I'm in the same situation myself. I left my husband for 2 years for all the right reasons. I recently filed a divorce. I entered the marriage good faith and I have documents to support that. I am left with nothing- no house, no job, and with very little money in my bank account. But at least now I have some peace of mind every time I wake up in the morning.
My lawyer used 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the divorce. Although, we both know why...despite of him still claiming how good he was to me. That I only used him to get my green card. Despite of all my friends think how bad I am for leaving the guy who took me here in the US. I decided not to ask for anything but for my car- he wants me to pay for it. I just want to get out of my miserable marriage. I'm not sure whether he will contest the divorce or not.
Anyway, good luck to us.
P.S. in Part 2 of I-751 form choose d: I entered into marriage in good faith...

Hi I am posting here to get some info for legal aid lawyer here in Chicago. I have little money and lost my old job (I resigned) so that's the only service I could afford right now. My husband said it is OK for me to file a divorce. I have to do it soon because my green card expires less than 6 months from now. Thank you.

When I applied for my driver's license they only asked for my State ID and SSN Card. It would be faster if you apply for State ID first (got mine right after I received my SSN), just bring your passport with visa stamped, SSN card and your marriage certificate.
Although I am still waiting for my green card, I have my driver's license valid til 2013 same with my State ID.
That might be the one I need. State ID.
Thank you guys,..
Yes I used State ID as my primary ID for months before I got my Driver's License. I was added in my husband's bank accounts using said ID. Goodluck

Hi everyone,
Kris just finished her first day medical, and they told her to come back on Monday, Oct. 13. I am disgusted about this. Her interview is on Oct. 20; that is four days after the first day.
She says everything went well, they actually seemed in a hurry all day. Has anyone else had to wait four days for the second day of medical?
It is not right for St. Luke to do this. That is another four days of motel fee for most people.
Thanks
I had my first day medical on April 28 of this year and I believed everything went well (finished it past 8PM). So when the lady on the check out counter told me to come back on the 7th of May (that's more than 1 week of waiting) I was confused and at the same time exhausted, so instead of asking her why I just decided to go home and rest.
The following morning I started feeling nervous, I thought the reason why they asked me to wait that long is because something's wrong with my medical. I was restless and super scared while waiting for my second day... to make my story short I got nervous for nothing. I was from Manila and maybe that's the primary reason why they asked me to come back after more than a week, they have to accommodate people who came all the way from the province.
In my passport, SLEC stamped N (stands for NORMAL) dated April 28, first day of my medical.
I arrived here in the US on the 28th of June 2008.
So just relax keep your mind/ your fiancee's mind on your upcoming interview. Good luck!

Cook's County Clerk's office. You need to apply for a marriage licence ($35), amd after 24 hours you can get married in front of the judge (no appointment necessary).

u should contact someone so u will know if the tax has been included already. hubby bought my ticket at cheapoair too and tax was included. I paid only the terminal fee upon departure. It depends maybe, just call to make sure.
I called the cheapoair a while ago but they asked me to call JAL... I will going to call JAL later. Did you show anymore ID aside from your passport in the airport? I am getting nervous coz my flight will gonna be on the 28th of this month. Hope everything will gonna fine. Oh one more question :-) can I ask about your POE experience (immigrations and customs) Thank you very much!
...aside from terminal fee do I need to pay the travel tax in Terminal 1? I tried to call 028322191 for inquiry unfortunately the line's always busy. Please advise. Thank you.My wife travels to Singapore often and we always pay 1,620 pesos for travel tax.
Where did your wife buy her ticket, online or travel agency here in the Philippines? If online is it in cheapoair? Thanx for the reply

I am so confused at this point. I have been told, my fiance has to attend the CFO seminar before she can get her passport in the Philippines. They are also asking for a lot of information from me, including an FBI criminal record check. Can someone tell me where I can find the requirements for the CFO seminar in the Philippines?
Sheriff Uling is right, use travel agency to get your fiancee's passport. I used one last year (travel agency in the Mall) I paid twice but it was alot faster. My appearance in DFA only took 15 minutes or less... I put tourist/travel (I think) for my passport purpose. They didn't ask any background check, CFO whatsoever. Just find travel agency and tell them that you need a passport, provide all the documents that they need (BC, NBI, photocopy of 2 valid ID etc) and P1,500. You will gonna have it in less than a month.
Still, she will still need to attend the CFO seminar before she leaves the country if she didn't attend the seminar before she gets the passport.
Yup!

