  1. Hi All,

So my husband had his interview on April 14, 2022 and was issued a 221g white form. I am wondering if anyone here has the link to the whatsapp group for those who have been issued 221g forms. Just looking to get more information about that process.

    Thanks,

    Vicky

  2. Hi All, just wanted to give you a status on our process. My husband had his interview this morning. Sadly he was notified yesterday evening by the hospital that they had not submitted his medical report to the embassy and that his interview would be cancelled. He was told he would have to return to the hospital for additional blood work. He was already in Mumbai so he could not do it yesterday. He went to his interview appointment this morning, and he was informed that they could not proceed with interview until his medical report was received. He was told once it was received, they would reschedule his interview. So our wait will continue.

    Hello,

I contacted NVC again yesterday and spoke to the agent and I told the agent that, why is my case not being picked up and others are. The embassy is currently scheduling for May-2021 and he asked where are you getting this information. I said, I know few people who were momentarily completed after my and they already go their interview letters and the agent said, not unless they were expedited. Currently Mumbai is operating very slowly at limited capacity. I was like doesn't the embassy go by DQ date? and he was like we only schedule interviews on the bases of what embassy request us. So long story short, I asked for the supervisor and he said there is no one available at this time so he said we can schedule a call back, so I am expecting call from them on march 2nd.

I also reached out to my local congressman's office and gave them my info and told them about my experience with NVC. They said, they will request an inquiry and get back to me.

I am not sure, how much it helps but my question is, what am I supposed to do now? Do you think if I hire an attorney and they would help investigate?

I don't think hiring an attorney at this point will help expedite your case. They won't be able to pressure to get to an appointment. I think your best bet is to get the Congressman's office to try and get an update. Are you still waiting for an interview date? Another option would be to email the Consulate in India. I don't know how much success that will provide but may be worth a try. Email: support-india@ustraveldocs.com I would suggest you include your NVC case number and details so they can provide a response. Good luck.

Have you contacted your Congress Representative? I don't know how much it helps but I ask my Congress Representative staff person to please inquire as to the status of our case. They seem to get more complete answers than we do as Petitioners. Remember to be persistent, I know that it gets tiring all the legwork we do, but we need to be advocates for ourselves, the delays have not helped us.  Good Luck.

Updated the list. Few more March DQ date ILs and couple of April DQ date folks received ILs. 👍

We have an interview date!!! We received our Interview Letter this morning 3:50am PST. His appointment is set for March 15 at 8:30am. We are so excited!

I have updated our timeline in case anyone needs details. Fingers crossed for those still waiting for interview dates.

  6. Congratulations Missy & Sidd! So nerve wrecking this whole experience. Our QD was June 8, 2021, so we have a while more to go but I love hearing what you each post about the questions, etc for us to prepare. I was able to fly out to see my husband in November when India opened back up, and I brought our entire file with us. We spent a whole afternoon putting all the originals in order and into plastic sleeves to add to a binder. I brought a binder from the States, forgetting about the paper size difference so we did have to buy another one in India. We also have pictures from our relationship so far, and have included our correspondence through the years since my husband was in Hong Kong when we first met. My husband was told that the Indian Police Clearance Certificate was only valid for 6 months at the police stations so he has been re-applying for a new PCC every six months since we started our journey back in April of 2020. For the Hong Kong one we ordered one last year but were told it would be mailed directly to the Embassy. We just hope that truly happened because we have no way of checking until he gets his interview date.

Ever hopeful. Again, I encourage everyone to reach out to local representative in government to push the state department to keep asking Mumbai embassy where are your interviews.

Yes I reached out to my Congressman's office again last week to explain we were DQ on June 8, 2021 and haven't heard anything else. The staff member said she would send a request for an update to NVC and would reach back to me when she heard back. Will update here when I hear anything.
