  1. Hello I have a question concerning traveling... I have my green card of 2 years, that i have to renew in a year or so, I travelled a lot those past month going to visit my family in france every 2 to 4 months, staying there no more than a week. My husband works for an airline and I`m an on call employee due to my health issue. I wanted to know if I`m allowed to travel that often without getting in trouble with the imigration... Do you think I will get some kind of problems when it will be time to renew my green card?

    Thanks for your answers!

  2. Sorry, I didn`t know where to post and need help filling the form I-90...

my mother got robed on vacation on the way back to the US, they took everything, passport and green card as well... she`s now back to the US but the consulate told her she needs to file this form to replace her green card...

Her green card had a mistake on her name, she never corrected it, so I thought that would be a good oportunity to correct it as well...

my question is on Part 2/ question 1: what does commuter means? Part 2 /question 2 :can I check boxes a. and d. at the same time?

the paper supporting that it was a mistake on the name can she send a copy of her old green card (date is passed) with the mistake and a copy of her passport (with no mistake on the name) as well as her drivers licence?

Sorry again, but I really need some help...thanks for your answers

  4. Hello i wanted to reply too, my case has beeing pending after our interview back in June 2008! We went several times at infopass appointment, but nothing new... we are beeing told to wait, I went back to do my fingerprints because they were expired.

I had to reniew my EAD, I`m actually waiting for it.

Back at the interview, the officer asked us a lot of questions, it lasted 30-45 min, took a lot of evidences and a lot of our pictures, told us everything looked fine but couldn`t approve us because of one mistake on my medical. He then gave us a paper and told us we had 30 days to send him my new vaccination sheet. The same day we went to the doctors office and to UPS to send him overnight the new vaccination sheet... since then nothing.

We went 3-4 times to infopass to have the same answer... You have to wait.

So i don`t know maybe they are reviewing the file again because i`m adjusting through visa Waiver with a long overstay...We stayed 4years fiancee and are married for 2 years now. So lets see what will happend.

We are very scared to be denied. We are just waiting now.

  5. Oh my god,

I'm sorry that you have to wait for so long.

They officer told us nothing. Three days after the interview we got a RFE (proof of bonafide).

IS it common that people have to wait many months for a decision after a RFE??

What is the reason why it takes so long?????

I don` t think so, i don`t know the reason why it takes so long, i guess it depends on the person you have for the interview and who is handling your case after...

you should get an infopass. For my case if there is ne answer after 3 months at my infopass i will have to get the senator involved.

  6. For me it` s been 7 months since the inteview :crying: , the officer told us to send him a new medical with all the vaccinations that everything looked good but he couldn` t approve us because of the medical and that when he will recieve it he will take his decision, I went to the doctor the same day and sent everything overnight to him... still waiting and nothing  . I went to renew my fingerprints 2 days ago, so now i have to wait 90 days before doing a new infopass.

You should take an infopass appointment, what did the officer tell you the day of the interview?

  7. Hello everyone.

sorry i posted this first on the AOS form visa and work forum, wanted to have more answers...

We sent our file back in july 2007, we had our interview back in june 2008.

during the interview the officer asked us many questions about ourselves, wanted to see what proof we had to bonifide our mariage and wanted to see our pictures.

We had a lot of bank statements, bills insurance, tax in our both name, plane ticket and hotel stay... he took everything. He then ask to review our pisc, took a lot of them for himself to put inside the file.Asked about the pictures, where it was... that he`s been to rome and Paris too...

Continue to ask so many questions, but it didn`t seems to be like interogation it was more like a discussion.

I don` t know but maybe the fact that i came here on a VWP in 2003, didn`t intend to stay but after 3 month my love proposed.

The officer asked me twice when my hubby proposed, why i came in the US i told him to visit my boyfriend, he then asked did you intend to stay? i said no i had my plane ticket to go back, he then said ok everything look good but i cannot approve you today because of one vaccination on your medical... send me a new medical and i will see, i`ll take a decision and you should recieve my answer in 4 to 8 weeks.

We sent a new medical the same day by UPS overnight.

Time passed i had a first info pass that let me know that they have 90 to take a decision. After 90 days nothiing. Second infopass, answer: you have to wait but it seems that your fingerprints will be outdated in november, come back in 3 month.

Third infopass, the officer tells me that they are waiting for one file to be answered...gave me an appointment for fingerprints and told me to wait 90 days after fingerprints are taken... Maybe then you`ll get an answer to tell you if you are approved or denied.

Is there anyone who had a similar story? does it happen? i` m so scared i don` t know what to do... seems like everuthing the last summer was against me, after the interview i got diagnose with a cancer... now this. this too much to bare. thanks for your answers.

  8. I would recommend to get your senator involved. They should be able to give you a definite answer on why this is taking so long.

This is definitely taking way too long. Maybe you are stuck in a namecheck.

When you send the new medical, did you have a specific address to send it to? Maybe make sure that your medical paperwork was matched with your file.

I am sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis.

they told me at the infopass that they have the medical they recieved it... thanks lili

  10. un grand merci Cecy, and thank for every one else for the support, i`m so nervous that i cannot even sleep.

i`m just scared they will question the fact that we stayed 3 years fiancee and got married in 2007, or the fact that i was unemployed back in france (i have a copy of the letter they gave me when they fired me over there and a copy that i filed for unemployment right after)... i have my return ticket from back then.

right now i`m working i recieved my EAD last september and started to work in october. we filed our taxes jointly.

but before having my EAD i didn`t work, never tried to i was to scared to get cought.

I know i have to relax, but when you know that your life will be decieded on one interview it makes you so scared.

we have a lot of pictures together, from france, our trip to rome when he came to visit me, of course from here, we have two bank account on both name, phone bills, car insurance, credit cards...

i thought that if get denied there is no possibilities as for people who came on VWP... i don`t know i just don`t want to think about the fact that i could be deported and seperated from my husband for 10 years.

i`m just waiting for the appointment.

  11. hello every one, i am new in posting, but it`s been a while that i `m reading. i filled last july for AOS... i came in 2003

here on a VWP, to see my boyfriend for 10 days. after this short period he asked me to stay a little bit longer, it was so nice, just before my VWP ended he proposed. We stayed fiancee 3 years, the reason is that we both wanted to have our family for the wedding, his is in south america mine in europe, it was so hard to try to gather them that we finally decieded to get married in 2007 only with his mother present.

When i was in my country i lost my job (got fired), i filed for unemployment to be able to help my mother pay the rent (i was living with her ) i took 10 days vacation, knowing that i could not be able to travel if i find a job right away.

When we filed for Aos, i told the truth, i was unemployed.

i know i will get questions for that, i didn`t planed on staying here...

we recieve the interview date for june 19, i`m so scared, i`m so nervous, i don`t want to get seperated from my husband, i`m facing a 10 years ban in case we are dinied.

i just wanted to find a little support, i don`t have anybody to talk about it.

    thank you.
