  1. I think you take your prior medical records to the medical exam. There they will tell you if you need more vaccinations. If you do, I think they give it to you at the medical exam. I'm not sure though. JesNSteph- Sorry I don't know the answer to your question since I didn't fill out that form. Our interview is on the 6th as well. So maybe our SO's will meet. My fiances appointment is at 1 PM. Does anybody know how early you are supposed to arrive for your interview? What time are you going to go there JesNSteph?

  2. Hi! Nobody from Romania is waiting for Noa2 at the moment? Are we the only ones  ?

I'm waiting for Noa2.. actually I never got NOA1 but the check has been cashed.. I gues the Noa1 got lost in the mail...

Look on the back of your check that they cashed. Your receipt number will be on there. It should start with WAC and then some numbers. Once you have this you should be able to set up an account on the USCIS website to track your progress. The NOA1 isn't really an important document. All you need from it is your receipt number. Here is the number for the USCIS if you want to call 800-375-5283.

  3. Congrats JesNSteph. The embassy signed for our Packet 3 on 11/29, but when we called today they told us they don't have it in their department yet and to call back on Monday :( Oh well, 1 more weekend isn't going to kill us. Hopefully we can set it up Monday. Maybe we'll get lucky and there will still be some time slots open on Dec 6 and you our SO's can meet.

Lari_l The process goes surprisingly faster from here on. The service center will forward it the the NVC (which is the slowest part), then the NVC has it for a couple days and assigns a case number and mails it to the Embassy. Then the Embassy send you a packet, which you sign and return to them. Then you can set up your appointment. It has been about a month since we were approved and we are close to getting an interview date.

Thank you for the information, good luck and please keep us posted.

CherryBlossoms hi, I have another question: is there anything we can do in the meantime? any documents we can prepare? Thank you.

You can start preparing your I-134 Affidavit of Support. Here is the link to the form: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

You will need to send this to your fiance for the interview. I started ahead of time. You have to get a notarized letter from your employer, I orded my tax transcripts from the IRS (they're free, but take 5-10 business days to receive), gathered other financial documents as proof of all of the assets I was listing on the form. Then you have to get the form notarized. You can also start gathering your proof on ongoing relationship (from the time you filed until the present) Make sure you have everything before you send it because I sent it USPS Global Guranteed mail and it cost me about $100 and got there in 5 days. Your fiance can start gathering the stuff he needs. Police certificates from the cities he has lived in. Make sure his passport is valid for at least 6 more months. Copy of his birth certificate. More passport size photos (I'm not sure how many more, I think my fiance made 8 more) for the interview and medical. Once the embassy receives your application they will forward you a packet with a checklist and a form to sign and return to them before you can set up your appointment. I hope this helps. If anyone can think of anything I missed please chime in. Good luck.

  5. Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know Florin received his visa today!:dance::dance: He said the interview was very quick and the questions were simple. I will let you know all the questions he was asked. He said the worst part was all the waiting. He waited about three hours. He also said the interview was not private, that he had to speak with someone at a window, but that other people were in the room. But all in all, it was not that bad. He was given the actual visa today so he doesn't have to go back tomorrow to pick it up. He was very happy he didn't have to go back again! So he will be here on Wednesday! I can hardly believe it!

Good luck to the rest of you! I hope you all get good news this week!

    Laurel

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Now you will really have some happy holidays!

  6. Thanks for the info Pedsgirl. Musicgirl, GOOD LUCK on Monday! Here's my update. I finally got through to the NVC... their phones are always busy. They received my case and said they will forward it to the embassy within 1-2 weeks and gave me my new case number. So that was my good news for the weekend. I have a question if anyone knows the answer. Do I need to send the original or certified copies of my birth certificate to my fiance? Will they ask for them at the interview? Can you print out copies of the tax returns that you filed or do you have to have the ones that are ordered from the IRS?

  7. :dance::dance: VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!!! :dance::dance:

Daniel had his interview this morning and we got a YES!!! I am still in shock! He said that it was a tough interview. He had to answer a lot of personal questions, such as listing all my siblings names & ages (there are 7!!), telling the lady what we talk about on the phone, how we met, even why we were introduced by my friend, just lots of questions. He had a lot of explaining to do about his time in and out of Spain over the past 2 years, and why he didn't have a police certificate for that. But, in the end, he got his visa, and now we're trying to plan his flight here! I am SO thrilled and most of all, THANKING GOD.

It took us 193 days, but WE HAVE IT!!!!

Next step: Thanksgiving together, and Christmas, and then: Marriage January 12, 2008 (L)(L)(L)

p.s. Thank you for your kind words and prayers and encouragement. I will be waiting to rejoice with you all as you get your fiance's here. Congrats Laurel on Florin's interview date!!!

Congratulations!!! I'm so excited for you. If you get a chance could you post some of the questions that they asked at the interview, maybe just some of the trickier ones? That's so great that you will get to spend all of the Holidays together!

