  1. Absolutely not, not my business, and I'm not a snitch.

That sums up my feelings on the issue. I used to be an illegal immigrant myself for 7 years - not by personal choice but still I feel strongly about all the so called "righteous" people who feel compelled to clean this nation of the illegal immigrants - DREAM ON - that is all that I can say on the subject...

    LOLA

  2. I agree with Jackie - stick around and just dismiss the backbiting comments - people seem to be so sensitive around certain topics and usually nothing good comes out of it.

You have been around for a long time and always been a great support for others - we need all the good people here to balance out the ones who create havoc...

Congratulations on the clinic and good luck!

  3. We met in Paris in 2001 when I was on vacation and he was living and working there. I walked into his store and we struck up a conversation, and arranged to meet at Versailles the next day. We hung out together, went to Nice, and I thought it was a nice holiday romance. When I got back, we talked all the time. I went back 4 more times, and finally moved there in 2004. In 2005, he proposed, I moved back to the U.S., and he followed shortly thereafter. :)

OHHHH - such a romantic story - I am still a sapp (sp?) for love stories like yours...

  4. To the original poster - I am sorry to hear that you are going through this (((HUGS)))

Here is my two cents on the subject.

When my just arrived an old male friend called looking for a phone number of our mutual friend. Sure it was late and I never picked up the phone since I didn't recognized the number but he left a message and I listened to it in front of my husband.

This event created a huge fight that lasted for days with his conclusion - I should have told all of my male friends that I got married and they shouldn't be calling me. I tried to explain to him that I know a lot of people and it would be impossible to contact everyone from my past and alert them of my situation.

That being said - now when I ever have an argument regarding his active search for female "friends and entertainers" he would tell me that it is all my fault, that I am to be blamed because someone has called me long time ago when they shouldn't.

From my experience it's all a double standard and nothing else - at least when dealing with my husband.

  5. Hello MENA population on VJ - it's finally Friday - we all have made it!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance::dance:

I am enjoying one of my sleepless nights with great techno in the background and a game of solitary wondering where the hell my H. is - who knows, who cares...at this point I don't... too tired of caring and worrying - life is too short for this #######...

Anyhow, it is Friday and I am a changed woman!:devil::devil:

    So what else is happening???

  6. What makes the donut illegal...you lost me for a bit there...you deserve a donut after you cabbage diet and all...

I thought you knew...illegal donuts are invading our country! So instead of calling it a baby, i prefer to use the name illegal donut. :jest: I'm a bit whacky today.

My illegal honor donut kicked your illegal honor donut's butt.

did you vote yes for jp?

and has anyone noticed this daily thread is one of the longest ones in quite a while?

I wonder if this phenomenon is related to the return of JP and her positive energy hhhhhmmmmmmm just a thought - hope it won't get me in trouble ... Welcome back JP!!!!

  7. You know when I was pregnant I thought it was like being stoned because the food just TASTES better. You basically live for food when you are pregnant since you cant do anything else. I still indulged in a glass of wine here and there, and pasteurized soft cheese. But the sushi was what killed me, I couldnt live without sushi. I had a very progressive OBGYN who was telling me that I could eat it in fancy restaurants but i still didnt because when i eat it i go to town. I also dont like rolls without raw fish, I love the sashimi.

I don't think I will have that problem  yucko

you dont know what you are missing! really high quality fish, like yellowtail, that isnt fishy at ALL just melts in your mouth like butter. YUM!!!!

No I do, I have tried it a few times....don't like it at all. It's the texture more so than the taste that I don't care for.

mmmmmmm now we are talking my favorite food - raw fish - good stuff - I so miss my copacabana companion who used to feed me the best sashimi... good times...copacabana, Chardonnay and raw fish .... aaaahhhh memories......

you dont know what you are missing! really high quality fish, like yellowtail, that isnt fishy at ALL just melts in your mouth like butter. YUM!!!!

Exactly my thought mmmmmmmm I want sushi samba.......

When you talk about the copacabana that you went to are you referring to the one they show you in goodfellas? You know where he brings her in the backdoor? Or the one in NY with the salsa dancing? I want to go to the city, go out for good sushi and wine then go salsaing at the copacabana! Whoo-hoo!

