  1. Hi all!!!

I have a few questions regarding a procedure for removing a condition for my wife. We received a letter from Immigration and it is reminding us to send the I-751. I all ready printed the form and completed everything on it. Our date is September 19. my questions are:

    1. When should we mail the I-751?

    2. Besides $545 worth of fees, is there anything else we would have to pay at later date?

    3. Should we mail all the evidence, pictures, bank statements, child birth certificate, to prove marriage, now or at some later point?

Thank you and good luck to all September filers!!!

  2. Hi all,

My wife is on CR1 status currently and i have few questions regarding traveling while on CR1. She came here on December 24, 2007. She did leave USA from Nov. 4 to December 12, 2008, so she was out for about 5 weeks. Now she is pregnant but she wants to go overseas and give birth there. We were supposed to file for removal of condition sometimes in September i believe. If she goes to Europe and gives birth there in November, she wont be able to come back before February of 2010. So she would miss her interview in December for removal of condition.

Is it possible to remove condition through the US Embassy?

Will she loose her statues if she is out of USA for 8-9 months?

Will that damage her chances to apply for US citizenship?

If child is born in Europe, since I am a US citizen, will I be able to apply for my cjild to become a US citizen?

Thank you all and i hope someone can answer my questions!!!

  3. Hello All,

I hope that someone can help me as it is very important. I have a cousin who was deported in august of this year. He is married to US Citizen, they have 2 kids. He was approved at NY immigration office and he was reporting every month and 3rd time, they just deported him. Now he is overseas awaiting his interview. He was given the case number with first 3 letters from local embassy. I tried searching on USCIS web site and there is nothing on there.

My question is, what is next step? How long will it take to get interview in local embassy? Is there anything that can be done in USA to speed up the process?

I hope there is someone who went through same process and they could provide me with some helpful info.

Thank you for taking time to read this

  4. Hello!!! My wife passed her interview and i must say that, being that she was 6 months pregnant at the time, NVC and US Embassy did a great job to get her package ASAP for the interview. It took about 7 days to get the papers to Embassy, do the medical and finish the interview. So if there is a similar case where someone's wife is pregnant overseas, send the doctors note translated to English to NVC and have someone from local US Embassy contact NVC and and submit a request for the package. I hope my experience will help someone else.

Now i have question and i hope someone can help. Immigration officer at JFK airport took the envelope, she did the fingerprinting, and got back only her passport. How long does it take to receive the Welcome package?

What is this Welcome package anyways? Will we get our original documents that were in the sealed envelope back?

We also applied at the Embassy for the social security card or the asked us if we wanted to submit request for SS number, does that mean we will get it in the mail? Or do we still have to go to local SS Center?

Thank you all and those that are still waiting for the interview, only being strong and patient will help you get through these tough times!!!

  5. Our case was approved on November 6, 2007. So i waited for the after 14th of November and found out that we did not make it for december interview. All this would not be that bad but the fact is, my wife is 6 months pregnant going into her 7 month. I consulted with my wife's doctor and he advised me to urge NVC to do something because it is not safe or recommended for her to travel after that.

I called NVC and explained the situation. I got one of the supervisors on the phone last week and she asked me to mail in ASAP her doctors notes, to be translated in English so they can try to get her an interview by Christmas time. I really dont want my child born overseas, i just seem to trust medical institutions in her native country.

Was there any1 that went throught this before? Did they try to do anything when it comes down for serious situations as mine is? Should i get an immigration attorney in this case? would that help?

Anyone that can give me a concrete info, please post it asap. I am as confused as ever. And whats even worst, my employer will not allow me to go to be with my wife for 3 months and then comeback and expect to have the job waiting for me.

I hope to hear something from someone.

  6. Hi, NVC just requested original birth certificate, original marriage certificate and police records of my wife. She got all the originals translated to English with seals and signed by the court translator. My question is, do they have to also have this thing called "APOSTILLE" from overthere? Has any1 done this or our current translations are good enough for NVC.

    Thank You!!!

  7. Hello!!! I am new here and i see there are plenty of people like, those running out of patience with NVC.

I was married here in USA in Jan, 07. My wife was here on J1 Visa, and after completing her J1 work here, she wanted to return back home, so she would not overstay her visa. We were just playing it safe( and i feel stupid for letting her go back).

We were married a week before she went back, so the process of paperwork started, and so far, am close to having my case completed.

It has been over 2 weeks since i sent all the paperwork. My question is, how long does it take to complete the case after everything had been mailed to NVC?

Now another question, she is also pregnant now, going into her 4 month, what is the rule, if there is such, for pregnant woman and flights to the US when her visa is stamped into the passport?

    Take care VJ faithful!!!
