  1. Ok. I have talked a little about this in my last post awhile back when my fiancee was sending in packet 2. So I would like to see what information you learned people can give me to try to get this sorted out to make it work. Here goes.

My Thai fiancee has a daughter that will be 11 in August. I think our interview will fall in August or maybe early Sept. She sent in the packet a few weeks ago and we are waiting for packet 3. Her daughter does not want to move to the USA and that's ok with me. I basically want my lady here long enough to get her SSI, green card and whatever else she needs to travel freely back and forth. I have a couple more years before I retire..again...and then I will move to Thailand. She wants to bring her daughter on her school break which will fall for the month of September but in my thinking that is cutting it real close. If we get the visa in late August she can come with her mom but the problem is mom taking her back for school after the month vacation.

So, I know about advance parole and that we have to get married first....which we plan on doing right away when she gets here...but does anyone know how we can accomplish the daughter coming here in Sept. if all works out well and mom getting her back for school after the month without causing problems? Any shortcuts for mom travelling back and then returning to the US until all the other papers are done?

Any help would be much appreciated so I can ease the stress in my fiancee who wants her here every vacation she can. Thanks in advance!!!

I applied for for the AP in mid-March and wifey receiived approval on May 15. I did however have to call USCIS to expadite the request. She met the requirements and now can go to Philippines and fetch her daughter.

After one to two months of filing, call USCIS and see what they can do. If you cannot make any headway, call your congressman and they can help you.

  2. I have been with my finance for 7 years now, for the last 6 years we have been together living/working in Australia on my 457 Business visa.

She is American and I am British

We feel that our time is up in Australia and its time to return home to friends and family and to get married. We want to move to the US and get married start a family and settle down :-)

I would like to leave Australia by the end of the year, Can I start filing any paper work here or doing any thing while I am here or do I have to wait until I am back in my home country England and she is in the US, I am worried if I go back to the Uk she would only be able to spend 3 months there and we would be split up again.

Would getting Married here help ?

Thank you for your help

I filed my 129F while i was living in Malaysia and went fine.

My wife and I are now living here in Memphis TN!

However, you will need an address in the US. Just make sure it is someone you can depend on to fax or email the Notice of Action letters you will receive from USCIS

The process went well. The two item that the US is interested in is a true relationship and financials. If you have that sorted, you are good to go mate…. Cheers!

  3. MARAMING SALAMAT PO to Dianne and Ryan for the exceptionaly precise information about the exam process. I know we would have made a mistake or two along that one.

But this has brought up a question I havent noticed anywhere. She has a 1 year old daughter. Will the daughter also have to go through some medical examinations and innoculations?

As most of the peeps here are correct. You will need to have your daughter get clearance as well. Everything shoel be fine! My asawa had to bring her 4 year old, it was a long day. Thonk God she had her mommy and sister with with her.

You probably have someone accompany you to help with the baby?

    Cheers!

  4. Well, Wennie's visa finally arreived last week and now she is somewhere over the Pacific and will be here tomorrow! I believe they were checking that all her documents were lagit because she is 34, beautiful and single.. cant wat to see her again! In just a few short hours we will be together forever.. YES!

To all of you on this journey, my advice is do your due dilligence up front and you will have no problems. Just have to be patient which is very difficult to do but just hav faith. If it is ment to be, then all will be okay.

This site has been very helpful and want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to share.

Cheers to all and God bless you!

    Mark and Wennie

  5. Hi Folks,

Regarding picking up the visa at the embassy...

I will by accompanying Joy to the embassy interview, and hopefully flying with her to the US a week later. Does anyone know if it is more likely that the consular officer will approve visa pickup if the US citizen fiance is with her? Thanks.

    Marc

I was with my fiancee (now my wife of course) and presented a written request to the CO which was approved, but I know of others who were not. We picked up the VISA 2 days after interview.

Make sure you put your request in writing and sign it. State the reason you are requesting it (... you are there to accompany her on her trip to the US ...). Present the written request to the CO at the interview.

