  1. Maybe she just dont know how to express herself or she's trying to explain things to you in her own way.Filipinas are known for being shy and not that expressive.maybe you need to learn how to interpret her actions in order to understand her better and be more patient dealing with her.you cannot just make her understand things the way you want her to be,it'll take time.you two should talk things out, regarding going to places sometimes that you didnt know of,maybe she thought it's ok with you.

open communication always work best in any relationship :)

  2. I have been calling USEM the whole day today hoping I can have my interview be scheduled, I called using 109 and 108 but it says my call is not permitted, I also tried calling 1-909-101-7878 and it says " the number is incorrect"? now what? is there any other ways to call them. I am using TOUCH MOBILE service, and I just bought a prepaid card for that. please let me know what are the other options I can make to get through their line. thanks ahead.

You can just use either smart or pldt postpaid landlines when calling either USEM,109 or 108.if you dont have it,you may want to go to any pldt business office near you and they will be glad to assist you.

    Good luck :)

Ohhh ok, that is why. thank you

1 909 will get you southern California. What is the country code you are trying to dial?

International numbers have to have the right country codes

Hi,she dont need to dial any country code when dialing USEM number.1909 is the prefix number assigned to some embassies here in the Philippines followed by a 7digit number.she just need to use either smart or pldt postpaid landlines :)

    Thanks for answering that question.

You're welcome.i used to be one of those 109 and 108 operators who connect people to USEM and to any parts of the world that's why i knew ;) and im glad i am able to help you and the other members here.

Aha now I know that I am talking to a former operator hehe, thanks really. Have a nice day!

  3. I am currently gathering info for all of the "fees -- where and how to." Was looking for the BPI account of USEM but to no avail. Do they have one or I will just go directly to the bank in-charge and tell them that I will pay the visa fee?

    :help:

    -Riza

here are the accredited bpi branches and citibank office where you can pay your visa

    CITIBANK and BPI

  7. I was trying to reach USEM w/ this # 1-909-101-7878(im located in the Phil) since yesterday but its always a busy tone. Is there another way to reach them?

Another question, did u pay the Application Fee in BPI first or contact the Visa Information services to schedule your interview?

Either call 109 or 108,just tell the operator that you'll be calling for USEM,they will just ask for your name and push through with the call.If you want to find out how much it will cost you,you can inform the operator before they connect you that you need the TIME and CHARGES :)

    Good luck!

  8. can i use a mobile phone that i bought here in the philippines.. like use it when i move to the US? :(

Sure you can but make sure it's dual or triband so it could work in the US fine  .and if you'll be using a sim from here, just like what Mae have said,u have to enable its roaming feature.

    have a great day :)

  13. hi guys,,,im a newbie here in this site...and im starting to gather the requirements that we need for the papers(specifically K-I Visa)...and theres 1 thing that makes me confuse...my husband has been divorce 2 times...so we want to know if we really need the two divorce papers or just the last marriage that he has.....need some answer for this guyz....hope to hear from you...

Divorce papers from any previous marriage will need to be included with the petition .. good luck on your journey

so how he could get that divorce papers because his maried before in Georgia while he was deployed there..& now his back to Oklahoma....do you have any idea guys how we could get that?because its a quite long trip going there and one more thing his so much busy for the drills and trainings for now...thnks guys for that info..

You can always order online, just ask him what state and court did they file and what year.as for my fiance,i was the one who ordered online,i even emailed them.it only took 10days for them to have it delivered to him his divorce decree,it only cost him less than $20.

    good luck :)

  14. If she is using a prepaid phone,i think a 300 worth of air time would be good.

To call the USEM,you should use a postpaid phone and not a prepaid one.another thing, operators from the US embassy is trained to talk slowly so she better be upfront and state her reason for calling.if she dont have a direct dial service, she will have to use the assitance of pldt operator(109/108),she can inform the operator to call her back for the time and charges so she'll know how much will she pay for that call.

a prepaid cellphone can call USEM, even the USCIS hotline. not only postpaid can call those numbers.

really?have you tried it?i used to work in pldt for so many years and we were the ones who connect to USEM once the subscribers asked for our assistance, and just a few days ago,i talked to my former co worker and she said you can still not use prepaid cards and cellphones when dialling the USEM number, but if you have recently contacted them using your cellphone and other prepaid cards then that'll be good.

Yep, I've tried it. I tried to call USEM on my cellphone because my cellphone is postpaid, registered under Smart telecommunications, and it doesnt work at all. I couldnt contact them, but when I dialed on our landline, I was able to. So I guess cellphones dont work. I was really surprised when I couldnt contact USEM because I have even called the US on my cellphone and it works, so I dont know why it doesnt when I tried to call USEM.

Yes,here in the Philippines, you cant call USEM by simply using prepaid cards not even a prepaid phones because that is considered an overseas call, you've got to have a DDD(DIrect Distance Dialing) to call it or call the operator's assistance for them to dial it for you but using the operator will cost you too much since you have to pay for a Vat plus more than 50pesos per minute plus surcharge. If the OP's fiancee doesnt have a direct dial at home, she can always go to any pldt business office and call there.as for my estimation, she'll be needing less than $70 to make a call,so i guess it will be cheaper if the call will be coming from the US.just my opinion.

  16. She will just need the certified true copy if her father has no record in NSO,if she has NSO copy, she could just go to the nearest NSO office and bring the photocopy of her father's BC and submit it together with the application form and the Php125.00 payment.anyway,USEM dont need the Certified true copy. But 15,000 pesos for an ommited letter?somebody's trying to milk you out of money.i just had a correction of my name at Manila City Hall, with 2 consecutive weeks of publishing in the local newspaper and i paid only less than a total of 4,000pesos.as for her case,i guess it will just cost her less than Php2,000 in case she'll have it corrected.
