  1. I am looking at petitioning my father to the US, unfortunately my income does not meet the poverty line, I am married and my husband and i have always filed a joint tax return. I have been the “official Breadwinner” in our household ever since my husband returned to school full time, he works at the hospital every Saturday but that still won’t let us qualify to meet the poverty line, however we do receive Monthly Housing allowance from the GI bill and also almost 600 in VA disability. Can we use these as additional income even though these aren’t taxable? And do you have any other suggestions I can do to qualify? Please help. Thanks everyone!
