  1. It has been a long time since I have been on VJ.

Spent the last two and a half years loving life with my lovely wife and kids.

Filed for AOS and went through a painless interview and were granted green cards.

All of the prayers have been answered.

Keep heart. Keep faith. Keep going.

There is an end in sight and it is a good one.

    God bless all of you.

  2. Wow, it has been forever since I have been on VJ. My beautiful wife and children have been with me for over a year now and those dark days of waiting seem so long ago. I just wanted to encourage all of you to hang in there. God will hear your prayers and move things forward for you. We were faced with a situation whereby the approvals and the immigration of my wife and children were going to be absolutely impossible. Divine intervention changed it all in a whirlwind and in ten days time we went from "no way" to picking her up at the airport. Please do not lose faith and hope. It is worth it all in the end and you will have so much more appreciation for your spouse. My prayers for all of you. :star::thumbs:

  3. Please allow me to confess and testify to God's awesome power and grace. He has been with my wife and I every step of the way and has overcome all barriers in both countries on our behalf. All glory and honor to Him who knew us before we were born and has been with us all along. Pray, ask, pledge your life to His will and you will find the most powerful advocate you can ever imagine.

  4. (L) Today is the medical exam day for "My Honey" and I'm waiting to hear how everything went. I have exactly 11 days before I leave for Peru.:dance: Its so exciting but, I feel like its a dream but, I guess reality will hit when I step off the plane into "My Honey" arms shortly!!!!:dance:

wow when you stay offline for a while things change fast. Congratulations and God's blessings on you both !

  5. Oh how I love a praise report! Indeed, the Almighty has bestowed on you His blessings and rewarded you for your faithfulness. I could not imagine going through this process without Him .

CONGRATULATIONS to the both of you !

Thank you so much. This has actually worked to increase my faith and belief instead of the obvious purpose of defeating and dehumanizing us. I will witness the miracles He has visited on us to all the world.

God bless you and keep you.

  6. Hello and congratulations!

I have a question when you mention the cildren K-4 viss, you did have to apply for those separately did you? Were they automatically issued after your wife got her K-3 visa?

    Thanks.

They were listed on the I-129f so they were automatically included in her petition. They were issued at the same time wothout a seperate application.

  7. Alright its official... Hubby is flying on Wednesday... and will be here on Wednesday night !!! His POE will be ATL!!! 6 more days ! Im doing the countdown!!! I will keep you all posted as the days go by! I gotta clean my house, get my nails done, by groceries ! tooo exciting!

The tears of joy are streaming down my face literally. My wife just received her K-3 and is coming next week. I am so happy for you both. What a start to 2008 !

  8. My lovely wife has been granted her k-3 visa and my step-children their k-4's and they are on the way home.

Every obstacle that was thrown up in front of us was overcome by prayer. It was purely and solely the divine intervention of the Almighty that we are now to be reunited. I will give more details after she is safely in my arms but I must tell you that prayer and prayer alone has sustained us and delivered us from this ordeal.

All of you are in my heart and prayers. Do not give up. Have faith !. They may be able to strip us of dignity and pride but they can never take our hope and faith.

God Bless all of us VJer's and thank you all.

Now is the time to move for real immigration reform and make this process humane to families.

As she stood in front of the US embassy, visas in hand, weeping to me on the phone and asking me to pray with her to thank God I knew that there is hope for us all.

  9. I had called them...nothing...not in their system yet...that was their respond. I had email them about 10 days ago and I had finally got email back from them today saying that my case is still not there. I don't know what to say anymore.

God bless you and hang in there. I am so heartbroken because we had a special situation that really required quick action. My congressman's office has been calling twice a day. You are almost there. Keep the faith and know that you are in my prayers. I am trying to be lighthearted because I have had to adjust my timeline for when I see my beloved wife again. I will be with her. Love cannot be defeated. I boldly predict that within the next 7 days you will find your info has been forwarded to the embassy.

Oh. by the way, My congressman's office has just today figured out that we all get fed a line of BS on this and they are actually angry. Maybe....................

  10. Well this story am sure i have seen it before, a couple of weeks ago, can't remember but it is the same. First i felt sorry for the lady, now i feel like it is a troll.

Sorry this is my opinion on the same story posted twice so far.

    Good luck !

This post is actually 4 weeks old, so you are probably relating the same post to the same post. She is not a troll... I have had an inkling of exactly who this person was from the moment I read this post and she is ligitimate. The fact she does not want to disclose her normal screen name is her choice.

I wish her the best on this journey, no matter which route she decides to take.

The thing is that sometimes a small amount of money goes a long way in a poor country. What we could spend in a fast food restaurant could feed a family for a week. You are very rich. (not here of course) You have to shop for a weeks worth of food at a time ! It may or may not have anything to do with your relationship or your marriage but to a man without food the man with table scraps is indeed living high on the hog.

Listen to your heart, listen to your head, listen to your God and then decide. Only you know which culture you have married into. Please don't get hurt but please also don't break two hearts by failing to realize that just because you are in a better financial situation does not mean that that is your only attractive feature. Do not be blind either.

Wow. That was helpful ! I think if I straddled the fence any better on that one I would be picking splinters out for months.

  11. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the NVC hasnt done anything since the week before thanksgiving ?

What is wrong with these people ? Why in the hell would you get people's hopes up just to dash them with more bureaucratic BS.

The Pony Express was faster. Walking is faster.

