Update:

received noa I-797C to set-up online account.

Online account has biometrics appt set for 11/13/2017 at 1:00 pm in York, PA.

I’m starting to get nervous. Filed husband’s citizenship at Chicago Lockbox and it was signed for/delivered on 10/17.  As of today the check hasn’t been cashed and haven’t received any information.

Normal wait time or cause for concern??

Any advice would he helpful. Thank you.

Yes, just take your extension letter to the DMV and your DL will be renewed for 1 year. That is wat i did with mine.

Question regarding renewing driver's license. The driver's license is due to expire when the greencard would have expired - can we just take the letter extending the greencard for one year (pending approval) and renew the driver's license? Thank you!

Just received biometrics appt. for 8/13/2010....yeah!

The NOA1 Receipt date is 6/8/2010...However still haven't received a bio appt....Getting kind of nervous, is there anyone we can contact?

NOA Received June 12th - Dated June 8th.

Sent I-751 to VSC on June 3rd - received June 8th.

Expires on 9/2/2010

The EAC is the same as the EAD...

He was able to get his SSN without the EAD...So, should be able to extend the permit once we receive the EAD..

Thanks again! Everything is sooo confusing - especially because the system is bifurcated...Every state is different! ahh!

I'm in NC too. You can't get an NCDL without a SSN. When I got my EAC, I went to the SS office and applied for a SS number. When I got my SS card, I took both the EAC and the SS card to the DMV, and got my NCDL with those. However, the license has a restriction on the back, saying that it is only valid as long as my EAC is valid. I was told that once I get my greencard, to come back in and they will give me a new DL with the EAC restriction removed.

Now I await the arrival of said greencard

I-94 (the deadline for getting married)....How can he renew his learner's permit without the green card?? The green card won't be available for about 9 months...Is there anyway around having the permit expire in 2 months??

In New York, it shows your temporary status as the day your ID (EAD) expires. However, it is just a restriction, the permit is still good for 5 years. They remove the restriction once you get the greencard.

He's gotten a SSN and took the card when he got the driver's permit...What is an EAC? Sounds like he can get the permit extended to get the license with that document? thanks!!

You need to ask the State as each State is different... Some states accept the EAD card, some will accept AP as proof, some will even accept the I-797 NOA as proof....

BTW, who said 9 months for a greencard?

That is the estimated time for North Carolina given by a local immigration attorney.

Received NOA for AOS and EAD today; petition receipt June 11, 2008.

Also stated they would schedule biometrics appointment..

Appointment will be in Charlotte, NC office.

Compiling the i-485 change of status for K1 Visa

A medical exam was performed and vaccinations given in UK in March 2008...

Do I have to go to a civil surgeon and have them verify my vaccinations and have them sign the i-693??

Should i take my x-rays that were returned at my visa interview?

Very confused, not sure why have to have another medical review?!

What have been recent experiences with return of passport with Visa after the interview from US Embassy in London?

Interview is on Tuesday, May 13th and our return tickets are for May 18th - hoping that leaves enough time.

Fiance's visa interivew is scheduled for May 13th

He'll be travelling to the States on April 30th, and staying here until we return to London for the interview, will that create any problems?

Second question: After the interview, we are planning to go to the Isle of Wight for a few days before returning back to the States. If the interview is on Wednesday at 8 am, will the passport (most likely) be returned before that Sunday?

Third Question: Can someone else sign for his passport when they deliver the package if we're in the IOW?

Fourth Question: Would it be better to have the passport courier to the address in the Isle of Wight?

How soon have interviewees (when there isn't a problem) been receiving their passports back after the interview?

If you dont have a medical date then you dont have one to put on the checklist, and thats fine. Im sending my checklist off this week and I am not going to book my medical until I have the interview date. This is because I am wanting the medical on the same day as my interview to save going down to London twice, so having a 'blank' on the medical date is fine (or as in my case 'to be confirmed').

Thanks, i was really worried! His medical is on March 25th, still waiting for the interview date..He sent the packet last Monday. Have you received a date yet? They are only doing the medical exams at the Bond Street location right now..They aren't doing the exams at knightsbridge, so there is somewhat of a wait for appointments..So, you might want to call - didn't know if you were aware...
