I will add my 5 cents
We got approved on Dec 6 (according to the website) YAY! By the way, no email was sent to us even though we set up email notification. They received our case on July 31st and we got NOA1 issued on Aug 10, so 118 days since NOA2 – not bad at all
We filed at VCS.

Oh I see now! Name change - makes sense! It didn’t cross my mind because I (the beneficiary) never change my name when I got married, so my name still remains the same since birth. I guess in this case I won’t need to obtain and bring my marriage certificate?

If you ask me, it's kind of stupid to require the marriage certificate. Of course there was one of those if there is a divorce decree. It's redundant.
I know, that's what I am thinking too! But logic does not always apply, so... Sometimes it's better to just give them what they want and everyone will be happy
I will email the embassy though to double-check...

Thanks for your answers! I guess it's better to be safe than sorry and get a copy of the marraige certificate... Although I have no clue why they would need it if I have a divorce certificate...

Hello everybody!
Great site! Very helpful!
I have a question about the documents which fiancée is required to bring to the interview at the embassy. I know a copy of the Divorce Certificate for the previous marriage is needed. But what about a Marriage Certificate from the previous marriage??? I ran across this info on one site in a process descriptions section.
Did embassy request a copy of the Marriage Certificate for the previous marriage from anyone? Or is a Divorce Certificate enough?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hey guys!
Congratulations with your interviews and visas! I am going to Vancouver soon for mine too - on Feb 19th. I have a question to those who already went: does the interview take place in a common area through the window or are you being called to a private booth for one-on-one interview? I saw posts about interview being done both ways on this forum, but I the ones talking about interview in a general common room are older - from 2006. So did it change since then? Of course, I would rather have my interview at a priviate booth
Thank-you!
And good luck to those still waiting!
