I am getting a little confused: some of you, guys, write that your petitions are "touched".

Where do I get this infrormation from? I check my case on-line, but it just says "received and pending".

Dear anjelica- I hate to take the happiness away- but those touches just mean someone scaned your file- which could mean anything actually. don't worry as it may look like forever- if you do everything thorowly and double and tripple check your package before you send it- and do everything on your part the fastest and most detale oriented way- this is your best bet on a speedy approval. we weren't "touched" once and just got the notice on our approval one very happy day.

I'm happy for you you created the account online- usually it works well and lets you know the fastest about any change on /your case..

if you read around the forumes you'll get a lot of useful info- and also as I said- you can ask me- I have a fountain of info after this long exausting process..

Noup! when we filed our I-129F we used N/A as well- depends what you apply it to if the question is about something that does not apply to you- you put n/a , really makes no difference. This is not the part that should worry you really!!!

Focus more on filling out all spaces, giving accurate info and on every attachment stating to which question and section it refers to.

He has enough cash to make the difference for 5 years, especially with my assets. He is going to call the embassy once he gets his packet and knows for "sure" which embassy/consulate we are assigned to and will ask if they can provide any information on this. In the mean time I'm still sending what I have so far.

I think it's painful for any VJ to read this post, for all of us (as said many times before) on the same slow and overcrowded boat, waiting to see the people that make this life bearable for us. nibbling on our nails, smoking cigarettes(those who do), working half to death, and basically doing anything just to keep our mind of the huge gap in our lives that is there due to the lack of this one person we love most.

Personally my heart is aching for you and for each couple on this website that is the inevitable victim of the monstrous bureaucratic system.

To give you pointers on how to keep the time wonderful...well obviously chat , talk and do video chats as much as you can- I've read about a couple here in VJ that left their Web Cam' on even when they went to sleep- so that it will be the first thing they see when they wake up....and this is really one of my favorite parts- to see Adam as I open my eyes and know how lucky I am to have him there...(even if there if far away)

besides that- one of the things we miss the most- subconsciously is the smell of our partner- so , sending a letter doesn't cost much, send her a piece of your basketball t-shirt- wrapped well in plastic...as smelly as it seams to us in the everyday life- I can tell you honestly, I even miss Adam's morning breath, when you love a person- you love every little smell about him/her.... maybe a piece of cloth soaked with your aftershave....maybe your deodorant, or Shampoo....

I still sleep with Adam's T-shirt as my pillow, (sadly it almost lost all his smell already... )

try to think of something funny to say to her- try to stay strong for her- think that it's not easy on her either, and she is in need of your strength probably....

Don't hold crying back....I'm parting from my man for the second time now for a long period of time, and the first time I cried like a baby- and it made it easier, this time around I tried to hold it back, and my body almost collapsed physically from inside. let the sorrow out, it's important, although exhausting.

Don't Worry too much though, when she's with you finally, you'll never find yourself pondering "why am I with her" if you go through this, your heart will always know why you are with this lady out of all the woman in this world.

After all- the USCIS the EMBASSY and the NVC test you on the reason why- a million times..

What do you mean- you need his birth certificate?

As far as I understood- the only thing needed for the I-129F is the petitioner's(the US citizen's ) birth certificate!!!- no one ever mentioned sending my Birth certificate?!?

Now I am seriously worried- I thought that one will be needed only at the stage of the embassy in my country?!?....

Tell me I misunderstood it!!!

I am worried enough as it is about the processing of this petition..(giving so many people hell over nonsense- such as signatures that are in black inc and don't look "real" enough)..

My dad and step-dad are retired and living off of Social Security. My mom is deceased and my uncle has 2 kids, a wife, and has an unstable job situation.

I have no one else I can ask. Until I read a few threads here I thought making poverty guidelines was enough, it is only recently I found the 125% rule.

He can't sponsor himself when it comes to his family and savings?

The sponsor by the AOS- must be a US citizen with his essets domisiled in the US

meaning- it must be some one who is a citizen of the Us and all his essets are in the USI'm sorry to hear about your situation- that you'll have a hard time getting a co-sponsor...

Just a quick question. We're almost ready to send the package today and we're wondering whether we need to send the Declaration of how we met: it's the single typed page attachment regarding question 18 of the I-129F.

Do we actually need that or we should be fine with pictures and flight itineraries?

We are really just at the same point as you- but I have a strong feeling (from what I've read here) that the more details you provide, the more evidence you show and the more specific you are, the lesser are your chances to get an RFE-

right now I regret not sending more proof along with the petition, but you still have it with you- so:

1. do write a letter (might not be necessary but can't hurt)

2. send by overnight mail with tracking number (helped us a lot to determine if our hard work was received at the USCIS)

3. register at uscis.gov ( an update by e-mail is available- and is convenient)

4. pray real hard...=]....and talk to your sweetheart a lot...=]]]....I trust she misses you just as much as I miss my love...