    Hey Mark,

I accompanid my girl to the interview. The interview went well and she passed with no issues. However, they would not grant visa pickup. The interview was on Jan 8 and she still has not received her visa. I called the embassy to see what the problem was, They sad they were ding additional checking and and would not tell me what for. Its very fustrating and heartbreaking. grrrrr.. so hope you have better luck.

    Mark

  6. Friends,

Wennie and I had out interview on January 8th and she dir great! The CO was friendly and says we passed the interview with no probelms.

However, it has been 10 business days and still no visa. I called the embassy and they said they are checking on additional items and waiting some information from the Philippines. The embassy would not tell me what they were lookin into and told me to call back in 2 weeks if we did not receive anything by then.

He said it could be a max of 6 weeks! Has anyone expirenced this or know someone who has had this issue? Wennie is due to travel in Jan 24, thought that would be pleanty of time but now that date does not look pronising.

Can someome shead some light on this?

    Thanks!

  7. Thanks CL79,

Yes, she stayed in Malaysia on the 30 day social passes. During the year and a half, we were able to extend the visa at the Butterworth Immigration for two additional 30 day passes but needed to exit after the second extention expired. Was a pain but was worth the effort for us to be together.

I am hoping to get a black and white from the police or Wisma stating they will not provide a clearance for social passes. Wish I was there to help the police with "makan" if you know what i mean. My buddy is working on it.

I will take you advice on my babe cheking wiht the Malaysian Embassy in Manila. For over three years of dealing with the Malaysian government, (I love the Malaysian people so much, but the government tried my patience, same in the US though :-) By nature, they are not flexable in any sense and are quick to say no on anything outside of the sheet of paper..

Thanks again for you comments and wish you all the best!

Let me try to understand your situation:

Your fiancee is from the Philippines but she lived in Malaysia for 1.5 years on a 30-day tourist visa? Is that right?

I am not sure how tedious is it to obtain a Police Clearance certificate for a foreigner in Malaysia but I am a Malaysian and it took me 3 weeks with a lot of calls to hurry the people in Wisma Putra to finally get the certificate out to me. If I am not wrong, the average process takes about 2 months in order for them to issue you the Police Clearance Certificate.

If your fiancee is in the Philippines now, I suggest she contacts the embassy of Malaysia to ask for advice.

    Good luck.

  9. Hello mates,

I am haveing a lot of difficulty of getting my fiance a police clearance for Malaysia. Have sent myHR Manager to Wisma Putra in KL but no luck. The reason was that she was on a tourist visa 30 days at a time of the span of 1.5 years. She lived me during this time in Penang.

Her interview is set for January 8th in Manila. We have every document we need with the exception of this... Question is how strict are they on this? Does anyone have an advie on this or have been in this situstion?

I would hate her to be delied after all the hard work, money and efforts put into this stressful process.

    Please help!

    Thanks,

    Mark and Wennie

  10. YuandDan,

Thank you so much for the information although it was not exactly what i wanted to hear. The person and th USCIS office in Memphis instructed me to send the I-134 and supporting documents along witht the I-129. So much for that..

At least i have time get the documents in order and sent in time for her interview. We have been living together in Malaysia for 2 years, i left her on Friday.. very difficult to be apart now.

Thanks again for your excellent advice!

  11. Hello to all fellow visa awaiters! What an exciting (but long) journey we are on eh?

Just said bye to my fiancee yesterday as I relocated to the US from Malaysia, she is now back in Manila awaiting the good word from the Embassy there.

Couple of questions for you good filks out there:

I sent in the I-134 and the Bio along with the I-129 to the CA office, now on the way to New Hampshire (nothing from them yet..).

In the I-134 packet I included bank statements, letter of employment, 2 years 1040 and so on.

Since i sent the AOS and Bio with the whole, will my darling have to have an I-134 with her or will the embassy already have it? I would think the Embassy would have it she will not need it? Am i correct?

Also, does anybody have the details on what is invloven in the medical exam?

    Thanks guys! AYOS!
