  1. Some excellent news for us - after receiving the RFE re: vaccination/medicals, contacting senator's office and making the appropriate individuals do their work properly, the USCIS site has been updated with the long waited "Card sent" and then "Welcome notice sent" with no interview. No GC on hand yet but I have a good feeling on this ;) Thanks all of you for your support and don't hesitate to contact the senator's office - they do their job very well. Good luck!

    SWEET!!!!!

I still find it odd about the RFE given for Vaccinations.. Especially after it was sent to the CSC.

Well at least it is all over.

    CONGRATS :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Well, the reason I did not find it odd was that after not receiving the biometrics letter and gaining a few gray hairs in the process of "reminding" them we still needed one, this "nonsense" RFE seemed quite normal to us :innocent:

  3. Hello everyone! Some good news for us - we received a biometrics appointment letter last Saturday - I think what triggered it was that I called 2 weeks ago and made them do an inquiry for our case.. So hopefully things will finally start moving after August 12th

Wow! Thats's a good news, ritas! I'm happy for you. By the way, does your biometrics letter show the case numbers for your AOS, EAD and AP? Coz the one I had only covered for my AOS so I need to wait still for my biometrics for EAD WHICH i certainly need ASAP. hayayayay.. But still, I'm happy that everything is moving for us and the rest of the May filers. I hope that BR&A will have her appointment soon. Hay. God bless us always.

It was for AOS, and I do believe you are only supposed to get just one appointment letter. Do you know anyone who actually received 2 separate letters?

  4. Wow you skipped Biometrics?:wacko: I think you should follow up with UCSIS just in case its a mistake... Congrats anyways if you don't need biometrics to get your AOS processed.:dance:

Still there is a very slim chance we'd get approved w/o the biometrics letter.. And as I understand our case heading to CSC does not mean it's a good news.. If we get no other clues this week I'll try calling them..

  5. as of today, june 10, 2008 PST, no biometrics letter yet. huhuhuhu!! come on uscis! i want my letter of appointment!!!

I hear you! Our NOA1 is dated 5/25 and we still haven't gotten an appointment letter either. With everyone else seeming to get their's so fast, I was beginning to worry that it was lost in the mail or something ridiculous, but I feel better knowing there are some other people out there that it's taking a while for. Hopefully we'll both hear soon!!

Would the USCIS page show that an appointment letter had been mailed?

I thought it was just us - no biometrics letter as of yet..

  6. Hello,

I'm the foreign spouse and we just went to the SS office to find out we were one day (!) late (less then 14 day until i-94 expires) to get the SS card under the new last name (I already have one under my maiden name)

Do you think it's ok to use the new last name on all of the AOS filing forms? The copy of the SS card we'll be sending in will still be in my maiden name along with the rest of the document copies.. Not sure what to do here..

    Please advise

  7. Domestic travel within the USA is not a problem, immigrations status is checked only at the POE.

So just carrying a passport is sufficient then? Would carrying just an International DL for out of state travel be OK then?

I'm just trying to figure out the minimum amount of documents I'd need to carry around..

  8. Hello everyone!

A question came up - my I-94 is due to expire on May 29th.

We are set to get married on the 27th of April. As soon as we get the certificate we'll file the AOS paperwork.

If I need to travel (within the US) what identification would be sufficient for the authorities if we get stopped or such? Will they have a problem with my expired I-94?

I do also have a current INTERNATIONAL driver's license.

    Thanks!