We listened to the wise guide and used overnight mail that requires a signature once recieved- this way you can have a tracking number on those forms that you've worked so hard to get...=]...and you can go to the usps.com website and see exactly when was your package recieved and who signed for it...

on the hard coppy- your reciept number is actually your first case number with the uscis.....=]....good luck people.....

if you know how to work the website- I think India is included- calls are for free from user to user( I think India includes landlines only)- but listen- 300 min' for free a month is going to save you a lot!!

the turms are as follows:

you have to be registered with your land line, your spouse has to be registered on his/her land line(or cell- to the US it is free to both). then you need to pay like 5$ on your account and 5$ on his/her account and then both of you get 300-500 min' for free between the registered phones a month!!- every month new 300-500 new free min'- plus their rates are good- but free is free- and you might as well take it...

me and my love did it recently after a friend told me about it- and it saves me money- our callingcard for like 500 min' would cost me 20$-25$ and now I get it for free...

Don't take what I say for fact- before you register- check the add on the left hand side- that sais- calls between jajah users for free-

We are happy to be here- besides the fact that it's exiting for me to know I'm going to marry the LOVE OF MY LIFE- it's also heart warming to see the people here are good to each other- and I promise to fill out my time line and help as much as I can to future members.

Personally, I feel like the British specifically and the western world in general has a lot to answer for in regards to the messed up state of a lot of regions (Israel, Africa, etc etc) in the world today. Their earlier imperialism destroyed traditional cultures around the world and both tied different ethnic groups together and tore apart other ones. Then after WWI and even more so after having not helped stop the Holocaust, they felt guilty and they, or in some cases the UN, decided they had to stop the imperialism and just gave the land to those they felt most sorry to, which of course just made a bad situation worse in a lot of areas.

Besides that, the reason the Jews were 'given' Israel was that both the Europeans and the Americans at the time wanted nothing to do with them but also didn't want their poor state of affairs on their conscious.

AND another point to add on this whole situation, Israel was attacked by several Arab states almost immediately upon being created and Israel won the wars despite being such a new nation. People say they have taken land that wasn't theirs, but they won wars and then claimed land. Is that not how civilizations form and grow? Is that any different then how America was formed? Not really except that it happened way later in history. You look at Europe and its borders, how did they get there? Wars were fought and territory traded hands.

Just wanted to add that I mean no disrespect to anyone with different opinions or from any ethnic or religious group. I don't know how things could have been done differently to avoid problems. Various groups have claims to the same lands in several different parts of the world, and generally, I find that listening to each group, they all make sense and have valid points, who is to say which side is more right? so then what do you do? Whoever gets to the land and wins battles will get to claim it, and then there will be fights over it and debates, but the fighting will continue as long as each side feels they are entitled and that compromise is impossible.

I voted yes because there's nothing we can do to change history. I believe Israel should exist in a different form (I prefer a secular one-state solution in which Arabs, Jews, and Christians have the same rights, etc.), but given the lack of restraint on both sides that is not going to happen any time soon. It might be a good idea if the Western nations stopped supporting Israel and the Arab League stopped taking the side of Palestinians because part of the problem is that the international community makes things much worse.

As to the historical situation, blame Zionism if you wish. As nationalisms rose in the 19th century and gave birth to previously non-existent identities (think Germany, Hungary, Mexico, and so on), some people of Jewish descent decided they had the same aspirations and started a movement to reclaim the ancient homeland. Of course, Jews had always lived in the area, but now people actually migrated to "Israel." The idea of a Jewish state was already discussed after WWI when the allies considered giving the territory to Zionist. Interestingly, until the crucial point in 1948 when Israel was founded, Jews and Arabs were living peacefully side by side.

A third party walked in and gave a chunk of Palestine to the Israelis, and Palestine was supposed to not be upset. I know this is a fantastic amount of oversimplification, so maybe someone can fill in the details of my dodgy history education here?

I think most of us here are either Jewish or Christians(not because I overlook other religions- but I believe that is the majority here).....and both of our religions have pretty much the same book- so how can you disregard a proof that most of the world considers to be the holy book......( even the "koran" BTW states- that Jews were in Israel since the beginning of time).........and proves beyond all doubts that this land was given by god and won over by many wars and had much Jewish blood spilled over it....how can you still be confused about how the land of Israel belongs to the Israeli Jewish people??????

if the holy book is just a hoax- then lets dismiss the entire church!- lets take apart the synagogues, and while you're at it- take down all the muslim chapels- they are just fake as well!

Lets take all the people in the US and send them back to Europe- and give it back to the few Indians left.....O!- and Australia to the Aborigines, New Zealand to the Maurise and South Africa to the native Africans.
