Some excellent news for us - after receiving the RFE re: vaccination/medicals, contacting senator's office and making the appropriate individuals do their work properly, the USCIS site has been updated with the long waited "Card sent" and then "Welcome notice sent" with no interview. No GC on hand yet but I have a good feeling on this Thanks all of you for your support and don't hesitate to contact the senator's office - they do their job very well. Good luck!

"they helped us out, the I-693 documentation surrendered at the airport was sitting at the local district office.."
Sorry but that's pretty much impossible unless they have USCIS Desiginated Civil Surgeons in other countries now!
Umm, what forms do the doctors fill out in other countries then?

Contact the senator's office right away - they helped us out, the I-693 documentation surrendered at the airport was sitting at the local district office.. They just forwarded them to CSC, hopefully they don't get lost in transit, I would not be surprised..... So senator's aids do have some "contacts" they can use in order to get things done right.. Good luck!

Hi All,
We got an RFE - need medical and vaccination, I guess they misplaced the ones forwarded from POE.. I'm going to involve a senator in this, as I would hate to pay twice for medicals..
Congrats to everyone on good news!

Everyone seems to have got an EAD or interview date i feel so left out!! I have to get something soon right.......
I really want me EAD
As does everyone else …
Have you called USCIS and made an inquiry? It seemed to have helped in our case..
-
Thanks a lot everyone

We have some good news! On Saturday we received the EAD card - finally, no updates on the USCIS site whatsoever though.. Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Update: Our biometrics appt went well. The case has been updated last night and we received our first (ever!) e-mail from CRIS that our case has been transferred to CSC dated end of June though (what a speedy service LOL). So hopefully we will see our AOS approved soon and bypass the EAD altogether..

Hello everyone! Some good news for us - we received a biometrics appointment letter last Saturday - I think what triggered it was that I called 2 weeks ago and made them do an inquiry for our case.. So hopefully things will finally start moving after August 12th
Wow! Thats's a good news, ritas! I'm happy for you. By the way, does your biometrics letter show the case numbers for your AOS, EAD and AP? Coz the one I had only covered for my AOS so I need to wait still for my biometrics for EAD WHICH i certainly need ASAP. hayayayay.. But still, I'm happy that everything is moving for us and the rest of the May filers. I hope that BR&A will have her appointment soon. Hay. God bless us always.
It was for AOS, and I do believe you are only supposed to get just one appointment letter. Do you know anyone who actually received 2 separate letters?

Wow you skipped Biometrics? I think you should follow up with UCSIS just in case its a mistake... Congrats anyways if you don't need biometrics to get your AOS processed.
Still there is a very slim chance we'd get approved w/o the biometrics letter.. And as I understand our case heading to CSC does not mean it's a good news.. If we get no other clues this week I'll try calling them..

Happy 4th of July!
But too bad... no biometrics appointment yet for me... it's been 6 weeks already since my NOA!!!
:crying:
No biometrics letter for us yet however last Thursday we received a notice our case's been transferred to CSC. Any idea how this could've happened without biometrics?
-
I think, I'm having a depression now. As of today, no biometrics appointment yet! I know some june filers who got theirs already. What should we do.. Hayayayay..
We are in the same boat - anyone else from end of May filers is still waiting for their biometrics letter? It seems like it's just 2 of us so far..
-
I thought it was just us - no biometrics letter as of yet..
any updates on your biometrics appointment?
Nothing here yet..
-
as of today, june 10, 2008 PST, no biometrics letter yet. huhuhuhu!! come on uscis! i want my letter of appointment!!!
I hear you! Our NOA1 is dated 5/25 and we still haven't gotten an appointment letter either. With everyone else seeming to get their's so fast, I was beginning to worry that it was lost in the mail or something ridiculous, but I feel better knowing there are some other people out there that it's taking a while for. Hopefully we'll both hear soon!!
Would the USCIS page show that an appointment letter had been mailed?
I thought it was just us - no biometrics letter as of yet..

Would not I have to include a copy of my SS card?
-
Hello,
I'm the foreign spouse and we just went to the SS office to find out we were one day (!) late (less then 14 day until i-94 expires) to get the SS card under the new last name (I already have one under my maiden name)
Do you think it's ok to use the new last name on all of the AOS filing forms? The copy of the SS card we'll be sending in will still be in my maiden name along with the rest of the document copies.. Not sure what to do here..
Please advise

Thanks a lot for your help

I'm sorry, yes I'm the foreign spouse and I do have a SS card already.. So do I put my new last name on all of the documents from now on? Is this OK even if I do not have any other documents proving I've changed my name? Or do I have to go to the SS office and get a new card with a new name on it?
-
Hello,
I have a little dilemma, I got married week and a half ago and have just received the marriage certificate. I will be changing my last name to my husband's.
1. Should I go to the SSN office and apply for a new card with a new name?
2. Should I use my husband's last name on all of the AOS forms?
Thanks!

Thanks you for your replies!

Domestic travel within the USA is not a problem, immigrations status is checked only at the POE.
So just carrying a passport is sufficient then? Would carrying just an International DL for out of state travel be OK then?
I'm just trying to figure out the minimum amount of documents I'd need to carry around..

Hello everyone!
A question came up - my I-94 is due to expire on May 29th.
We are set to get married on the 27th of April. As soon as we get the certificate we'll file the AOS paperwork.
If I need to travel (within the US) what identification would be sufficient for the authorities if we get stopped or such? Will they have a problem with my expired I-94?
I do also have a current INTERNATIONAL driver's license.
Thanks!

Well, the reason I did not find it odd was that after not receiving the biometrics letter and gaining a few gray hairs in the process of "reminding" them we still needed one, this "nonsense" RFE seemed quite normal to us