  8. YAY!!!! My fiance has his interview on November 19th!:dance::dance: If all goes well he will fly here on Wednesday the 21st, just in time for Thanksgiving. I can hardly believe it! After all this time we are finally going to be together (L)

I wish everyone lots of luck this week! You guys are next! I am sure you will be with your fiances by Christmas :luv:

So, I noticed something very strange....there must be something special about the 19th for me and Florin. Check this out:

Florin officially proposed to me on April 19th

Our NOA2 was approved on September 19th

    Florin's interview is November 19th

Our wedding date is January 19th

    FREAKY!!!

    Congratulations!!!

  9. Here's my update. I called the USCIS again today. The lady kinda scolded me for calling again. Everytime I call they say some version of you were just approved on October 31, why are you calling again? Oh well. The lady said that she's been getting lots of phone calls on the I-129Fs today and I told her that it was probably because we are all hoping to be with our fiances by Christmas. I made her check anyways and she said our case was mailed to the NVC this morning. Then she told me not to call the NVC for a couple weeks. I will wait 1 or maybe 1.5 weeks before I call. I guess they're just not very sympathetic to the fact that by the time we get our NOA2 we have already been waiting a very long time. Anyways, it was only 1.5 weeks before they mailed out my notice to the NVC so that's not too bad. They way things are going maybe I still have a chance at being with my love by Christmas!

  10. I got approved on the 18th and it sat in the mail staging area at CSC until 11/6, so maybe yours was in the same batch as mine. I'm going to call on Monday, by then they'll probably have it logged into the system (I'm betting they get them in the mail/delivered today)

We certainly hope we r in the same crate too :D I think we wont be calling till Monday as well :dance::dance::dance::dance: Ok see you guys probly on Monday after I get back to cz ;)

Monday is Veteran's Day, which is a federal holiday so they will be closed.

  11. Congratulations to Musicgirl and Pedsgirl on he fast progress. Good luck with your interviews. Musicgirl, thanks for posting those documents. Lari_l good luck on getting your NOA2, you're time is coming soon. Laura_Z how's the RFE thing going? I hear that once the information is submitted they don't take that long to make a decision. I'm just trying to be patient on waiting for the CSC to send my packet to the NVC. Hopefully it won't take them too terribly long.

  12. Hello everyone! I'm happy to see you've joined in this thread. I called the CSC to see if my petition had been mailed to the NVC yet. I was just approved on 10/31, but I was hoping that maybe it went out since I saw a touch on my account on 11/4. The lady says it hasn't gone out yet and that it can take a month for them to send it out. But I'm kind of getting mixed messages because the time before that when I called I was told it takes 1-2 weeks and that they are getting caught up on their backlog. So who knows. Good luck to all who are still waiting on their approvals. Maybe if we keep our fingers crossed the CSC/NVC will speed up and we can be with our loved ones by New Years.

  13. Hello fellow Romanian couples. Let's make this thread active again. I am currently waiting on a K-1 visa for my Romanian fiance. We just got approved on 10/31/07 and are waiting for it to go the NVC. I know there are at least a few of other couples going through the process right now and maybe our fiances will be able to share experiences. To all the couples who have already made it through their journey congratulations and your wisdom on the process is appreciated.

  14. I called today too just to see if I could get an estimate on how long it will take. They told me that they are almost caught up on their backlog. The customer service woman said that they send out shipments usually 2 times a week. She said it should take maybe 1 or 2 weeks and said I can call back to keep checking. Hopefully she's right. Here's to a speedy rest of the process. May we all be with our loved ones by Christmas (maybe wishful thinking, but oh well)!

  15. Hi everyone. I just signed up, but I've been lurking around the website for 5 months or so. I had no touches since 6/22 on my account and I check it daily. I decided to call today and to my great surprise I was told that I was approved today! It is weird that my status still has not changed on the USCIS website, but the customer service guy assured me that it was just because I was approved today and I should be receiving my notice in 1-2 weeks. Good luck to all June filers! I wish you a speedy approval!

Congrats! We have the same NOA1 Date... I hope I was approved too... How did you call? When I call, they always tell me the info on the website...it's frustrating... Let me know how you contacted them (what options did you pock?) Congrats again!!!!

Thanks! I just called the customer service number and did the RFE trick. Which is option 4. All I told him was my case number and my name and he told me that I was approved today. I asked him if he was sure a few times since there was no update on the USCIS website. I guess I just got lucky and got someone who was nice. I didn't have to wait long to get connected to a person either. I called around 5:30 Central time which is around 3:30 in California. Good luck to you!

  17. Hi everyone. I just signed up, but I've been a lurker for the past 5 months or so. I check the USCIS website daily, and nothing has changed in my account since 6/22. So I decided to give the old RFE trick a try today. To my surprise the guy told me that I was approved today! It is kind of strange that the status has not been changed on the USCIS website yet. The customer service guy told me that it was because I was just approved today and I should receive my notice in 1-2 weeks. At least they're moving along with June filers. I wish you all luck!
