  1. Does anyone know where the ASC for Naples, FL is?

What is ASC ? I am moving to Naples FL once or should i say if i get my Visa ...I am CR-1 and just about to send in my DS-230's and then hopefully have my interview in a few weeks :) my hubby lives in Naples FL and thats where we shall live out life together :) So just wondering what your talking about when you say ASC?

I think anything to do with Immigration your nearest office would be Miami but im not 100% sure

  2. HI vj FAMILY.TODAY I RECEIVED A LONG AWAITED E-MAIL STATEING I130 approved. The hard copy is in the mail.:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: WOWWOWEEEEEEE!!

I did not receive any touches prior to approval except exactly when approved was one touch 7/17/2008.This has been a long wait.Lets all pray that Vermont Slow Center will become Vermont Fast Center and many other NOA2s will follow mine.We thank everyone at VJ for all the info in the past and for info we will need for the second part of our journey. We thank God all the goodness bestowed upon us.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!! Coming out of Vermont is such a nice feeling :) I too was at Vermont but got Approved on 26th June now we are at the last leg of NVC ...I will be sending in my DS-230 's for my son and myself this week so hopefully i will be case complete in a couple weeks if all goes well :) our files were on the NVC system on July 2nd so it only took a week to get out Vermont to NVC.

Interview in London in Sept if im lucky :)

Your on your way ..... Good luck !

NVC are so much nicer to work with compaired to USCIS but im sure USCIS they have thier reasons as to why they can't answer hardly any questions.

If you follow the Fast way to go through NVC it should save you atleast 1 - 2 months time :)

All the best to you both :)

  3. Hi All,

First of all I just want to say thank you to everyone who is reading my post. I am a new to this forum so please forgive me if I ask stupid question but I tried to read as much as possible before posting my question here. I am sorry if there are few threads open with similar questions but I am just running out of luck with USCIS.

I got married and filed I130 and got my NOA1 - in 2/11/2008 and since then I have not heard anything from USCIS. I am just trying to figure out if anyone who has contacted the USCIS knows anything about the process. Few months back the process time was August 2007 but now it says July 30 2007? How is that possible? They went back from Sep to July in Vermont ??

I see many people got their NOA2 who applied after me? How? Is my application stuck somewhere or lost ?

I need to know how long it will take before they approve my i-130 and when should I contact them?

    Thank You.

    Hi

I dont want to give you false hope of getting approved anytime soon but it is possible A rough timscale of what i see is 8 to 10 months but if they are all up to date then obviously 6 to 8 months ( thats just for USCIS to approve )...I know the website says that they are working on or before cases for July 2007 but i dont think thats true...they never seem to update vermont I-130 timelines because my husband filed my I-130 in October 2007 and we just recently got approved ( june 26th) I don't have a straight forward case but i dont have a difficult one either...previouse marriages and denied entry back in 2002 so more of my case to look at i guess so if you have a straight forward case i am sure it wont take tool long. There are ppl that filed back in August...sept...oct...nov and dec 2007 that are still waiting for approval but again you might be real lucky and get approved soon and once you do NVC are so much easier to deal with regards to calling and getitng to talk with an operator and they do know thier stuff :)

Hang in there it will happen.....USCIS is the hardest part from then on its all good :) took almost 9 months for my case to be approved

    Good luck

    Michelle :)

  4. Just wanted to share a little of my joy. :D

John and I have been having a hard time lately. The time and distance wouldn't be so bad if we had an end date, but as I am sure everyone knows the indefiiante period grates.

As a result there has been some bickering, which gets us down further. Especially as we don't often argue. But last night I got home and there was a half dozen red roses waiting for me in a boquet. (F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)

All of a sudden it felt like we were closer and it was grand. :star:

Awww thats very nice to get flowers :)

Things will work out and i see your K1 so you might be lucky and get NOA2 in a couple months :)

I am CR-1 and have just got approval, our files are on there way to NVC now but i was in the USCIS system for 9 months so it has been a long wait and i have not seen my hubby for over 10 months so i understand what distance can do to couples...frustration and not seeing eachother is not the best but Jeff and i know there is light at the end of the tunnel :)

I am hoping to be reunited with my hubby for begin Oct if all goes well :)

Good luck and hang in there, it will happen :)

    Michelle :)

  5. Congrats!!! Finally we see some activity at VSC

Thanks to you all :) It certainly has been a long wait :) Originally we had attorny that filed K3 ( i was not keen on K3) for us but it was never moving and i was not comfortable with not filing an I-130 for my son so we told attorney we were going to file I-130 for my son he was not too charmed about it but thats okay cause we are so glad we did. We stopped his services and carried on ourselves.

