This is probably a dumb question, but I really need to know.

My wife has a green card now. She had a work authorization that is expiring. We had gotten that during her adjust of status from K-1 visa. With her green card she doesn't need a work authorization anymore, correct?

I have recently gotten married and would like to know how I handle getting my wife's name changed in the wonderful world of the USCIS. Do I simply file with her 'new' name on the I-485 and see if they can pick up on it or do I have to kill more trees and fill out some kind of form?

It's been an interesting road; and a wonderful, fast, crazy, horrible, amazing, and now, almost complete ride.

Mariko's interview is April 21 in Tokyo. We have all the documents ready, we're at the last leg of the journey. She's done with work on April 30. The plan is to fly here around May 15.

This site has been awesome. I'm glad I didn't waste cash on a lawyer!

NOA1, NOA2, appointment made. April 21!

Things are flying now!

Mariko is counting down her last days at work, now. The visa is almost here!

Well, it's been a while, and the end is now in sight!

NOA 1 done, NOA 2 done, all the documents are gathered and the appointment is on April 21. We're excited and nervous and things are crazy! To make things more interesting, I have an interview this week for a new position in my company. Fortunately the excitement levels are keeping the stress in-check!

Hello!

I am at NOA #1 and my fiance is moving in with her parents. I have called customer service and they told me to file an AR11 change of address form. I have looked at the form and it refers to a change of address for an alien living in the United States. This seems like the wrong form to use because my fiance is still living in Japan! Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

I am still filling out paperwork as my fiancee gathers a few more documents and I've run into a question. How did you enter Japanese addresses into your G-325A and I-129F forms? My fiancee is from Tokyo and I am having a hard time fitting the Japanese addresses into the forms. Did you just add a sheet with this information?

I am afraid that I use the full version of Adobe so I was able to adjust the field sizes.

I have heard of others putting this information on a separate sheet of paper. They clearly indicated which section/item the information pertained to.

Ah, so it's okay to adjust the form to fit more information? I was wondering about that! I have a full version of adobe, but I've never actually used it. I think it might be easier to just add extra sheets of paper in this case, though with the G-325A it is kind of annoying because it will be create so many extra pages!

The problem I keep running into is with my fiancee's work addresses. The building alone will have a name about forty characters long! Worse yet, Tokyo addresses include sub areas and I don't know how to break them up to follow the pattern forms request. There's no state/province, though Tokyo is listed in a way that is like a state or a province.. gah!

I think what I will do is follow the advice of USCIS customer service and write the full address out as I would on mail and put that on an additional sheet. I guess since each of these sheets corresponds to a separate page of the G-325A I would be best off naming them uniquely and then I believe she should sign every one of those pages. I wonder how thoroughly they scrutinize this information!

It feels like they are just looking for any excuse to slow down a petition!

My life would be so much easier if my fiancee had a scanner and a printer!

And I don't even want to look ahead to translations of documents. It's stressful enough just focusing on this moment.

Thank god I am going back to see her for New Years, or I'd be going nuts over this stuff.

I just made my account today and am in the process of gathering the mountains of paperwork I must successfully navigate so my Japanese fiancee can come to America! I'm both excited and completely overwhelmed!

Is it a check box or is it a little plus sign? If you see a plus sign on a pdf, go into Edit -> Preferences and make sure the box for 'Show text field overflow indicator' is not checked.

I had this happen on my I-129F and it was covering information when printed. Talk about irritating! Adobe should have smarter defaults that don't damage information!
