  1. My wife was interviewed at the HCM City Embassy in October. She was asked to bring more documentation regarding the relationship to her son who would be coming to the U.S. with her. They wanted to validate the relationship of the son to her vs. the relationship with the father, her ex-husband. When she took the additional documentation as requested in November, they said it needed further processing. We have not had a decision yet so she wants to send even more documentation now...more pics etc. Will this help or will the file be pulled to add the information and the put back at the bottom of the stack? Thanks.

  2. My fiance is in Vietnam and I have seen all of the information about the K-1 and the process. However, does anyone know what will be required to get Vietnam to let her leave on the K-1 visa? Or is the K-1 visa granted by the U.S. automatically respected by the Vietnamese? Thanks.

If she gets a K1 visa and is not allowed to board a plane, it will not be because they are not respecting the visa.

So it should not be a problem? Vietnamese immigration will let her leave? Normally it is hard for a Vietnamese citizen to even get permission to visit the U.S. unless they can show evidence that they will definitely return. Thanks!

Yes you are right, you have to prove that you will return to Vietnam. Here is what I learned from other ppl, in order for you to visit U.S, age must be over 50 years old. If you're younger than that, you have to prove your assets, property (maybe more than one hunderd thousand dollars).

But if you have K-1 visa this is not necessary. The K-1 will let her leave without proving she will come back?

I still need help. With the K-1 visa, will she still have to prove that she will come back to Vietnam in order to get Vietnamese government to let her exit? Doesn't make much sense although we do plan to spend some time in Vietnam each year.