My I-130 and I-129F was filed 19th Oct 2007 in April 22nd we filed I-130 for my son along with a cancellation letter for the I-129F ( which we did ourselves) so now we went CR1 route which is better in the log run and the fact K3 was taking forever... so it has worked out for us. there was no delay in getting approved because of the late filing of my sons I-130 ( he is 12yrs of age and a minor)

Just so every one knows it can be done if anyone changes there plans from K3 to I-130 I know for a fact both I-130's are together as i have e-mail proof and will be on there way to NVC where i hope the process to go faster :)

I hope to be with my hubby by Sept :)

I was getting very depressed waiting, Now the news of approval has lifted my spirits , I havent seen my hubby in over 10 months a couple more wont hurt.

    Michelle :)

  6. I just recently got married to my wife in China and am curious about the IR-1/CR-1 for her and her daughter who is 16. Do i have to file an I-130 for both of them seperatly or just one? If anyone can give me any advice i would very much appreciate it.

    Congratulations on your marriage :)

You have to file an I-130 for each of them ( 1 for your wife and 1 for your step-daughter) but file both petitions at the same time. you can got to the USCIS website and there you can find out which service centre your state is covered by.

    www.uscis.gov

    Good luck :)

    Michelle :)

  7. We received a letter yesterday from CA service centre, saying that our request to expedite our I-129f petition has been granted. Does anyone have experience of how quick they expedite the petition now? Do they just expedite it through the intial approval stage at the service centre or is it expedited all the way through?

Also for the interview in London, do i need to have the orginals of certificates and also an official copy of them or can i have just the orignals and a photocopy?

    ROCA

When your filed gets expedited it is basically it is adjudicated and all goign well approved at the service centre your at then it will be passwed to NVC to go through the rest of the process and then onto the Embassy in your fiance's country.

If you dont mind me asking on what grounds did you get your file expedited ?

My hubby's Senator said we had strong grounds for applying to get our case expedited since our situation has drastically changed in the last 3 months. Hardship for his 15yrs old son and financial hardship. Just wondering why yours was granted and how long did u have to wait to hear the news ?

    Michelle

  8. Vermont has continued to move forward and catch up with California on the 129F. But, they have not gotten anywhere with the I-130 at all in three months. I only filed for the I-130 and wonder if I filed the 129F now if it would ibe considered long with the same month as my I-130 I did back in Feb. 08?

I am very surprised that no one out there has been talking much about this issue.

My husband filed my I-130 and its at vermont service centre and has been since Oct 19th 2007 such a long time to be there, we are still not approved ! :( It's so frustrating !!!!

We have now got n touch with my husbands Senator and he has sent a request to expedite our files because this is ridiculious NO husband and wife should be kept this long apart ! We are waiting to hear back

You know it's not like we file for free we do have to pay for the processing to be done so Vermont need to get off thier butts and catch up with the rest the Service Centres don't ya think!

I bet there are a lot people out there getting so tired of waiting and waiting just to get through this part...the good thing i when it hits NVC it seems to go faster :)

Good luck to everyone thats waiting :)

    Michelle

  9. I have the same question so don't feel bad asking. I assume it is the benificiary's information because they had to choose us/someone to represent them. What bugs me is that I sent all of this stuff with the I-130 to uscis and can't understand why we have to send it again to NVC. Don't they forward it to each other? So annoying!

what i dont understand is how im supposed to have him get the police clearance and birth certificates to me to send to nvc and then go get the police clearance AGAIN to bring to the interview!

You should order 2 police certificates when u apply for it that way u have 2 ...i guess they are valid for a year so no need to get police clearance twice just get it done in one go.

As far as i know NVC are a different entity and have set requirements for the visa ...silly i know cause it's the same for me sinc ei am the UK ad ny husband is USC so i have to send my original certs...birth , marriage , divorce decree and police cert i have to get from UK so im ordering 2 one for the interview and 1 for me t take incase NVC lose anything ...costly and a lot of hassle for us folks ! however it is a requirement and i guess we just have to do it.

I have 2 of each documents except my divorce decree which im gonna get from the courthouse here in UK then i will be all set for when i need to send off my docs to my husband in US so he can forward to NVC.

Also remember to send passport style photos of each person moving with you and a set of copies of all the documents they ask for along with the originals.

hope this help make things clearer :)

Still waiting my approval from Vermont the Balck Hole !!!!

    Michelle

  11. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT THEY UPDATED THE PROCESSING TIMES ON THE USCIS WEB PAGE FOR JUNE 15TH!!!!

