  1. Good afternoon everybody. My fiancé had the interview this morning. They told him to go back tomorrow to get the visa. We are so happy. We want to say thanks to all the people at VJ. Thanks for your support. God bless this site and the persons on it. Thanks a lot. I will keep you posted later with all the details from the interview. Right now I don’t have any more information. Love is powerful, love is strong. Good luck to all of you.

Now we have to face the second part, the carta blanca. But lets enjoy this partial victory. Thanks again de todo corazon.

    Congratulations Yala!!!

  2. :innocent:Hey Guys

I am new to this site and I am looking for support. I been reading a lot about the timeframe and I understand is different from case to case. I file my application on May and I received the notice from USCIS on May 19th. Can someone tell me by their experience what will be the time frame for the approval.

    Thanks……

For Cuban beneficiaries it usually takes about 7 to 8 months. So if everything goes ok for you two, hopefully by november you guys might be together.

    Good luck!

  3. I would like to know what kind of documents we are ask for the interview. I understand we will receive a package with the requirements but my fiancé wants to be prepared and have everything in hand instead. Can someone let me know! Thanks

In our case we took to the interview our photo album (about 150 photos), the letters i had sent him (about 40 letters)

postcards, the first two travel tickets to Havana, calling cards and phone bills (I highlighted his number). You should have everything organized by the dates and use a see-through folder for all the papers because they will not allow him to take any envelope to inside the embassy. Also you guys will be ask for the affidavit of support (form I-134 with copy of the last three taxes, letter of employment and last 6 pay stubs), copy of your fiance's passport pages, the medical exam paper (not the x-ray) which as soon as he gets package 3 he should make an appoinment for, because they might take up to 3 months, police records and a few other forms included in package 3.

  5. That's wonderful news, congratulations! Thanks for posting the details. Did they ever ask you to leave the interview? Let us know when he arrives!

thank you... When they called his name i went with him to the window and she started interviewing both of us together, she asked me how we met, how many times had i traveled to cuba and who were two people that i have no idea where she got their names from (my aunt and her husband) then she asked me to wait outside and continued interviewing my fiance alone and told him to come back the next day to pick up his visa

  6.:dance: The inverview went pretty well, we got there like at 6 am and at 10 we were already at home. The officer (a lady) asked my boyfriend a lot of questions, how we met, when did we decide to get married, when are we getting married, if i was working or studying, who do i live with and where are we going to live after we get married, where is my mom working at, if our parents know each other, where is my fiance going to work once he gets here, etc... at the end she told him that everything was correct and to come back the following day to pick up the visa, and so we did.

Last wednesday we went to immigration and they ask him to go back again this week to pick up his tarjeta blanca and then go to vivienda for all the paperwork. Im more than happy, i cant describe the feeling, im hoping that in less than a month hell be here so we could be together for my b-day!!!:dance:

  7. hey juana, i just wanted to share something i heard about getting married in cuba ( which i dont know wheather it is true or not) ive been told that once you get married in cuba you have to wait two years to bring him to the US, im not sure if this is true, or if what they ask for is two years as "novios" , if you know anything about this please let me know, cause in case that we get denied at the interview im planning to marry him in cuba instead.

    Thanks!

where can we find the contents of this famous "Packet 3" ??

i think i more or less know what forms it will contain, from looking at the state department site, but i've never seen it referred to as packet 3.

please, someone tell us more about what is in Packet 3!

    thanks

    go to this website: http://havana.usinterestsection.gov/family...immigrants.html

im not sure but i think its form DS-230 part I and II

    thank you edwin

  9. Remember, you got to call the U.S. interest section to set up appointment to pick up pakage 3 because it will not be mail to your Fiance.

Have your fiance prepare packet 3. My husband did that and as soon as Rio had our petition he sedexed (the Brazilian fedex) his packet 3 to the consulate - shortly after we had our interview date. Packet 3 arrived at his house weeks to a month later.

No, he has not received it yet, the NOA2 just arrived last week, so i guess they will send it to the visa center first and then to Havana, anyways my fiance is going to try to get his passport meanwhile.

Oh really??? and what number should i call?
