  1. This is what a friend of ours took to his interview. He had a whole album with printed pictures with dates and the place labeled at the back of each picture. It has like trips him and his wife took together plus wedding pictures.

Avidafitsof support from your friends and  relatives ( atleast 4 or 5) showing your marriage  is valid ( try looking some up on google) . ANY membership you guys have together, sports, religious, clubs etc

Bank statements together, leasing, car ownership together.  Evidence ,plane tickets of trips you took together anywhere, utility bills with both your names on it.

I don't think you need a SSN for most of this stuff. Worth a try

  2. Our lawyer has only used my spouses income (i am barely about to start working in 2 weeks) she said we dont need to add that i'm working now and can add later if necessary during the interview time if any. But we've gotten an RFE before requesting a co sponsor previously. Is this the method to go about it? Unless we get an RFE they dont file for sponsorship?

She was the lawyer for one of our friends and did it the same way. But they ended up getting an RFE for a co sponsor. When we asked her she said she wont add any documents that are not needed.

Just wondering if this is how the process is. If it's a step by step and we cant hand in forms before hand if we know the outcome.

  3. Just out of curiosity, My husband works and earns around 70,000/ year. I do not work but i am the petitioner filing for greencard for my husband. In our previous application (which got denied) we couldnt file with just his salary and they needed a co sponsor. I was not working at the time and had one of my relatives do it. Long story short- it was denied because the lawyer messed up the paperwork.

My question is if i get a job that pays 21,000/year do they use that value or the value after tax deduction and would they combine both of our salaries together to show that we wouldnt need a cosponsor. We dont have any children (only 2 household members)

Is it a problem if i get job after the application for I485 is sent or should i get a job and then send in the application?

  4. Reason for denial :

Because we failed to submit - a properly completed and signed From I-864, Affidavit of support, from the petitioning sponsor with all pages present and of the latest edition date, the petitioning sponsors social security number, a correctly calculated household size, and  the petitioning sponsors federal income tax return for the most recent tax year with all supporting documents.

But our lawyer has stated that he sent in all of those things and the one thing that they may have picked at would be the social security of the primary sponsor  (me). But he said there's no chance they would deny it because of that.

  5. My husband is here on a work visa and i am an American citizen. We got married and applied for a greencard through a lawyer. We got out first RFE asking for a sponsor
(as i am not working) and tax forms and such. which we sent everything in (lawyer said he did). But now it is past almost 6months and we received a RFE for form i130 asking us to submit more evidence to show that our marriage is real. We are currently working on that. We got both our names on the lease, car title has been added, we got medical insurance together and bank statements. We also have travel documents for our honeymoon and pictures from the wedding nad with family and friends.

At this point most of the lease and car title and medical insurance has only been added this month. We are also working on Affidavits of support from family and friends.

But now the main issue is that our i485 has been denied. We received the notice only after 2 weeks from sent date. The lawyer says everything has been submitted except for maybe my social security (it was submitted in previous forms) and that it has to be their fault.

Should we reopen the case or refile? Lawyer says it takes almost 1 year for reopening.  Can someone advise us on the RFE and denial notice please?
