time of interview they ask me two new pictures and joint sponsor along with the supporting documents, so can some one tell me how long does it to process a joint sponsor forms and after how long they will call me and ask for my passport, or they would ask for something else again? i am sick of this stressful and long process, i send the jointsponsor w-2's, passport copy, pay slip, her tax returns forms and i-864 form and two pictures of myself, i hope they dont ask me something else that we need this,and i am praying that this administrative process get done soon, caz it sucks, really sucks, any body have been through the administrative? anyway to get out of this process sooner?

AP is a regular thing at ISL, you must wait out the time... dun be frustrated ... just be patient, they will call u for the visa when they r ready.

AP is necessary for many obvious reasons. For national security reasons and others. Plus, you were missing some essential docs.

We had to wait SIXTEEN months for no reason, our docs were compelete nothing missing but his name was stuck in clearance... there are reasons why they do AP and it is time consuming .

Divert your attention and concentrate on other goals in life.

Finally.................. m done w/USCIS for 2 yrs=)))

My fiance , now my husband, alhumduLillah!, was stuck in AP for 16 mons, finally received visa April of this yr, arrived -->May, we were wedded in June, applied for AOS end of July and finally rec'vd an email update that w/wc to US letter n w/card production order.................

now i can rest for 2 yrs before we go for removing condition=)

Per your earlier post, your case has a red flag which must require further Admin processing due to the confusion of your father... how could your father not know if you are married or engaged??? why did he get confused?? Despite the fact that you seldom visit them, but given the culture you are raised in, parents usually know wat their kids r upto...... Given the facts you have provided i must suggest to you that .... be prepared to wait. They might do some additional field work.... God knows if your father's interview had a negative/positive impact on your case...

Additionally you are a male thus security clearance might delay the decision further.

45 days is not enuff... w/out any red flags, without any missing docs, for an unknown reason we had to wait 16 months for our visa... because my fiance had a common name... so wait a few more months... there is no definite wait time for ISL.

Hey guys, I have a question for everyone who was approved at Islamabad. I have applied for a K1 and just received my NOA2. I was wondering, on the I-134, question 11, how many of you guys wrote "N/A K1 visa process for permanent residence"? This is what was written in the example form. I have read some threads discussing this question, but I would like to know specifically for Isl. Thanks in advance.

On USCIS site in my portfolio I have my green card application and my naturalization application and my IR/CR1 application for my wife.

My green card application was touched last in 2002. and my IR/CR1 had last touch sept 09 2009.

Today when i checked My green card application last apdated date changed to OCT 25 2009. and my IR/CR1 application was not touched. So i wonder why they are touching old application instead of IR/CR1 application, i dont understand. Can anyone please shed some light on this.

The Ir1/Cr1 is the I-130, which is the green card. What is the name of the application that you are calling the green card, is it the I129F?

The green card application means my green card which was approved in 2002. and IR/CR1 which i filed for my wife in sept 2009.

instead of touching my wife's ir/cr1 , my green card application which was approved in 2002 was touched.

WHy are they touching what files only they know... touch doesn't mean anything. Maybe they are reviewing your green card application for your citizenship? or verifying your GC status for your wife's visa? maybe it's just a system update? God knows what these touches mean ! my opnion...Touch doesn't mean anything, no decision .. maybe just a routine update? some1 looked in your file for whatever reason?! Don't stress over this... when they are done reviewing your citizenship app they will let you know... or when there is a decision on your wife's case you sure will get an email notification / postal letter...

AP fee is included w/the AOS. $1,010 is inclusive of AP fee. You need not to apply for AP w/AOS but you MUST pay the fee for it.

This was as of end of July 2009, i am sure it is the same now.

Did your petitioner complete an i-864?

Secondly if you do not attach a W-2 / 1099 w/your tax return you need to submit a tax transcript. your joint sponser doesn't have 1099 from rental income ?if so call IRS and obtain a copy of his/her transcript for past 3 yrs.

hi every one, can some one tell me, that the embassy would accept scan AOS form? caz the mail take long time and sometime the mail come to our town after one month or longer than that, would they be able to accept the scann copy of AOS for joint sponsor? please let me know as soon as someone can tell me that, caz i did my interview yesterday and they asked for a joint sponsor caz i was under the poverty guideline, so i really want to know about this,

i doubt it. email the embassy and ask.. but i think u shuld mail the forms .. they might want a copy w/orginal signature

I might have confused some of you. She is in US already on her fiancee visa. I need to document her documents for AOS.

