This morning we got an email to send my fiancée’s passport to the embassy! Our status still reads refused on CEAC, but this usually means they are going to issue the visa. So we are cautiously excited.

It’s been almost 7 weeks of AP. So hopefully you guys will be the same or less. Keep emailing and stay positive!

Congratulations!!! What an exciting news :') They emailed you guys on the weekend?

I’d say keep emailing. It doesn’t hurt. Make sure to put the beneficiary’s name and the case number in the subject line.

Good luck with the wait. I know it’s so hard and at times very depressing.

Will do, keep us updated with your timeline! I wonder if all of us have something common in our cases, that we all ended up with a similar situation. Hopefully all of us get an answer soon, and get to be with our loved ones.

My fiancée and I are going through the same thing. It’s been 6 weeks in AP. My only advice is to follow up with the embassy weekly just to make sure your case stays on the officer’s mind. We have done that and they stopped replying after the first email, but we noticed that the last updated date changes after each email.

I sent an email last week, but they never got back to me :( and there has been no update on the website after my email..

Lol it's funny how similar you guys'stories are to ours. We also were excited and told our families, but soon after, we received that email. But I was telling my fiancee that I thought it might not have been a total denial.

But I will say one thing: the fact that so many people apparently have/had this same problem is a little comforting. It let's me know that we didn't do anything wrong.

From what I have heard, the questions are from form DS 5535, and it means that they will do an extensive background check through difference agencies.. and unfortunately there is no set timeline for the security checks.. the consulate website does say that most AP procedures are resolved within 60 days, but every case is different.

We feel the same way, its very depressing after not only being given a verbal approval but an approval letter as well

exactly, we also got an approval letter and passport pickup date and receipt. We told our family the big news and then suddenly we received the email..

Yeah that sounds really similar to our case. We're still waiting. Although I did notice something interesting about the status. It seems to update every few days. So even if it's still saying"refused", it shows that the embassy is at least actively updating it (I think. Not entire sure though.)

for us, it updated a few times in the first two weeks, but no updates since July 6th... : | It sucks when the Consulate officer gives you a verbal approval, and you think that you are finally done with all the wait, and this new thing comes up. first few days were very depressing for us.

  7. Hey! Did you guys get a reply from the embassy? We are in the same boat. My fiancé had his K1 interview on June 24th and received a verbal approval from the Consulate Officer. Two days later, he received an email with Supplemental questions, and our case has been in administrative provessing since then. Please keep me updated on your timelines.. the wait is so frustrating!
