  1. Hey guys!

I have a question! We have our interview on December 22 and my wife has her medical exam this Thursday, however she has not received a letter from the consulate with the interview date on it as of yet. She has, however, received the letter from NVC with the interview date, would this be sufficient to use?

Also, I have heard that having too much evidence at the day of the interview could looked at negatively. I always though that the more evidence one brings the better. Oh well, I feel stuck between trying to decide how much is too much then being afraid that I dont have enough... This is crazy.

    Thanks guys.

  2. yipee! case complete for us ! 38 days even with an RFE.

Congratulations Sasha!!! I'm glad the completion came as we expected it. 38 days is not bad at all. It took us 31 days without the RFE so your completion time was very good.

THe good thing is that since we got out of USCIS there have been more better days than bad ones. Kinda feels like you have been climbing a mountain and USCIS approval was the top and it has been downhill from there.

USCIS was aweful... their representatives were rude, impatient, and were not knowledgable (at least the ones I spoke to) and the processing dates were bogous. Thank God we didn't get a RFE there. And you're right that was that is was like going uphill and it has been all downhill after USCIS, almost exciting really.

I guess it would be almost preferable to get an RFE at the NVC if you had to pick one, at least you know they will process it faster.

Congrats to everyone with approvals !

  3. I can almost feel it. I really wish the automated system would tell me something.

Well they received my DS-230 package this last Tuesday. I called today and today they finally did something with it, as in opened it. Now we wait while it's "under review" She says 2 - 4 weeks for completion ughh I hope she is just saying that and it comes much quicker! But more than ever, I really hope there is still December interview dates left for my husband.

Hey, that is the same thing they told me today too. We must have spoke to the same robo 2-4 week person.

Let's cross our fingers and pray. I have been hearing and looking at everyone's time lines - it maybe one week (7 days) Let us PRAY!

Just spoke to NVC at 9:25pm ( ET ) I think I also have same Robo/Person she also told me they have received my DS-230 and wait for 2-4 week but I think they will be done with it by Tuesday. Rmusic

Our case number never pulled up anything in the IVR. Not a single time. I asked a few of their reps about it and they just said "oh thats wierd." I found that everytime I called after 11:30PM I always spoke to someone almost immediately.

I don't know about you guys but I really enjoyed the NVC process (in comparison with USCIS).

  4. I think I may have made a big mistake guys. On the I-864 packet I included the I-864As for other household members, however I do believe that I didn't sign each I-864A the other members did however. I'm trying right now to call them to see if they can pull the file and see if I signed it... fat chance I think. You guys think I should wait till we get a RFE if I didn't sign it or just send them the copies of the I-864A now and send them again?

  5. Ok cool!

I paid our IV bill today, hopefully it will show as paid by tomorrow. I'll have that 230 sent so it arrives Monday morning. We are all at about the same step it seems. This is great, compared to our long sad days at USCIS. I think once NVC completes my case I'm going to send them a thank you letter, I've kept notes of everyone I have talked to there at the NVC and almost everyone of them were very pleasant and actually knowledgable, unlike their USCIS counterparts.

  6. I emailed our 3032 on the 7th and mailed it through UPS on the 9th, but still no sign that they have received it yet. I'm getting kind of worried about it. Considering I sent the 3032 by UPS to Attn CMR instead of Attn ACL. The representative told me that that was incorrect but that it wasnt a big deal as they can forward it internally to the right department. I'm thinking I should have her resend it to me so I can send it to them again... From most people's time line the 3032 was accepted pretty quickly.

  7. Staying busy helps, my wife and I both work. I call her at lunch everday then we talk when we both get from work at night. Skype is a godsend! Skype to go even better.. cheap phone bills make and having the ability to call her at any moment makes me feel like she is right here with me or waiting for me at home. Imagining the everyday things we will do together get me excited. I used to complain about the whole process and it really got me down for awhile.. Now we just laugh it off and count the days. Stick in there, your love is made stronger by all this lame process. It'll make a good story for the kids and I'm sure we'll all have fond memories of the days when we'd stick by the computer or phone for hours.

Also, unlike most other relationships you get a real opportunity to know your other half really really really well... since all you can do is talk, think of it as a preparatory stage.

In the end, though.. I'm really ready for to get here so we can start our life together. Hopefully just in a few weeks now we'll get that interview if all go wells with NVC.

  8. Okay guys! Our AOS payment was put in out Friday 10-10-2008 and was accepted on Saturday! So now I am going to send the entire I-864, however I have had some problems with it. I got all my W2s, 1040s, 1099s, 1098s, and transcripts. My parents are doing a 864A, one for each, however they only have their transcripts, no 1040s, no W2s, no 1099s. Does this matter? I know it gives the option of either the forms OR the transcripts but I have always felt the that the more I send in the better. What do you guys think? Should I wait to get my parents extra forms or should I just send the whole thing in as is with just the transcripts.