K-1 doesn't require AOS applicants to re-do medical (unless expired) You attach a copy w/your I-485 along with all other documentations. If you have not yet applied for AOS read the instructions on how to adjust status and what documents to submit. You do not send anything to your local office yet unless requested by local office.

^you will provide the affidavit of support at the NVC(National Visa Center) stage.. USCIS would approve the case and send it to NVC, thats where you provide the rest of the documents.

K-1 still goes through ISL not NVC. So, above is inaccurate. You will provide I864 w/package 3.5, once approved, your case will be transferred from NVC to ISL, ISL will post mail you a package w/couple of forms and I-864 will be one of them. It's good to be prepared for it in advance.

As for pics you take them w/you to the interview.

Hello Everyone. We have almost completed the package will file the petition soon InshaAllah. Just wanted to double check if all the docs are complete. We have the following docs ready

1- I-129F

2-G-235A (for both)

3- Affidavit of support

4- Letter of intent

5- Few pictures

6- Photocopies of passport with stamps (We met last year in Dubai so the stamp dates will prove that we met last year)

7- Affidavit of Support(co-sponsor)

Is there anything that needs to be attached or we are good to go?

One more thing, what do you guys think will be a rough figure, how long will the whole process take? according to my observation with AP it should be around a year. is that correct or it can take longer?

why are you filing affavd. of support w/USCIS ??? unless they have changed the filing .. but we didn't have to file affavid. of support w/I129f. i m sure u have read the instructions.

you do not need to send in any pics at this point but yes proof of meeting is a must.

what about copy of your birth cert /naturalization cert (petitioner's proof of citizenship)??

For pakistani applicants one never knows which way is faster k-3 or i130... because many males end up getting stuck in Admin processing for months on K-3 and meanwhile loose the i-130 and then come to US on k-3 after waiting for mons or some yr(s) AFTER the interview...and then start w/AOS and then once again the process begins.

So dun expect k-3 to be a faster route..i,e if the applicant is a male, however one might be lucky and get the visa right away! It's all luck w/pakistan

As for I-130 cancelation ,... i dun think it wuld effect your AOS

Per my experience and research of past 3 yrs....police certification does have an expiration date some expires w/in 3 mons othera 6mons. It might be country specific. i.e pakistanis are required to have a PCC w/expiration date.

My fiance's Admin processing took 16 months. we submitted his pcc b4 interview, after the completion of AP (16mons after) he was requested to re-submit his PCC.

If you read Islambad's forum u will come to find out that most of the PCC expires from 3-6mons, and the applicant is required to re-submit the PCC. This might be only for Pakistani citizen since Pak is on top of T-26 nations.

Calm down, immigration is not an easy process, it requires extreme levels of patience and tolerance. American citizens are given a special privilege, there is a long wait, thousands and thousand applying everyday, this is a v v complicated and stressful process. Anger will only hurt yourself.

Well I just looked at this thread and got to know that its all about Islamabad embassy. Glad.

My husband had his interview in the end of July and some documents were missing. He was told to send the documents and will be called in two weeks. Its been over two weeks now. And I am getting concerned. It may be due to my crazy hormone level towards the end of my pregnancy which is the reason I need him here badly,for all the necessary emotional and medical support.

It's funny how all you ladies anticipate AP for your spouses .... you already have an "AP timeline" even b4 an interview.... indeed it is good 2 be prepared for the worst=) I must say you all must consider yourself lucky that most of the APs nowdays are lasting few months=)

Well, he made it in safely on August 18th Alhamdulillah. He says POE at JFK was a disaster for him. They kept him for 5 hours and were very rude to him. They asked him very horrible and personal questions too and he was very offended. He almost missed the shuttle to La Guardia. At any rate he is here by the Grace of Almighty Allah. How are all of you doing?
