Came home yesterday (9/1) and the interview letter was there.... scheduled for 10/3 in San Francisco. Can you please update the timeline?
Thanks!

thanks for the replies. I'll try to be a little bit more patient and hope it arrives today or tomorrow then...!

What's the average wait time from when you get the email/text alert that you have been scheduled for an interview to when you actually receive the letter in the mail? I thought I usually got USCIS letters a few days later but we got the email alert last Friay that they had mailed the letter out and it still hasn't come in...knowing me, I will get home today and it'll be in the mailbox but just want to see if there is a different process for this and what everyone else's normal wait time is....thanks!

Hi, can someone please update my timeline info....I'm in there twice for some reason--the correct one is my local field office is San Francisco (I just had to do my fingerprinting at an ASC in Oakland).
Here is my data:
Sent: 7/13/11
Check cashed: 7/19/11
NOA: 7/19/11
FP: 8/29/11 but did EF 8/16/11
Yesterday (8/26) afternoon I received an email update that we were placed in line for interviewing.....then in the evening we got the email update that the interview has been scheduled and so we're just waiting for the interview letter to arrive.
Thanks!

Hi, can someone please update the timeline for me please? We were successful in doing early FP today at the Oakland office. Original FP appt was 8/29/11 but we will be out of town that day so we went today (8/16/11) and were able to get it done. We lined up at 7:45am (office opened at 8am) and there were about 10 ppl in front of us so we were unsure if they would let us go today....so we go inside and when my husband showed the security guard the letter, he asked us to stand aside until he has helped all the other ppl whose appt date was actually today--so the 10 ppl in front of us plus about 10 ppl behind us....then he asked us to come back to him and asked why we wanted it early and we said because of vacation and so he went to the site supervisor and was given the okay---so we were seen and were in and out of there within 40 min--super fast office and much nicer building/location than the old Oakland ASC center. Success!! Also, please update that my check was cashed 7/19/11. Thank you!!

We got the fp letter today. scheduled for 8/29/11. We're going to try for an early walk-in at the Oakland office---couldn't figure out from past posts if anyone was ever successful so I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best! Also, can you please add in that my check was cashed on 7/19/11. Thanks!

Oops, meant ASC center not AOS!
-
hi thanks for that tip...I remember looking before but never knew which AOS office it was done at (since there are at least 2 in this area)....I'll look a little harder!

Hello, has anyone been successful in doing early fingerprinting in the Bay Area, California? My local office is San Francisco but we usually get sent to the AOS office in Oakland---I'm waiting for my letter to come in (got the email today that it was mailed out) so I want to see what my chances are if we attempted doing a walk-in....Any info will be appreciated!

Can you please add my info in?
Packet mailed off to Arizona Lockbox on 7/13/11
NOA 7/19/11
office: San Francisco, CA
still waiting for the rest....looks like SF is a slower office (hope we're not being left behind!)

Please update my info on the list! We got the email and text on 9/15 that my husband's card production was ordered! Just waiting for it arrive now....!

Oh, sorry--I thought it was listed. I mailed it to CSC.

Hello, I've been hanging around the forum but haven't posted in a long time. I wanted to give our updates for removing my husband's conditions as I know this helps with the accuracy of the timelines...can someone please add me to the list? Thanks! =)
We sent the package off on 6/24/10
NOA 1: 6/28/10 (rcvd 7/6/10)
bio appt: 8/10/10 (letter rcvd 7/24)
Thanks once again & good luck to everyone!

Hi, just to add--I only showed my US passport which was enough for the interview, however I also took my Naturalization Certificate too because when I filed for the K-1 for my husband, the IO wouldn't accept my US passport as enough proof of me being a US citizen. I then had to *waste* several hundred dollars in acquiring my certificate (I was under 18 when I became a US citizen so I became naturalized through my parents) and I then submitted this with the K-1 and the AOS packet. However, like stated above, the US passport was enough proof during the interview.
Just to note: I wore jeans to our interview and it was fine! I did have a dressier top on so maybe that helped. I did see a lot of people dressed in business casual attire too though.

Hi, great news. After I posted my last response on VJ, I checked my email and there it was--an email stating that the greencard had been ordered!!! All that bother for nothing--I'm so glad there is no need to follow-up with an info-pass after all.
Thanks for the kind advice, it helped me during that moment of worry.
Yay, we're done for 2 years!

Thanks Mrs. Wilson & Heliosphan for the response--After I posted my question, I realized that it's a pretty general question but I appreciate the help--I'll make that infopass to follow-up on the case. I'll probably wait about 5-6 weeks to give them extra time, it's just hard because I don't know how much time they really need.
Oh well--I'll see what happens. Thanks again!

Hello,
It's been a while since I've posted but alas, I have a question/concern that I'm hoping someone can maybe help me with.
My husband and I had our AOS interview in the beginning of September. Everything went great, and the IO was very friendly and easy to deal with. As she was marking the paper as approved, she let us know she had to step away and would be right back.
When she returned, she informed us that she was unable to approve us at the moment (It was heartbreaking to see her cross out the approved box and mark the pending box!) because she stated that since my husband lived in the US as a child for a year, she would need to locate his files from that year and attach it with our current files. Now, I'm happy that our interview went well and we don't need to come back again or submit any additional paperwork, but I'm concerned about this delay. Has anyone else ever been in a similar situation? I'm unsure of how long I should wait before attempting to follow-up on this. She didn't give us any sort of time frame and just said we will receive a letter in the mail. That's not enough info to go by!!
Any related experiences or opinions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
**I am going to update my timeline soon, jest of it for now is: Married March 2008, filed AOS in April, Interview in September!**

Hi there, I haven't posted in a looong time (being married takes away all my free time and I love it!) but just wanted to add in my info. My husband's EAD and AP were approved yesterday (June 2nd) and we were informed via email. Just waiting for the official docs to come in the mail, but yay! Just waiting for a sign of life on the AOS--looks like we're not being transferred to CSC as it hasn't been touched since the biometrics appt. Oh well. As long as it gets approved in a decent time, we'll deal with it.

Congrats on the interview date.
Just thought I'd share this: We contacted the London Embassy many times via email without ever having a special code and we always had a quick response. We never called the embassy on the extortion line and email was our only form of contact with them. Hopefully this might save time and money for some.

Thanks!!
Thanks RosemarieL so much for clarifying that...I'll make sure he knows to look out for that package...
-
Thanks!!!
No worries, just wanted to see the infamous 'APPROVED' next to my name!! Very relieved and so excited about the next step.
Good luck for Monday, it will be your day to celebrate!

Hi,
My fiance had his interview today, Jan 2 and he was approved
(I just saw this thread and had updated my timeline last week with the interview date but wasn't added to the list!)
He also had his brown envelope opened by the officer, who checked the x-ray and handed the opened package back to my SO telling him to take it with him on the plane...I too thought it was meant to stay sealed until the POE but I'm hoping the officer knew what he was doing so he didn't question it.
Yay for this stage being over....Good luck to everyone with their interviews coming up....My SO was stressing but after a quick 2 minute interview, it was over and he was approved and congratulated. All those weeks of stressing and they only asked him where he worked and what he did and whether he had been to America before....
-
Yes, that was either 5 pounds or 7 pounds...he paid that online the day before he drove down.

My husband had his interview today and passed! Yay, one more step and we're done! We got to the office about 40 minutes early but he had to wait 45 mins after his scheduled appt time to be called in. Once he was in, it took 10 minutes for him to come back out with the good news...now just have to wait for the oath ceremony--i think he's going to miss the next one (since it's in 3 weeks) but that's okay--just glad this part is over and done with
