  1. I am not an expert by far on this point but I'm at this portion of our process and I've not included that since my income is above the 125% poverty level. Is your fiance's above or below and that is why you are including the bank statements? I do know some banks depending how big they are do not have a way to do this. It's a pain but true.

My fiance's income is above the 125% poverty line. I also have on hand his last tax return.

  2. Hello,

I've just received my pack 3 and im trying to gather the correct information for application. My fiance has filled out his application of I-134 affidavit of support and sent me his supporting documents. However it states that you need a statement from an officer of the bank to give details of date account opened, total amount deposits for the year and present balance. My fiance has received this statement except it does not include his deposits in his account for the past year. The bank officer said it was going to be a problem as they didn't have the technology to automatically check deposits asap. He said he would have to manually check the deposits and then add up the total. Will this be a problem? Should I make my fiance go back to the bank and request for his deposit details? Or should I just send through what I have? Thanks for your help in advance.

  3. Hello all,

I've just received the service pack 3 in the mail and I'm confused as to what documents I need to fill out and send to the consulate, and what documents I need to keep and bring with me to the interview. It says to complete and return immediately form DS-2301. So do i send DS-2301 back on it's own first and send the remaining forms after I get my police certificate and my medical? Or is it best to send all the forms including the DS-2301 all in one go? Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. I have the same problem...I was born in a thailand refugee camp in the 1981 and no birth certificate was issued. I wrote to the united nations as they were running the camp and they issued me a letter confirming my birth details...it's the best i can come up with considering the thai government will not issue birth certificate to refugees. I'm hoping this will be sufficient for my visa application.

Your best bet is to contact the local office of your birth in vietnam and get them to issue you a new birth certificate or if that is not obtainable they need to write an official letter confirming your birth and stating why your birth certificate is unobtainable. As secondary evidence you need a letter from your parents preferably your mother also confirming your birth details. I hope this information was helpful....I understand what you're going through.

  5. Hello all! Im a newbie and my fiance has just recently filed a petition for I129f. I'm an australian citizen but my naturalization is cambodian but i was born in thailand in a refugee concentration camp. No birth certificate was issued to me as the camp was run by the united nations and the thai army. I have contacted the ministry of interior of thailand for my birth records but received no response. I also contacted the united nations regarding my birth details and they issued me with a detailed letter explaining that no birth certificates were ever issued to refugees born in thailand before 1993. They also stated that it was nearly impossible to receive a birth certificate from the thai government. However the un letter did comfirm my date of birth and that i was born in a refugee camp. I also have an expired humanitarian visa with a photo of me when i was 3years of age as proof of my birth. I was wondering would this be significant evidence of my birth?...and will my fiance and i still have a good chance of the visa being approved? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
