  1. Same as what ELW syas. it is very easy to get last 3 years tax-transcript from IRS. Also, if you pay them some fee, they will send you a copy of return.

I wouldn't go short on these things - take 3 years return. Interviewer can make big deal out of any small thing - deny them a chance to do that.

ELW - I am ever grateful to you.

  2. ELW, RSA, Pkewl, DanielParul and everybody: thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts here. Our social marriage was in last Saturday. We are now sitting with AOS process. We would appreciate your response.

    1. Should my wife apply with maiden last name or married last name?

My wife have maiden last name in marriage certificate in Social security card, in passport. She has married last name in my company insurance and few other places. I am little bit confused as to what to put in her family last name - married or unmarried?

    2. Could somebody tell me what is the total fee, and Chicago loop box address. I just wanted to confirm that I have exact information.

    I am filling: I485, G325, I131 and I765 (I693A)

    3. In many forms, the question refers to A#. I assume it is green card number. Should I just ignore it, and write 11 digit I94 number?

    4. Could you confirm I765 Question 16 (Eligibility criteria)= ©(9)

  3. A friend of mine bought a property in Indian while he was under H1B. Now, he is An American citizen while the property is in his name?

Did he violate any law in India? Would he be in trouble if he apply for PIO card. He wants to apply for PIO card because he wants to owns property but worried about property already owned. Any thoughts....

  4. Hurryup

I investigated the same options. It is quite possible that you meet your wife mid-way in the London and come back with you r wife to USA.

I think the travel agent is fooling you that you can't buy your wife's ticket from USA. This is absurd. I bought my fiancee's one-way ticket from USA.

I ended up going to India to accompany her during her k1 interview. We came back together.

Try to find a good travel agent - they will find options for you. Interestingly, I also looked at London option. See the options in British Airways,

  5. Silent - I am glad things are going well. Advice to you - please record all communication between you and your husband. Also, your ask husband to get the marriage registration; you may need during interview.

I don't mean to scare you but slowly prepare yourself for the interview. In the mean time, have a beer or two...

  7. Guys, I am leaving US this Saturday for Mumbai. My fiancee's interview is on May 12th, Monday. Wish me good luck!

Please offer me any advice or suggestion you may have - is there anything I need to do before I go.

    I am taking:

    pay-stub since VFS submission

    bank statement covering 1-yr.

    phone logs since VFS submission

I would gratefully listen any interview advice/caution.

Thanks again to everybody in VJ forum. I keep wondering why I got a lawyer!

  8. You can try this idea: Open a repatriable Non Resident account in Citibank and ICICI. These accounts are designed for non-resident Indian but money can be taken out of India. My understanding is that you can take more than 10K USD out of India via these means. Please call ICICI or Citibank. They can assist you further.
