  1. UPDATE:

I contacted the office where I had my original medical and here is the response:

Since you are changing your status you will require to supply a another medical

application as the previous one was only valid for your K1, but saying this you

are able to use the medical you had done in our office in May to adjust your

status. You must supply us with your current address, 3 passport photos, new

case number if you have one and our fee of $50.00 payable in cash or cheque.

Once we have received this information we will mail off the sealed envelope.

If you have any further questions please feel free to email me again.

  2. humm... when I submitted my hubby's I693, he had his medical in April 2009 in Korea. so i just had our civil surgeon fill in the vaccination part. All others were crossed out N/A. and we didn't receive any RFE.

I think the easiest way to get this out of your way is to do another whole new medical! I mean what else can you do?

I did the same thing as you, but unfortunately, they probably misplaced my previous medical. I'm hoping the office in Vancouver where I had the medical done can give me a replica of what I originally submitted at POE. I just really don't want to pay for another medical if it isn't absolutely necessary. Then again, I don't want to screw myself over with immigration by not just getting another medical. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

    Thanks

  3. Remember that you don't need a full medical if you had one in the past year. Bring in all of your vaccination records and ask them to fill out the supplemental form (Parts 1 and 5 only). I waited 15 minutes and paid $25. I saw Dr. Gonzalo A. Fernandez in NC.

Actually, I didn't even see the doctor. His secretaries collected my vaccination records and had me fill out Part 1 of the form. 15 minutes later they handed me 2 envelopes. One was sealed for USCIS and the other was my copy.

  4. I remember reading the AP application a while ago, thinking it would be nice to be able to leave the country while waiting for my green card. But after reading, I got the impression that you must actually have a reason for leaving the country before applying and that it's probably best to stay in the US until receipt of green card if possible. Am I correct?

  5. Hey guys,

I got married earlier this month, but I haven't sent my AOS application yet and my I-94 expires on Monday, Nov. 2. All I need is my joint sponsor's forms, which he can send tomorrow. Should I do everything possible (eg. overnight his forms to me) so I can send everything by Monday? Should I send my application and have him send his documents separately? Or should I not worry about the I-94 expiration date, have him send the package through regular mail and submit the entire application sometime next week?

    Thanks for your help!

  6. Hey guys, I'm adjusting status from K-1 to permanent resident

    Part 3A on form I-485

    and

    #13 on I-765

    both ask..

Place of last entry into the United States (City/State)?

Well, I took a flight out of Canada to Seattle then to Minneapolis and then to my final destination, all in one trip.

Do I answer my Departure city, Arrival city, or first layover in the US?

    Please help!!

    Thanks : )

  7. I read in one thread to bring duplicate copies of all I-134 supporting documents, such as banking information and the employer letter. Is this true or will one copy of everything suffice? If i do need duplicates, is a photocopy of the employer letter good enough or must it be another original on company letterhead?

Also, my fiancee is just graduating this month and doesn't have a firm full-time job in place yet. What is the best way for her to fill out the I-134 if she isn't currently working but has a date set for when she will start working part-time jobs?

I have a co-sponsor with a dependent wife and income of 55,000. My fiancee has really nothing to show. Will this be a problem? Should I transfer some of my money into her bank account to make it look better to the consulate or will it not matter? Do I need another co-sponsor?

Thank you so much for your help.

  8. Yes, this is an absolute possibility, although please note that you cannot book appointments during weekends. The Vancouver consulate is only open Monday-Friday excluding U.S. and Canada stat holidays. The Vancouver medical examinations only take place on Wednesdays (they may accommodate a Thursday under certain circumstances).

There is a recent thread about this in the Canada Region forum that goes into this in detail: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=186000

Thanks so much! Great information. Just what I was looking for.

  9. Currently there are 3 locations in Canada to get the medical exam done: Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. The Vancouver medical office provides same day service. Arrive at 6:30 am and they can provide results by 2:30 pm. My question is, should I try to schedule the medical exam and interview on the same weekend? This will save me time and money flying back and forth to Vancouver. What do you all think? Is this possible/recommended? Thanks for your help.

  10. Yeah, it doesn't tend to work like that. :(

Check out the Canadadian Regional forum here on VJ and ask those fine folks there for the best contact information.

I'm going to assume that they will claim you have abandoned your case and sent it back to the US a long time ago. You will probably have to start all over with the process explaining the reasons why you abandon your first.

    Best of luck to you.

Good news! After contacting the consulate, they said cases are usually closed after 1 year inactivity. However, for some reason, my case still remained open. So after updating my biographical data and submitting new letters of intent, they have given be the go ahead to proceed with medical exam etc. I don't have to start all over after all!