I really think the transcripts should be sufficient. If the IRS is the issuing agency why do they need to see those other forms and reverify everything the IRS has already done...

  9. Hey GUYS!

I just got the AOS bill in the mail ! I already paid online. However, I noticed they mispelled her NAME ! I called to ask them about that and the lady said that if it was their error that they would fix it with no problem. She said she would just send the information up to a supervisor! Should I believe her and leave it at that, or should I send a copy of her passport with a letter requesting them to correct her name?? OH MY, silly how a little error they make can stress a person out!

  10. We are now at the NVC and I am working on our forms. On the I-864 it asks for her A# Alien Number. Where can I find this number? I was told it would be on the back of the negotiated check from the I-130. I have a copy of the back of this check, but there are mutliple numbers on it.

How many numbers are in the Alien number? Where would it be on the back of the check. There is also a stamp of some sort that has AOS marked on it, would it happen to be this number?

  11. 1. Certificado de Policia This has to be done at Av. Aramburu 550 (take any bus that goes to the Via Expresa, get off at Puente Aramburu, walk 2 blocks to the big green building, use the side entrance) a. pay fee of about s/. 20 at any BANCO DE LA NACION b. get one passport sized foto. You can also take the photo there, but it takes a looong time, and costs s/.5 c. get a photo copy of DNI d. get a photo copy of the payment voucher from the bank (both copies can be made right outside the side entrance) Ready to pick up the next day.

    2. Certificado Judicial de Antecedentes Penales This has to be done at the Ministerio del Publico, Av. Abancay. Use door 1. Get there early. a. pay fee of s/. 60.40 at any BANCO DE LA NACION b. the photo is taken there, and there is no charge. c. get photocopy of DNI d. get photocopy of payment voucher from the bank Ready to pick up the same day, but then you have to take it somewhere else to get it ´legalized´which can only be done before 2 pm.

Legalization of Antecedentes Penales This has to be done at the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores on the corner of Ucayali and Lampa, about 3 blocks from the Ministerio del Publico. a. wait in line, show the document to be legalized. they only let in one person per document. b. pay s/. 22.25 once inside if you get there early enough, you could pick it up in a few hours. if not you have to go back the next day. There will be a line, outside and inside. expect to wait about 45mins to pick up the newly legalilzed document. on the ticket they give you to pick up your doc, there is a time written in red marker. ask the doorman what hour the people in line are waiting for because you might not have to wait outside.

    3. Certificado de Antecedentes Judiciales a nivel nacional This needs to be done at the INPE Av. Carabayo 451 about 3 blocks from the Ministerio del Publico. NOTE. this was the biggest headache.. there are TWO certificados de Antecedentes Judiciales. one is only valid for Lima, and will do you no good. Aparently the bank teller was not aware that there were two different certificates, and charged me the s/. 28 for the Lima regional cert, even though i clearly specified that I needed the NATIONAL cert. You need to make a deposit into the checking account of the INPE for the amount of s/. 34.95. a. deposit s/. 34.95 into account number 0000.281794. do this at the BANCO DE LA NACION in the Plaza Pizarro, next to the Palacio. b. take 2 carne sized photos c. give original reciept of payment d. photocopy of DNI Ready to be picked up in 10 working days.

We wanted to know why we have to get the second document legalized with Relaciones Exteriores? Do we need to even bother with legalizing it?? Anyone else who already got these documents know why the Certificado Judicial de Antecedentes Penales is the only one to be legalized with the Relaciones exteriores? Or should we legalize all of them? Or leave them as is from the issuing agencies?

    Thanks guys!

  12. Hey guys

My case number from NVC has not been created.. it appears that they don't have my case yet? I got my NOA2 on 09-29-08. The case was approved on 09-24-08? From looking at everyone elses signature it seems that they should have gotten our case already? Any ideas? Also I have a I-129F still pending at VSC, but I put that in 6 months after my I-130. Wouldn't they just abandon that I-129F and send the I-130 to NVC??? I'm getting worried guys.

  13. I remember seeing in the Visajourney guide that we are to make a two copies of everything of course. One for records and one for the interview. I have everything on my computer and can generate all of the packet of the I-130 at a moments notice. When we go for the interview do we have to show a copy of the entire I-130? Is that really what they require? I didn't make a copy of all the forms after they were signed but I have all the completed forms on my hard drive. Any advice???

Or can i go with out the letter from wife?

Or if it would be ok that she has her social security documents in whch she mentioned that she is sick and cannot work and she recently filled the new form as per Govt new policy for the grant.

    I need replies!

    Thanx.........

On top of this question I'll add another one. I live at home with my mom and dad to save money for when she gets here. Because I just finished college and started full time employment I'll have to use my mom as a joint sponser. So do I use an I-864 for me and an I-864 for my mom and an I-864A for my dad. My mom and I are the sponsers so we use the I-864 and my dad is a member of the household so we use an I-864A for him. Is this correct???
