  1. what valid reason can i put for AP? i need to apply bec i came here on a tourist visa and i dont have my personal legal documents which i might need for my AOS interview and i am thinking the AP will help me with my problem. i need to go back to my home country and get the original copies of these documents.

also when filing for AP it says i need to print a one page letter explaining why i need to travel. do i have to have that document notarized as well? or do i just sign and date it?

thanks appreciate your insight! happy holidays!

  3. i had my biometrics for I-485 and EAD last nov 29 and i got my in my RFE1 around that time asking for my medical and affidavit of support. in the pink slip they gave me it indicated that i would be ineligible for interim employment within 90 days after they received my RFE response. i mailed in the reqd docs and touched dec 21 but only for my AOS. my EAD application status did not change yet. does this mean they will only send me EAD 90 days after dec 21? please enlighten me im like so bummed out and bored bec i dont have a job and all i do is stay at home and get fat. i d am hoping the rest of my married life wont be like this. hehe thanks and merry christmas everyone!

  4. re your case, file all of the following AT THE SAME TIME: (include them in one envelope and insert a cover letter indicating this are your original submission:

    I-485

    I-130

I-765 (EAD but in your case (F1), i dont know how this applies)

    I-693

I-864 (both petitioner and joint sponsor, if you need one)

G-325 (both you and your spouse)

double check the required documents so they can process you faster. cases like you who i assumed have already maintained a legal status for a period of time usually dont need interviews and are processed faster. but dont quote me on that, just see statistics and forums. hope this helps. goodluck and happy holidays!

  6. EAD and AP can and do take 90 days+ and yes there is a good chance you will be approved for AOS before you receive them...

  7. You could also use any mail envelopes that have been addressed to the two of you at your address; listing each other as beneficiaries on insurance; listing each other as each other's heir in wills; credit card statements showing both of you as card holders on the same account; listing each other as beneficiaries in retirement funds; listing each other as spouse with employer's contact lists; listing each other as beneficiaries on health care plans. Good luck at the interview.

can anyone send me a copy of an affidavit of a bona fide marriage? i need to make one and i have no idea how to go about. should it be notarized too??

    thanks and merry christmas!

  9. I am so sorry for you. A lot of people go through the same sh*t, and whats worse is that some of them even tolerate it as long as they get paid or smtg of that sort. You have done the right thing legally, but the moral consequences of leaving your daughter with her irresponsible, untrustworthy mother is unimaginable. Give it a second thought. You may have avoided the worst from your (ex)wife but you could also be missing the chance of giving your daughter the opportunity to live a better life than what her mother can give her, one that she truly deserves. God bless...

  11. November AOS filers, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I came here on a B1/B2 visa but I have recently applied (Oct 25, 2007) for I-485, I-130 and I-765 based on my marriage to my boyfriend who's a US citizen. I've heard that it takes 6-8 mos before USCIS processes my application. In the meantime I was admitted as a volunteer intern (not a form of employment) in a foreign diplomatic organization wc requires nonimmigrant A-2 visa for non-citizens. The internship is from Jan - May 2008, and my B1/B2 visa is only valid until Dec 2007. Do I need to apply for an A-2 visa even if the internship is not necessarily a form of employment? If so, what is the effect of this on my Immigrant visa application? which immigration laws are relevant to my case?

  12. Need your help!

  13. I am exhausted from reading all the different information on this site. My fiancée, she was not that when she arrived, and I are planning on getting married in the United States before her I-94 expires. The situation is this: I met her two years ago, and we extensively traveled the world together, including her visit to the US and subsequent departure. She came back again and was granted a 6 month I-94 which is due to expire Dec 31, 2006. Her Visa will then expire on Jan 15, 2007. We are planning on getting married shortly (in teh USA), but I am confused about the steps to be taken afterward:

    As I understand it:

Get Married here in the states and then we should file for AOS within 90 days (to be safe). However, her I-94 will expire. Will that become an issue? What else do we need to apply for immediately, EAD, SSN, etc.

Are we too close to the expiration date of her I-94?

Should she return to her country of origin before the I-94 expires even though we are married (which I think is a really bad idea)?

    Thoughts, help, etc….Thanks in advance

If someone knows a link that outlines some of my questions and/or steps, I would appreciate that as well.

We are exactly in the same situation. We got married early october and filed for I-130, I-485 and I-765 early november. Just make sure you and your wife have the same address. We didnt file for I-131 bec my wife overstayed her B1/B2 visa and this might trigger inadmissability. I'm not so sure about the SSN but we figured we're just gna wait for EAD approval before we file for SSN. Good luck to us!

  14. your possession of that visa does not in any way guarantee a visa for your husband. but considering that you have stable jobs in dubai i dont think there's any way your husband's visa app will be denied. remember you must prove that you have enough reason to come back to dubai i.e employment, family, property. good luck on your second honeymoon.