Edited to say that probably is what you are talking about if you know what sushi samba is... Here is a cool thing, they tried to do Sushi Samba in israel but since the name is taken obviously they call it KyotoSalsa or something like that. But same concept. You can have mediterranean fish there as sashimi like bronzino meditteranean sea bass, etc. Yummy!

Funny that you mentioned Sushi Samba in Israel - my salsa dancing companion is actually a waiter at Sushi Samba - both of the NY locations and he used to tell me of the plans for Israel - I thought that it was same owner who wanted to open up another location but I guess it didn't work out.

The best sushi that I ever had was in Nobu - the Las Vegas location - never been to the one in the city but there are so many other great places that serve incredibly fresh fish and at much more reasonable prices...I miss the good old days - but as they say - it's never too late ...

As for Copacabana it actually seized to exist - I believe this year - will miss it... RIP Copa

lola - still salsa dancing but only in my dreams - for now...

  9. I think that the voting results are almost even 10 - 7 in favor of illegal donut for JP - I guess a lot of people feel like Charles - a little JP - how cute...Why not - if you want the donut go for it.

I am off the donut market - not interested in having any of my own but always glad to an auntie...

    auntie apple fritter :P

sounds yummy - I can do that - I am so much better being anonymous then myself - good feeling to be so care free and so yummy at the same time...lol

  10. Two weeks post menses is too early to tell if pregnancy occured. It may not even be possible yet. Two weeks post menses is when ovulation usually occurs. TMI but I had my menses two weeks ago also so I'm ovulating right now.

    I'm ovulating tooooooooooo!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

" You know my husband thinks that if I am craving something during pregnancy, that I must eat it immediatly before I scratch a body part. He thinks that if I am craving something and i don't get it, and then I scratch something somewhere, the baby will have a birthmark in the shape of what I was craving in the same place I scratched.

This could work to my advantage. Especially with donuts.:dance::dance: "

My in laws think the same thing about the cravings but my husband doesnt buy into it... Although I only really craved italian food, mangoes and cottage cheese. No late night cravings. I will probably get flamed for this but I think that those "serious" middle of the night cravings are a crock of $hit. At least they were for me. I mean I craved things, and flavors, but come on now who really needs taco bell at 3am... I bought into that whole thing a bit more with our first son and i gained a WHOLE lot more weight during pregnancy as a result. Then I lost it all plus after our first. I wasnt willing to blow it with the second son so I ate very very healthily, ate lots of things that were good for me and the baby, and as a result I only gained 25 during the course of the pregnancy and was only 5lbs over prepregnancy when I left the hospital!!!

    Good luck with your test!!!!

I never HAD to have something in the middle of the night either. I was too busy sleepin'!!!

However, I did have to have very very hot and salty french fries from Burger King dipped in a vanilla shake from Mc Donalds everyday. Was a pain going to both restaurants but it had to be done.

I gained 45 pounds with each kid.

I used to enjoy a little smokie smokie (wheres that smiley?!) in college and we used to go to this corner on campus where there was a burger king, a mcdonalds and a convenience store at the intersection. We would get double whoppers from burger king (gasp i would NEVER now!), fries from McDonalds and a 32oz coke from the convenience store when we got the munchies!!!! We would also buy huge bags of M&Ms or whatever we fancied for dessert. Either that or HUGE burritos the size of our heads with tabasco and ben and jerrys for dessert. No wonder I gained the freshman 15+!

    dtuju.gif, then eat.gif and finally S2.gif

So many memories are coming back ... good times... thanks for the laughs - it was a good day

  11. I just called my husband and mentioned that I took a test and it was negative, to my surprise, he was disapointed! He WANTS me to be pregnant! We had agreed to wait until January but he said he changed his mind and wants one now!:unsure: He might be able to persuede me with some donuts.

Well January is not that far away - you can get into the practice mode already so as the new year rolles in you will be with a child and charles will be happy and I will buy donuts for everyone in mena...

sounds like a plan to me...
