Hubby just got his passport so awesome! we paid for expedited service. We're waiting on mine and we're are going back to England for a quick visit.

lawrencetoland did your hubby already get his citizenship certificate back in the mail?

I got my passport card about the same time you posted and I got the actual passport a few days later but it is now several week later and I have not gotten my certificate back in the mail yet and I am getting worried! I do not know if I should call or where to call or if this delay is normal ...

I have updated my status with SSA and submitted my application for mypassport. I am trying not to bite all my nails off before I get mynaturalization certificate back but I am waiting anxiously!

I passed as well. IO was rude so it wasn't a pleasant experience. I'm too upset right now and don't even want to talk about what happened. Just know that I was approved, the next oath date is Sept. 22nd, and if nothing goes worse, oath letter will come in the mail. Hopefully that would be the end of dealing with USCIS and I guarantee that they will never get another dime out of me.

I am so sorry to hear Jasminelily; I thought about you during the process and hoped things were going well for you.

When you are up to it, please share your experience but only if you would like to.

Try to put the negative part of it behind you and keep in mind the most important thing now which is that you passed and it is on to your oath ceremony.

Hey fellow May 2010Applicants,

Ihad my interview scheduled for 9:40. Got there at 9:10, was called in at about9:20 and was finished by 9:40. My interviewer was a very pleasant lady. I triedvery hard to remember how everything went since I know sharing experiences herehas helped me a lot. They asked a few preliminary questions: Name, Address,Number, then went into the tests:

Read:Who elects Congress?

Write:The people elect congress

Civics:(in no order and sorry, I can only remember 5 of the 6 asked)

1. Who wrote the declaration of independence?

2.Who is the commander in chief?

3.What it he party of the president?

4.What are the 2 political parties in the US?

5.Name 3 of the original colonies

Sheinformed me that I passed my test then reviewed my application. She mumbledthat I had sent everything then asked me my name and husband’s name then a fewof the questions about being arrested, nothing major. She then told me that shewould recommend me for approval and asked if I could come back at 2:45 for theoath ceremony.

Myparents come to visit in September and I wanted them to witness my oathceremony but when I asked she said she can guarantee today at 2:45 but could notguarantee any other date so today it was! We (me, my husband, he parents,grandmother and sister) took as many pictures/recordings as we could. Hopefullymy parents will get the full idea of what happened.

Soit is now official, I am a US Citizen

Now I move on to update social security andobtain a passport.

Jasminelily I hope everything went well for you today. I didmy interview in the morning, passed and had the oath ceremony in the afternoon. All my worry and everything went by like a breeze!

Regarding my husband's birth certificate, do I need to get the large copy or is the wallet size version okay for this purpose?

I'm a little nervous as well, not that I'm not well prepared but I'm just afraid that something is going to go wrong and out of my imagination.

I'm bringing all the originals as well, just anything I can think of and as much as I can carry.

My hubby has to work so he won't be there. We just can't afford for the both of us to take a day off under this economy. Hopefully with all the evidence I bring, they won't still be thinking that our marriage is fraud.

I can answer all the questions in my sleep, I have all my documents and I havent had a problem any step of the way but I am still nervous. My overly active imagination is having me thinking all manner o fevil that can go wrong

Luckily, my husband will be able to come with me so that will help.

I have a copy of anything I submitted and I did not get a yellow letter so I assume they have all the need. I plan to take everything with me just to be sure (originals where possible).

I am jsut getting anxious and want to get it over with ...

I got the yellow letter saying that as well. It's pretty normal. Just bring those documents.

I have wondered about these yellow letters, I have seen other people reference them. Does everyone get a yellow letter? If you do not get a yellow letter, what are you required to take to the interview? (My plan is to take a copy of everything I sent in with the application package) ....

I got my interview letter today, my interview date is August 23rd; progress

I was actually listening to the cd in the car on the drive home then came up and saw the letter; I have a month so I should be ready by then

Hubby did his Biometrics on the 1st and nothing changed until today. No touches or anything and now it says it has been transferred to the office for an interview. So we will wait until we get our letter.

I got an email this morning at 5:32am saying:

Application Type: N400 , APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

Current Status: This case has been sent for a standard interview.

I am just happy to know there is some progress!

Shouldnt I have least been touched yesterday since I did my biometrics on Friday afternoon?

I just want to be sure everything is in order. I know you have been wiating 2 weeks; plus from what I have seen of the Baltimore timeframes, I dont expect to have my interview this month, maybe earlier August will be my date. I was just thinking that my information would be updated online since the biomestrics was completed ...

Also, what is my case status going to change to now; will they change it now that I have done the biometrics or will it say RFE until a date is set for my interview?

"On June 16, 2010, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION"

So I am sure that the Biometric notice is coming!

I just checked and my status says RFE:

"On June 11, 2010, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION"

So I should get the letter in the mail soon and know what date to plan for

I am getting anxious about the biometrics letter. I really do not like his "sit and wait" process. I am happy that I can come online and see status updates from your all … thanks for sharing your experiences.
