Thank you so much windy! So during the interview, should I be honest with them and tell them I work abroad if I am asked? I heard that some may be asked to prove they will come back. I thought I could say I have a house here and my husband is a citizen, so of course I will come back. Will it work? Thank you!

Hello,
I have been married to the same US citizen for 6 years, and have been a permanent resident for over 5 years. I received a job offer from a large US company to work in Singapore. It's not a temporary assignment, but it was a very good offer so I accepted it.
I didn't want to worry about my green card taken away, so I filed N400 for naturalization a week ago. I just received receipt confirmation email. I plan to leave the US in 17 days, while my husband will stay in our house for a few more months (time undecided yet) before joining me in Singapore. We will still keep our house and bank accounts here in the US.
My questions are:
1. Is it OK to work abroad after filing N400? I plan to fly back for interview and oath. Will it be ok?
2. I would love to have the bio-metrics done before leaving, so it saves me 1 trip back. Is there anyway I can contact USCIS office and ask if I can? I don't know if it's a good idea to let them know I will be working abroad soon, but maybe they will know anyway? I would like to be honest to USCIS about my situation. But I don't know if working abroad permanently makes my case easy to be rejected.
Anyone has been in the similar situation? How should I handle it? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
I am K1, I got out of US last month and when I came back at Chicago airport, the officer took 1 page of my AP away and stamped on the other one and returned to me. I will probably need to travel out of the US again in April I am wondering if I can still use this stamped AP or if I need to apply for a new one? Thanks.

My EAD only took 6 weeks, so you'll never know, but I guess it's just because where I live there are not many immigrantions, so it really depends.
My EAD took 4.5 months. I filed end of June and just got mine 3 weeks ago. You filed a month after when EVERYONE else was filing too. I wouldn't be too shocked if you didn't get EAD until end of Dec/start of JanuaryBrad, wasn't your EAD held up because of RFE?

thank you, learned something new today again:-) have a fabulous day!
This is a common thing for a few years now, NBC determins that case is a simple one and sends it to CSC for adjudication, results is most are approved without interview, but some are decided that an interview is needed, and CSC will send to your local office.VJ Timelines now have a selector for AOS transfer.

NO INTERVIEW?? woo, never knew this, thought interview is necessary, bless me~~ Thanks!
It is fairly common. It means your AOS case was transferred from your local office to California...and...more than likely will result in NO INTERVIEW.. woo hoo..(Disclaimer - on rare occasions, cases are sent back to the local office so an interview can take place, but that is somewhat rare...)

Hi everybody,
I submitted my AOS request along with EAD and AP on begining of Oct, I've received approvement of EAD and AP already but when I check my status online, the following message shows:
On November 29, 2007, we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.
I haven't received any notice yet, but can anybody tell me why is this case transferred to CSC? Is it normal or does it mean any problem?
Thanks a lot!

I saw in Internet that I-864 MUST be notarized, but I don't find any notarization area in I-864 form, is it necessary to get notarized? thank you

If you prepare each application completely as if they were being filed seperately then you will have your answer
Good answer, thank you very much!

Hi,
I see each application form requires 1 passport photocopy and 2 photos, so if I submit I-131 and I-765 together with I-485, am I correct that I need to put 6 pictures and 3 passport photocopies in the packet?
And, I remember I ever saw here that if submit all 3 forms together I need to copy a I-485 application form to support I-131, but I can't find that link now, can anyone tell me is it true? besides, can anyone give me a checklist of the number of the copies when applying these 3 forms together?
Thank you very much!

withdraw N400 application. check was just processed. can I get refund?

Hi,
I just filed N400, and the check was just processed 4 days ago. Due to family reasons, I decided to withdraw my application. So I called USCIS, no problem, I can withdraw, but no refund. It's not that $680 is a lot of money, but since the application fee is meant to cover the whole naturalization process, I feel that I am entitled to at least a percentage of the fee refunded. Any idea how I could approach it? Thank you.
