  1. So my wife got through her immigrant visa interview with no issues. The embassy staff told her she would receive her visa within 10 days. The next day she gets an email stating her visa requires administrative processing and gives zero information. I call the embassy and they can't tell me anything except that it may take days, weeks, or even years to resolve and there is nothing I can do. I've been told this is for a security background check because my wife has my last name which is a very common spanish name. My wife is from a german farm town next to an air force base with proof she has a clean police record in germany. I'm really hating life right now. I hate the state department. We really need less government! All these security checks do nothing to keep us more safe. My wife can come to the US as a tourist without going through this garbage, how does this red tape do anything then?? I'm also in the Air Force and I can't even take leave right now to go see her. The AF is keeping me stuck in the US and the DOS is keeping my wife out of the US.

I wrote my senator.. I hope he can help but I doubt it.

I'm just venting. I wish I could punch something

  2. Does the I-130 expire?

My case is at the NVC...I paid the AOS and IV bills... but I do not meet the income requirments so I cannot file the Affadaivit Of Support yet. Will NVC just hold my case 'pending' until I meet income requirments and file the AOS papers?

Or will it expire after a certain time?

    Thank you in advance...

  3. Hi everybody,

I would be completely lost without this website and the many helpful members!...Thanks everybody!

I have some questions regarding k-3 visas.

I filed for a k-3 visa and both the I-129f and I-130 petitions were approved in Jan 09.

I have decided to go with the IR-1/CR-1 visa, which I assume means I only need the I-130 petition.

Since I dont need the I-129f petition, is it okay to let it expire?

Does the I-130 have an expiration date?

Again I would like to thank everybody for their help and advice..

    -Jens

  5. Hi everyone,

I have a question concerning the medical exam for the Manila US embassy...I believe it is done at St. Luke's

My wife is pregnant and I'm concerned about a couple of things...

    1. The x-ray...is it required...or do they make exceptions for pregnant women?

    2. the vaccinations...I read somewhere that they just added like 8 more vaccinations...is this true?

And what are the required vaccinations exactly and again are there any exceptions for pregnant women?

Any of you pinays that have taken their medical exams...I would appreciate any information you could provide

    Thanks in advance,

    Jens

  6. On the I-129 where it asks for my Fiance's state I accidentally put "Bukidmon" instead of "Bukidnon" Will I get a RFE for this? Should I send them a new copy of the I-129F form? If so how do I do this. I do not want our case delayed over this.

    Thank you

Conan, I would not worry about it...its a simple spelling mistake...im sure you wont get a RFE

However, if you want to be sure, when USCIS sends you the receipt notice just update the address...

  7. So excited, you clicked on Russia instead of P.I.!

If you ever see this again (which you probably won't because the excitement will have worn off) you get one case number because you only have one case!

Good luck! And don't be a stranger, we're a nice bunch around here and we love lumpias too!

hmmm...i read somewhere else on VJ that you have 2 case numbers from NVC...one for the I-129f...and one for the I-130.... although I could be mistaken...Thanks for the reply though...I dont get much reply...by the way...hows the MOTHERLAND? hehehehehe

  8. I was reading the instructions for filling out form I-864A and I came across this...

    "9. Household Member's Employment

Check all boxes that apply to you. A sponsor may not rely on a household member's income from illegal activities, such as proceeds from illegal gambling, or drug sales, to meet the income requirements, even if the household member paid taxes on that income."

I thought that was funnier than ######!

    Thanks,

    Jens

  9. Hi everyone!

Some questions regarding filling out the I-864 form...

Im staying with my wife in the philippines while we process her immigration papers.

On the I-864 form, do I enter my adress as in the states or in the philippines?

On the DS-3032 form I told my wife to enter my address in the states...even though Im not actually there.

The address I have in the states is actually my parents place....when they recieve anything from uscis, nvc, etc...they forward it to me here in the philippines.

    Another question...

on the I-864 form...when counting the number of people in your household...it says enter the number of immigrants your sponsoring...which is 1....then it says if you are married count your spouse as 1...but it says dont count anyone twice! help!

any thoughts on these simple yet confusing questions...?

    thanks in advance

  10. Hi everyone!

    One question here...

    I filed a K-3 visa... both the I-129f and the I-130 petitions...

When it gets to the NVC, do they assign a case number to EACH petition ( I-129-f and I-130 ) OR does one case number represent BOTH petitions?

Its a simple question But any help I would appreciate!

    Thanks

    Jens

  11. Hello everyone...

My parents will be my co-sponsor for my wife's petition...

Since they are married and file joint taxes... Does each of them have to file a I-864?

Or can one of them represent the both of them?

    Another question...

Is it better to submit ALL tax documents....OR are the tax transcripts sufficient?

Thanks in advance to whoever can help

  12. WOW!

First I would like to thank all of you who replied to my question with such haste!

If only USCIS was just as fast!

Now let me explain my story so that everyone will understand my next questions...

I have been living with my wife in the philippines since may 2008...9 months now...

We are expecting our first child this coming May '09...

USCIS approved both the i-129f and i-130 petitions just last week (jan 15 '09)...

    questions:

    1. Is it possible for me to file all the paperwork while im still in the philippines?

    2. What do i do if my wifes visa is not approved before her due date?

all information will be greatly appreciated

    thanks

    jens

  13. hi everybody
