I'm sorry to report that Carty's visa was denied today. We have to file something called a I-601, Application for Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility now.

My husbands interview in London is on June 17 at 9:00am

Hello guys, I am waiting for my interview on June 17 in London, Embassy. I was working here and I want to know and book for my plane ticket as soon as I find out if I can have a visa. But I am a bit worried if how many working days before I can have my visa in my hand after my interview. Any help from those who had this kind of experience... Thanks
My husband (Carty) has the same interview date in London. His appointment is at 9:00am but he plans to be there when they open.

Just an update if it helps anyone: my husband's passport with visa was delivered two days after the interview. Amazing! We may even try to move his flight up.
Thanks Jennie Ann, my husband will be going through the London embassy as well, so this is good news!

YAY our month is finally here. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of the cheapest way to make phone calls to a land line in the UK?
It can not be by Skype or similar, because my husband needs to phone his aging father who says "he's too old to learn computer stuff."
Thanks for any suggestions.

Thank you both

I was just wondering if anyone has recent experience and can tell me how long it generally takes to get your passport back after the interview at the embassy?
This is for an IR1 visa. Thanks.

Wooohoooo, ONE day after the CC and we have an interview date assigned. June 17 in London. Yipeeee
-
Congrats! London seems to be pretty quick with scheduling interviews – I called an NVC operator 2 days after my CC and had a date!
Oh that is very good news. I hope we get a date set that quickly.
-
After a difficult RFE, today Carty and I finally received our CC! We will now wait for an interview date at the London Embassy, hopefully in June.

Congrats on getting interview dates!

I was just looking at the US Embassy in London website, and it says that "The medical examination must take place before the visa interview. The Embassy will not schedule the interview until they have received the results of the medical examination."
I'm confused now because I was under the impression that we had to wait for an interview date before my husband could schedule his medical. I also realize that different consulates follow different procedures, though. Can anyone help me with this or direct me to the right place to look?
London Consulate actually requires the medical to be done before the interview. You do not even have to wait for an interview date to schedule the medical. We want to be ahead of the game as much as possible so my husband scheduled his medical today and we are still waiting for our CC with NVC.

AOS and IV fees paid. Mailing off I864 packet today. Things are finally starting to move. Yay
-
Finally got the system to let me in so I could pay my AOS fee

I was just able to finally get in. Maybe it is fixed for good! Go try now!!

Your jinx worked. I just got through!

I just phoned and spoke to an operator who first told me to check my browser (which I have done so I told her so). Then told me if I can't get it to work to pay by the alternate method (postal mail). Which will take longer and give me no way to follow the status!
So then I asked her, 'have other people been phoning to complain that the system is down or is this just my case number?'.
To which she replied 'oh other people have been phoning in as well'.
So the system is messed up.
The one thing is, I would imagine they make it a priority to sort it out, since this particular part of their system is the part that receives the $$$!

Did you get the email from NVC with AOS? If not just wait the email and then you will be able to log in. If you have the email from NVC with AOS invoice contact the operator. I remembered that I read somewhere on VJ that if you can not log in to make the payment you must use the alternative method using a check but this takes longer time(online payment is taking about 1-2 days). Good luck.
I did get the email with the AOS. I phoned and spoke to an operator who told me if I was having trouble to use the alternative method but also that other people were having trouble with the system as well. (So it doesn't appear to just be my case number).
I really don't want to use the alternative method as not only will it take longer but I'll have no way of tracking it.
Visa Approved (via I-601) but ESTA denied!
