  1. I did just notice I didn't put "US" in front of Department of Homeland Security on the Check Grrr.. But they didn't mention a problem with the check. I think I'll reprint the N400 and put a new check and try again. I don't want to say they made a mistake even if they did cause well thats not a good start heh. Hopefully a different agent will get this application. I'll let you know how that goes.

  2. I sent out this Naturalization application a few weeks ago and got it back with the rejection notice saying:

The applicaton/petition you sent us is missing some pages. you can download a complete form from our website, or...

you have failed to make any selection in Part 2, Information about your eligibility on your application.

Please review and mark the appropriate block in part 2...

    ----

*Well upon reviewing my application I see clearly part 2 is marked with an X in the correct spot. I've looked through everything 10 times and there is no missing pages and I have all clear evidence and supporting documents. Any ideas? Is it possible it's something else and they just don't say it? Or possible they mixed me up with another application? I'm concidering just mailing back the application as is and see if they will take it.

Thanks for your time and opinions,

    Nick

  3. So My mother-in-law in Peru has an interview thursday. She just tried to go pay the fee and was unaware that the rules had change so you need to pay first now. So she is stuck in the cracks of the system change. She called everyone, we all scanned the website vigourously. No time to cancel the appointment and make a new one. She is heading to Lima tonight is there anything she can do? Everyone else says the same thing to just print the DS... receipt and bring it to the bank, but the bank is under strict rules to only accept a 10 digit number on a deposit slip. Hope someone has a hopeful answer...

  4. I'm in the same boat as you was just going to ask the same question of what the average time is from sending in the application to getting a biometric date. Hopefully not needing an interview.

Hi all, back on VJ after 2 years. I am in a weird situation when my wife's I-751 filing date is due eligible from 15th January but we will be flying out on Feb 3rd for a month out of country. By seeing the BImetrics average timeline looks to be 30days. This means if i file by 15th than we would get a mail for appointment around mid to late february which we will probably miss. I read somewhere people trying to do walk in after there biometrics appointment has passed but within 90 days timeline, some were lucky to get fingerprinting done. But some were having hardtime getting 2nd appointment. Does it worth the risk or should i have this mailed around the time we leave on Feb 3rd and hope to get the biometrics app around the time we get back which is March 6th. Or is there any other better alternative that some1 knows about or gone through. Thanks for answers and good luck to everyone.

  5. I reccomend you go to this site and find a local civil surgeon that can answer that questions. https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV

I brought in my stuff and they said my wife needs this shot and then to come back and they will do everything else for $50. I think they will do the shots too. But my insurance wasn't accepted there. If they say more than $50 call another one until you find one thats helpful. But no if you already did it you don't have to do the exam again. But maybe some vaccinations didn't get taken considering some need 2 or 3 vaccinations over a period of 6 months. So bring your DS-3025 (vaccination list) so they can reference it and figure it all out.

Is I-693 Medical form is required for K3 Visa? (K3 = who filed I-130 + I-129F), isn't the brown envelope that the immegration folks take from you on the airport will include the medical exam taken overseas plus the vaccination?

    Any info please help

  6. 1. hmm you are right about the sealed I-693, so guess we will just make the appointment with the doc. I'm assuming they didn't get it unless they got it in the sealed envelope when they took the other sealed envelope with all the documents in the airport.

    2. "question #2, With the petitioner, get a copy of your state id or driver's license and also your SSN and birth certificate the same with your partner. If she/he already have an EAD, driver's/state id and SSN make a copy of it and also bring the original with you."

Thanks for this info, but more curious if I need to include the full I-130, I-129f, I-485, and I-765. Just bought ink so ready to print.

    3. any idea oh how cheap we could maybe find an interpreter for? :S

    Thanks for the responses

  7. Found an answer to #1, just need to contact a civil surgeon to re-transcribe from DS-3025 to I-693 and to avoid getting over charged.

hello I have 3 questions about what is needed for the I-485 interview, sorry if was posted previously I looked but didn't see exactly:

1.Medical Exam form I-693 - I was reading you need this starting May 1st of last year, but my wife got her medical exam in May but got a different form in Peru but is in english and looks similar is Form DS-3025. Do you think we need to get another Medical exam here?

    2. All documents that make you eligible for a lawful permanent resident status, all immigrant documents - Which documents are these exactly? Do we need to bring all previous papers for I-130, I-129f, I-485, and I765 papers? or just these documents "passports, visa, EAD, both birth certificates, marriage certificate, I-864, plane tickets, bills with joint names, photos, medical exam, Tax return, W2, letter from employer, pay stubs, all NOA's, with copies of all"?

    3. Do we really need to bring an interpreter? I thought usually they had a spanish speakers there especialy in minnesota with so many latinos.

  9. Is this bad? What does this mean exactly? Just got this update through the USCIS website.

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD

On September 3, 2008, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your mailing address.

  10. 2 questions:

    1. My wife had only one copy of her birth certificate ready to bring here. They took it in the airport in the sealed envelope at immigration. But for the I-485 she needs a copy of the birth certificate it says. So my question is can we get away with not sending the birth certificate with the I-485? Or write a note saying immigrations in the airport has the birth certificate? Because we are not sure how to get a copy of the birth certificate now.

    2. We will change my wifes last name with a judge because is "fathers last name" & "Mothers Last Name" but want to change it to just my last name. Should we do that before we do the I-485 so that it is all good on all the paperwork?

Thank you for your time and help.

  11. I asked the question before of what to do if I changed my address a few weeks before the visa interview and the advice was to tell the people at the interview. Well my wife had a rather quick interview which was great but she forgot to tell them about the new address. Though all the interview papers had the new address. Only the I-130 and I-129f have the old address. So my question is should we be concerned? My sister lives at the old address they have so anything they send she will get. About to apply for AOS with USCIS so they will have the new address...