Molasses is faster. Glaciers are faster. I finally believe in immigration reform but I guarantee that it is not the reform these "family values red-white-and-blue- God bless america flag waving a---holes are spouting about.

hang in there, just when u think you cant take it anymore something great happens! (that's what I tell myself anyway) and your post cracked me up btw.

Thanks. All I have left is my sense of humor. Oh, yeah I have a wife too but the country I fought for doesn't seem to recognize that. Anyway, thanks. you all are in my prayers lol !!

Hang in there. It's coming. I think all that tryprophan from the turkey and the football games must have lulled them to sleep from their usual frenzied activity of trying to reunite families. You are in my prayers

So is Haley's comet lol !!! Hang on, you are so close. Please hold your spouse tightly and never let go again !!!! In my prayers always

What I am saying though is that if you look at the timelines nothing has been done for any of us except one lucky (?!?)couple who have been waiting since September

  14. You can read through this thread and check out the chart I am keeping of recent SC to NVC sends: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93756

The average is about a week and a half to 2 from NOA2 to NVC receiving. They usually send it off in 2 days from NVC to embassy. Call NVC after two weeks and see if they have it (might take a little longer as you were dealing with Thanksgiving holiday in between).

You should be able to check similar timelines and find an average time from CSC to Embassy.

Thanks. I have been studying them but it seems that the delay has always been the CSC getting around to sending it to the NVC. I am now out of the CSC and on my way to NVC. I am hoping it doesn't sit in a box in the mailroom for two weeks at the NVC but I am told they are very efficient

    thanks urge.

I think we can get this translated into vj jargon lol

You filed an I-130 petition for relative for your spouse. It has languished in the bureaucracy somewhere and is still pending.

2 months ago you filed an I-129f for a K-3 visa.

The I-129f was designed to allow you to bring a fiance to the country on a K-1 visa, to marry and then file for immigrant status. It was expanded in 2001 to cover spouses and children.

The LIFE act which was designed to stop the long seperations of families created the K-3 visa. You must file an I-130 for immigrant status because your wife will definitely be an immigrant. That must be done first. (and you have done that) Then you file an I-129 petition for a K-3 visa. You use an I-129f petition because they never got around to designing the new form for spouse. (and you have done that)

The idea is that you can get a K-3 non-immigrant visa so your wife can come here while the 130 is being processed. It is only recently that they began to process them at the same time.

The upshot is that you can get an I-129f approved and get a K-3 visa for your wife while your 130 is still pending. That was the original design.

The downside is that it takes about 6 months from the filing date to get an approval. You are already 60 days into the process and it may go faster or it may not.

Your congressman's office is full of s---. Contact your senator and speak to a decent immigration attorney and have your application materials double checked and then hang on fot a frustrating, fearful and tearful ride.

Do not under any circumstances let this get the best of you. You have made a commitment and you can and will see it through. The fact is that in legal marriage scenarios very few petitions are denied.

    You are in my prayers.

  17. It is not clear to me reading through this if you have an approved petition yet from the CSC that has been sent to the State Dept. Is your problem with the CSC (USCIS), or with the State Dept, or with the embassy?? Why go back to PI at all??...go back to where you lived where you had legal residence??

Our petition was approved I believe on the 9th. Ihave the website confirmation of the mailing on the 16th but no hard copy yet. Ours is a time crunch at this point. It takes too long to get an approval to return to our previous location (6 weeks) so we are at the mercy of the transport from CSC to NVC. Once there we can move quickly.

  18. My wife and I applied in May of 2007 to the CSC. We did the 129/130 route and like many filers are stuck in limbo.

Due to our marriage being in a country that does not have an embassy we were told that by law we have to use the nearby embassy at PNG.

I retained a lawyer here in the states and was told that these were taking 2 months, 3 at the most.

With that in mind I came home in May and filed the petitions.

At the first of August my wife's contract expired and she went to PNG from our orginal country to wait out what should have been one more month.

She had a visa and was staying with her brother. It was for 60 days

At the end of 60 days we still had no answer.

I contacted the local congressmans office and was reassured that they were only too happy to help.

Our situation is complicated in that she is Filipina. She obtained a legal divorce in the country we were staying in. Her husband had disappeared some time before. (3 years). She was granted full custody of the children.

We were legally marriedin March. I left in May.

By God's help we were able to extend her visa by thirty days. That brought us to the end of October.

We still did not have an approval. Her visa expired on the thirtieth of the month and she was allowed again by divine intervention to remain there for the last few weeks.

As of now, we are still not approved. She must leave for the Philippines in a week.

As the Philippines does not recognize her right to divorce then our marriage is not recognized. Therefore it is doubtful

I will ever get her here. She will not be able to leave the country on a K-3 obviously.

We pleaded with the CSC for an exception. We have done all we can. They simply do not care.

Thank you USCIS. I have now lost forever the woman of my dreams as well as the two children to whom I am the only father they have ever known.

Anybody with any advice or help would be appreciated. :crying:

Sorry for all your troubles heartbroken.

I apologize because this is really not an advice. I'm just a bit curious on why didnt you file an annulment in the PI?

Although there is no divorce in the Philippines, the country allows annulment. With a lawyer, a little bit of patience, and little bit of dough, annulment is granted 99.9% of the time.

You then would have been able to file a K1 or get married in the PI and file a K3 if you so desire.

Fair enough question. We were going to do that eventually however since we were living outside the PI at the time and had been for several years we had no intention of having to go back there.