First of all I thank God and praise Him for being with me all the way through this visa process and in any situation always. Im sure you all are experiencing the same from His grace. I just had my interview last friday May 23rd. I came there around 7am and i thought I was already late for the 7.30 am appointment but I guess not coz eventually my process was finished along with those who came at 6am. However it was a long day of waiting. The guards were telling us it was over-crowded inside so we have to wait outside until 9.30, phew!
Anyways, there was no much of strict checking of things as regards to bringing of foods or liquids inside the premises. They didnt ask me anymore to take a sip out of the water bottle or anything. They were just more concerned of the electronic things. So passed 11 was called for pre-screening and so it was like this:
Questions being asked: Name of petitioner, his first and last visit, where and how we met, what did i do abroad ( germany & belgium), what's my fiance's work... and then asked me to give the ff docus: NBI, BC,CENOMAR,POL.Clearance, Affidavit of support and pictures. That's all..
And then waited for the interview with the CO:
CO asked me almost the same thing as the pre-screener did. She was friendly and nice, she greeted me the moment I get inside the room,
smiles always while asking me questions, but still that never calmed my nervousness down She did a lil chat with me and asked me if I can speak German and I said yes, "she said thats great, it's a beautiful language!" and i said "yes it is"... She browsed thru our paperworks as well as thru our pictures of me and my fiance together and she said " oh he's cute!" and i was just like smiling and realized to say thank you to that comment a minute later , due to the nervousness again! And then she said "did you apy the delbros alerady?" and i sais yes! CO then said everything looks fine and that our papers are fine, and I felt so good as i heard it until she said "we just have to wait for the verification from the NSO just to make sure it's not fake and that you're not married 10 times!" well she was trying to be humorous with that but as soon as I heard the verification thing I knew it there's a chance for white slip. I said thank you and CO said your welcome, take care! So i went out and there I got white slip from the window nr 38 and asked to pay 250 for visa delivery...
So now Im just welcoming myself to the club of the "white slips" waiting for the doc verification... Anyhow, Im still thankful that it's turned out well all in all! And to God thank you so much for His unending loving kindness!!! To all who are still waiting God bless you and good luck! Thank you to all fellow VJyers who have helped me and my fiance through this process, we wouldnt know better if we havent seen this site!!!
Congratulations!!!Hope you'll get your visa soon

Hi there when Delbros texted me on May 21 at 9PM it clearly stated there that they will gonna deliver my visa the following day up to 2 days. In the afternoon of May 22 I received another text from them with almost same message (delivery starts today up to 2 days). I waited until Saturday in our house, didn't go out whatsoever just to make sure that I am there when they arrived. In the morning of Saturday I called the Delbros landline and inquire about my visa but told me to send a message instead to 09176221949. Got a reply with message that goes like this 'visa is out for delivery...' Saturday was over but still no visa. Sunday, while I was out I got a message from my sister that the Delbros delivery guy is in our house. I asked her to make them wait for me, I was there in less than 15 minutes (geezzz I walked out in the middle of my facial session) just to learned that they are already gone. They left a note (that I wasn't there when they delivered my visa) with the delivery guy's cell phone number. My sis told me that they will gonna come back on Monday or Tuesday. I thought I can't wait no more (I am very impatient, am I not?) called the number and spoke with a guy asked him to come back. Told him that I am gonna pay him for his gas++ B) He said yes, they arrived before 8PM and got my visa!!! Your visa is really on it's way so just wait for it. And I think it is better if you fill out the authorization letter (attached in your receipt) just in case you ain't home when they arrived. God Bless!