NO Change for Vermont ...Oh my this is terrible they are still saying they are working on cases on or before 30th July 2007

Myhusband filed for my self ( I-130) October 2007 ...what on earth are Vermont playing at ????

This is distressing when i know they have been approving people that filed after us but yet can't even give an update ...shocking !!!!

    Sad and frustrated :(

  12. Hello, I was thinking of filing I-130s for my step-children now but wasn't sure if this would negatively impact the K3/K4 (VSC) timeline. Have any VJs filed I-130s for their stepchildren after they are several months into the K3/K4 process? My I-130/I-129f NOA1s are 02/12/2008 and 03/03/2008. Thanks in advance for info.

    Hello

My husband and i were originally going K3/K4 route but in April this year we felt better to file an I-130 for my son because the waiting time for K3/K4 is just about the same as filing I-130 so my husband filed for me in October 2007 but like i say he filed I-130 for my son in May 2008. Our files are at Vermont Service Centre and we know they are together and that they will get adjudicated together according to an officer at vermont, i have the e-mail to prove it so now both my son and myself will be going CR1 and not K3/K4 as originally planned. So do it now and dont waste no time.

going I-130 route is far better in the long run :)

    Good Luck :)

  13. I have an appointment with the us embassy in london,at the moment we are puting together the paper work for the k1.I have to apply for a visa to visit as I am not eligible for the VWP.I did not overstay or break any laws, I stayed in the us for three years with legal extensions. My questions are will this interview if denied a visa affect the k1 when filed, they also require a police report is that normal????

I went through K1 a few years back and like you went to London prior to applying for the K1 to see if i could get a visitors visa just so i could go spend a couple months with my Fiance but i was Denied the visitors visa because they dont look lightly on visiting a fiance if your VWP was not valid, i had a denied entry so that didnt help ( i didnt show strong ties to UK at the time i entered USA eventhough i had return tickets and had no intention of staying over my time they still denied my entry) ...you must be prepared for a denial but who knows you might be lucky ...i wasn't

    Good luck :)

  14. Okay, with all this talk of tracking from NVC to Embassy, Approval Notices, Taxes etc. I am feeling left out. Still no approval. I need a pick me up. I am going to buy myself something nice at lunch time today. :crying:

I know the feeling :( My hubby filed my I-130 on October 19th 2007, still no approval :( VJ estimated i would be adjudicated by May 2nd this year but here we are still waiting ....soon be middle of June and still nothing :(

How long will it take for Vermont to be back on track with I-130's ????

Last time i seen my hubby was Aguust 2007 Long time ago now but we are always living for the day i see approval from Vermont ...that's really goona be a happier day :)

Good Luck to all still waiting :)

  15. If an individual has been married more than once and divorced, for instance twice shoud the individual submit two divorce decrees with the I-130 and must all of the copies of supporting documents be certfied and notarized or regular copies will do? Please reply!

I myself have been married previously( more than twice) so when i sent off my documents for my hubby to send to USCIS i submitted copies of Divorce Decree's not the originals ....keep originals for your interview.

As long as you send copies it will be fine all they really need to see is that you were divorced legaly before you married again.

    Good Luck

Michelle ...1-30Oct Filer 2007...still waiting for my approval from Vermont ...feels like forever !

  16. Hi Dave,

You only need one certificate to cover all of the UK and you get it from ACRO.

You will need a passport photo signed by someone of the list they give you and some proof of address.

    http://www.acpo.police.uk/Certificates%5CA...0form%20pdf.pdf

This is the link .... they're pretty cool, mine arrived last Thursday and even has your photo on it.

All the information needed is in the link.

    Sarah x

ps, if you've got the I-130 approved, I'd suggest you run with it ..... if you bang on with Lotopatience's shortcuts for NVC you'll be done in 4-6 weeks and I understand the interviews are quite quick out of London following that ..... you'll then have a greencard.

    Hi Sarah

I am going CR1 route and my hubby filed in Oct 2007 i see yours was filed in 2008 and yet you have approval which is great cause i don't like to think of people waiting a life time for approval. anyways was wondering what Senator did you send a letter to to get your case actioned ?

Jeff and i have spoke with Congressman and we are told 3 more months for adjudication yet i see CR1 approvals beyond our date of filing .....what can we do ? Hope you can help

I am in Scotland and my hubby is in Naples Florida - our files are at Vermont Service Centre ...we need some advice in what to say and who to speak to to get our case adjudicated.

