  1. Thanks for the reply and i am quite concerned about that taking some time to get done

thats why I am wondering if it is possible to get the varificaiton done BEFORE the interview

instead of afterwards. If it takes a week I will have to leave without her and pretty much

    eat her ticket.

She was able to get the seminar take care of before the interview. She completed it last week.

Just looking for a short cut but there may not be one available.

  2. I am a bit worried about the time crunch I got myself into.

I wanted to be there during the interview to support my sweetheart and

she didnt want to fly alone here to the USA so I got a ticket to Manila

arriving 5 am on the day if her interview (April 25th) cutting it way too close I know

but it was the best I could do. I can only get so many days off work so I had to

book the return flight for May first, six days after the interview. Then i learned

that her documents have to be validated (yes we already payed the fee for the validation).

Seems like that may put us in a bit of a crunch, time wise, and to make matters worse

the plane tickets cant be changed. I got them online through Cheapo Air.

So I was wondering if there is any way at all to get the documents verified before

we go to the interview so that part is taken care of already and then maybe we

can get the fiance visa a little bit sooner (in time to make the flight on May 1st)

Any Ideas how to get that done? or if it is possible or not?

thanks for any help or advice.

    Terry

  3. OK we received approval on 3/17/08. It has been a couple of weeks now. How can you find

out if NVC has sent it off to Manila emabassy? What is their number to call them or do you

find out online and what is their web address?

Is 2 weeks a reasonable time to wait before contacting them? Seems like many get their packet

in 2 weeks or am I mistaken about that as well. Any info or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Terry

  4. Maylin was finally approved on 03/17/08

She is the one who discovered it and called me at 12:30 am crying. I asked what was wrong and she said i am approved. I had just checked at 8:00 PM and nothing so I told her she was crazy they dont do it in the middle of the night. But she read it to me and made me get out of bed and see for myself and sure enough she was right. They updated the website in the middle of the night. Oh well, I will take it. Finally this part is over after a 6 week delay (RFE) because they lost my birth certificate.

    :)

  5. Well I sent the copy of my birth certificate and a copy of my passport on friday they wont get it until Tuesday because of Presidents day holiday but a strange thing is happening at uscis. My file was touched on Friday and on Sunday and today even though it is a holiday. I am not sure why they are touching my file when it is supposed to be in suspense until they receive my documentation but I am not complaining about it. It Just feels so good to be touched...LOL.

  6. OK, I finally got the RFE in the mail.

Wow it only took them a week to send it 200 miles. I could have walked there and got it sooner.

How rediculous is this: The say they have insufficient evidence of my USA citizenship. i sent them a

brand new birth certificate with a seal of authenticity and a copy if my passport signed and authenticated by a lawyer and what do you think they are asking for as proof?

You got it ... a birth certificate and a passport, which is exactly what I sent.

Actually, I am relieved that it is not anything complicated. This should be easy, just time consuming

to order another birth certificate and another signed copy of my passport. :(

This whole thing is just sooooo frustrating.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

God bless each and every one of you.

  7. Thanks to everyone for the replies. I hate that it happened on a Friday. The three day wait to find out what on earth they want is difficult but I know many of you have been through it before and made it OK so there is hope for me also. I am the kind of guy that paces in from of my micro wave so patience is not my strong suit...LOL

I will report here as soon as I find out what it is.

Thanks again for the responses and input here.

  8. I tried to save myself the embarrassment of asking for the meaning of the term adjudicated as used in the time line

but i can not find a glossary here on this site anywhere and nothing turned up so I guess I have to show my ignorance here for all to see.

When it gives the possible date for adjudication does that mean the date of NOA2 or the interview and why did the date only move 10 days when I put in the date of my RFE. I am hearing it will be more like a month or 2?

    Thanks,

    Terry

  9. Like most of you, I go to the uscis site and log in to see if my date has changed in the last updated window. For over four months

nothing changed. Yesterday however, I was elated because to see that I had a new date placed in that box it changed to 02/08/08. Then I switched over to the site that you put the receipt number in and was sooooooo bummed to read that it did not say "approved " as I had hoped but instead it said they needed more info and that my case would be in suspense until the info was provided. I called the uscis with the RFE trick instructions I had copied down only I was not using it as a trick, I indeed had a RFE . But the weekend was coming so I wanted at least a hint of what it might be. So I got a guy on the line, officer so and so and I told him my story and asked him to help me out and give me some hint as to what it is they wanted. He gave me nothing. Said he was only looking at a computer screen that said that I was sent and RFE but it could be anything, Can you tell me who my officer is, I asked. No, sorry I cant tell you that. You will have to wait until you receive it in the mail. Then the wonderfully ironice question... is there anything else I can do for you?... LOL Like... what have you done so far... nothing.

I have been going crazy trying to figure out what on earth they want. I buried them with proof of meeting. Pictures, plane tickets boarding passes going and coming, hotel, restraunt and store receipts. The only thing I can imagine is that I checked yes for marriage broker because my lawyer told me to. I didnt feel I really needed to since I didnt pay them a dime. I was a guest and she sent me a message of interest and they usually delete personal info but they left her skype # and I called her. So I checked yes and my lawyer said it would not be a problem because they are a German company and the USA has no juristiction over them. I was comforted to hear that it hasnt seemed to be an issue with others up till now. So who knows if that is it. I guess I will find out next week and I will let you know.

But I wonder, how long is this going to delay us. Will they deal with it as soon as I provide them the info they seek or does my file get burried at the bottom of a big stack. Any one else like to share what their experiences have been concerning

delays? How long did it take to get resolved? Has marraige brokers become an issue? I covet your prayers for sure.

    Thanks,

    Terry

  10. :)

Congradulations. I am so happy for you guys.

I received NOA 1 on Oct. 1 and have not gotten anything yet. How can u tell if our file has been touched?

I went on the site and it just says we are pending.

Your receipt though has given me hope and encouragement. I am delighted for your progress.

    Sincerely,

    Terry and Maylin

I am so happy everytime someone is approved.

I am the same way. I do a little jig everytime I read some sort of good news on the site. . .NOA1  NOA2  Petition being tracked  petition rec'd at NVC  petition rec'd at embassy  interview  visa in hands  . . . if only I was a better dancer. . .

  11. I am so concerned about this imbra thing. I used a immigaration lawyer and he told me to put yes

on the imbra question. I got her address accidently on filipina kisses site. I was not a member and never

sent them a dime but when visiting their site they usually illiminate all personal contact info but they missed

her skype id and did not take it off. We chatted on skype never went through filipina kisses. I explained this to

the lawyer and he said just put yes that u met on filipina kisses because they are a german company and

the usa has no juristiction over them.

Now i read here that the definition says a company whether or not organized under usa law. So it appears we

are screwed. Should i be expecting an rfe? and an additional delay? If so i will be so pissed at the expert

immigration lawyer that i payed to help me get this right. Please advise.