    Thanks

    Michelle

  18. I came to United State on K1 visa and registered my marriage within 90 days, I don't know if he ever filed for change of status for me.

My husband sent me back to Pakistan and told me that I can come back whenever I want to, I did not know anything about immigration process.

Now, he does not want me to come back and threatend me that he would file the divorce, How can I re-enter to USA or if he files the divorce can I get visa to contest my divorce? Please help me.

K1 is is a 1 time entry visa meaning you have to Adjust Status before you leave the US. Your K1 is nill and void now so now your hubby will have to start over as K3 or CR1... Im so sorry.

I went through the same as you a good few years back and i know and understand it's not pleasant. My x sent me back because he had another woman and ofcourse didn't want me around and so with not having a job i could not support myself or my son he had signed the Affidavit of Support which tied him into supporting me for 10years but he was smart and his attorney told him to pay for a ticket and send me back to my homeland( which he did) then it would be an easy process, i found this out about a year after i was back...so sad really and i feel for you.

    Michelle :(

  19. Ok, thank you so far for your posts. So, it is okay to do it without a lawyer? What about these so-called immigration attorneys and visapro.com? Are these scams or are they the real deal? Please I need to know. Thanks.

Like i said we hired an Immigration Attorney of Law, he was not a consultant he was for real but we found we could do this ourself and save the $$$$because he really didn't bother with relying e-mails or even chasing our file when we asked him to and was dead against us filing an I-130 for my son , i guess if we went ahead with K3 he would have been getting more $$$$ when it came to AOS which to be fair is his job but we have managed fine without his services :)

So it's up to you just be careful if you are gonna get an attorney make sure he is who he says he is cause there are a lot of Consultants out there that use the words Immigration Attorney but are not really lawyers anyways it's up to you but make sure u understand the process so you can keep track of things.

    Michelle :)

  20. Ok, first off due to being misguided by friends who had married prior to me I have delayed filing my cases for my husband. I suppose if I had applied my visa paperwork by now we may we may already have gottenan approval. We married in 11-07 and still have not started the papers. We are eager now to get the ball rolling. I got a few questions: how to start? do we need a lawyer? will a lawyer speed up the process? what do i need from him or he need from me to establish proof of a bonafide relationship? I need any help you can provide. Thanks!

Opps ...forgot to say...An attorney does NOT speed up any processing !!!! Beleive me i know it sounds like a lot of paperwork but its not really, you can do this yourself plus it is good to know how to do it. It gives a better understanding of what your filling out.

proof of a bonafide marriage is..... e-mails, photo's of you together( your wedding pics) and with family members helps to,if you have that , letters written as sworn statements from family members or friends that know you both saying u have a bonafide marriage, joint bank accounts, joint credit card statements, Life insurance showing your husband is benificiary, lease in joint names really anything that you can have your husband on is great it shows commitment as husband and wife.

When you file K3 or for I-130 remember to send copies of everything listed...marriage cert , Full birth Certs, etc...do NOT send the Originals at this stage because they may get lost or not returned.

I hope this helps you to get started also go to the US embassy website, i am sure this is correct link either type in google US Embassy and it will bring up official website then look under immigrant visas.

    http://www.state.gov/

There will be other's come by and add thier info to help too :)

    Michelle :)

My husband and i hired an attorney to file the K3 for me and my son but i seen a lot of K3 applicants getting both I-130 and I-129F approved at the same time so in reality the K3 is not faster somy husband filed an I-130 for my son just in April this year which has joined up with my I-130, mine was filed Oct 2007 so we are going the I-130 route which is a lot easier in the long run. We no longer use our attorney to be honest we have done mostly everything ourselves all he did was check typos and posted it ( the K3 that was) The I-130 we did ourselves so really you can do this yourself. The people on this website will help you because there are many people going through the same thing and all are glad to help out.

We have had confirmation from Vermont Service Centre saying that my I-130 wil get adjudicated in 2 to 3 months and my sons will be done same time as mine. My son is a minor (12yrs)

Anyways...while K3 is an option for you it will only cut the time of about 2 months and then when u arrive in US you have to adjust status which is fine if thats what you want to go through....it makes sense to just file I-130 and not have to deal with extra costs and long waiting before you can work or even get a driving license but it's entirely your choice which route you take.

This process is not easy and can be frustrating ! I have not seen my husband in 9 months so be prepared....I don't see me getting approved till August at the earliest and then i will have to wait 2 or 3 more months before i get interview in my country which will be US embassy in London.

My advice would be to go the I-130 route it is better in the long run :)

Good Luck whatever you choose :)

    Michelle :)