  12. I'm sure the answer is no, but I need to ask anyways. So my wife is getting her police records and she asks me if it needs to be translated into english. Well it would save time if a lawyer could pick up the papers in Lima.

My wife spent the day running through hoops in Lima half the people lying just so they can get some extra money. Is it like that in most countries when you are doing the last couple weeks of running around to do the papers before the interview?

  13. Thank you!!! Also wondering how much do I need to send my wife for the whole visa cost. I'm assuming it's more than just the $131 and the medical costs that she pays there. Or is that it until she gets her green card here? Sorry in the last minute scramble and asking so blindly.

I was sort of expecting the packet 3 & 4 to tell us everything we need for the interview. But there was very little information saying only you need to do these things:

    *Medical Exam

    *DS-230 for my spouse

    *AOS I-134

But I know she needs to go to the policia and get some forms and go to a bank to get a receipt or bank check for $131

Really this seems to easy so what more is there that is needed to gather before the interview? have a large sum of proof neatly organized with copies of everything, photos receipts. But is there any other paperwork I shoudl fill out just in case for a K3? I will not be able to attend the interview with my wife which I know will make it a little more difficult. So I'm trying to get everything just a little extra organized and neat and tidy and shiny for her.

as far as i know if your wife is a K3 applicant she needed of the following :

    1. DS-157 ( where u said u going to pay 131 dollars ) 2 set - original

    2. DS-156 u can print 2 copies for this form after u fill up online ( 2 set - original )

    3. Affidavit of Support ( AOS ) I-134 - - notorized

    4. ITR and W2 latest ( 2005,2006,2007 )

    5. Birth Certificate , Marriage Contract , Divorce Decree w/ resolutions

    6. Cert from employer

    7. Statement from Bank

    8. and other supporting papers

hope that will help..... goodluck to your wifey

  15. Thank you so much, I appreciate your responses. I was complately twisted from the arrival of this letter. Got the I-865 ready to mail, I'll send an email to NVC about the address change and hope all is good then. have another question but I'll start a new thread...

  16. 1. My address just changed and the the interview date has just been given for July 3rd. Who do i need to notify of the new address? i tried changing on USCIS website but it said: U.S. Citizens who do not have an application or petition pending with USCIS are only legally required to notify USCIS of a change of address if they have previously submitted a Form I-864 on behalf of someone who has become a permanent resident. If you have previously submitted a Form I-864 for someone who immigrated to the U.S., you must complete a Form I-865 within ten days of the completion of your move.

Do I need to contact the Embassy, I will write NVC but my other question is about NVC too

    2. NVC wrote me a letter that the CR1 was approved and to send the $70. But the K3 visa is already at the embassy in peru with the interview date. What do I do with that? We will only persue the K3 visa because we already bought the plane tickets for July 11th.

  17. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what documents will be needed for the interview for a K-3 in Peru? I have the I-186 and the DS-230 all filled out and hoping that is all. I know the K-1 has a lot more and trying to look at the Embassy info page on the site here and so wondering if need to do the DS-156 or what more documents to fill out will be included in the 3&4 package. On the Embassy's page they have a special online link on where to make filing out the DS-156 easier: https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp?lang=1

Our application is at NVC and I'm about to go back to Peru this week so wanted to get everything done now if possible so it is ready for my wife.

  18. NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!! Now the next waiting game NVC...

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On May 6, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

  19. It still says they are on September 9th on the USCIS website. :S But that was last updated march 15th. I have an early december send date. Is there something you did to get your paperwork through faster? I hope by May we all hear something!!

    hi guys!

just want to let you know, we got approvals for both petitions already!

the i-130 was approved april 4, 2008.. while the I-129 was okayed I-129.

the question now is, what's the next step? is pursuing the k3 visa still an option?

    Help please!

That's AWESOME - congrats! I filed after you, but my receipt date was near yours (they sped up a bit) ... Let's hope all of us with Jan/Feb receipt dates start hearing SOON :)

    And I'm going the K3 route also - I don't see a reason to abandon it ...

  20. So basically, I just need to look at it every day to see if the date changes--although it hasn´t in almost a month! Is that unusual? We´ve also been waiting for our I-129 1st NOA. We sent the papers Feb. 7, they arrived Feb. 11, and now it´s almost the end of the month. I thought it was an average of 10 days for that paper.

You should fill out your timeline. But if you sent on the 7th I wouldn't worry. I filed both documents together to the chicago lockbox and when they got to CSC they did the I-130 first and waited a little while before they sent me the NOA1 for the I-129f. So I don't think you should worry too much.

Thats all I can tell you but feel free to chat with me I'm in the same Peruvian boat. :)

  21. Thank you guys for all of the great wishes :) ...

I've called USCIS but they keep saying "give it more time and call us back in a couple days" ... This has been the response twice ... But they don't have any further answer because they don't see it in the system :(

I figured that if they didn't want my 129F there, they could've sent it back to me and entered the 130 ... I mean give me break ...

I sent both my I-129f and I-130 together to the chicago lockbox and bot both my NOA1's. It's a painful wait I hope CSC gets faster soon.

  22. just curious if anyone else has fallen out of the stated time lines? Still haven't recieved anything, but my package was dated as being recieved on the 7th of december. I will call them soon. Just wondering if I'm alone or not.

we are in the "November boat" also. received November 11. still no money order cashed and still no receipt. and not even "in the system"

    Dr. Bill

Sweet they just cashed my check!! And I sent my I-130 and I-129f together!! Don't believe the dates they posted heh.

  23. :S

I sent my I-130 & I-129f fo the chicago lockbox and it was recieved there on the 7th of december. But I fear they will only send it back to me. Still my check hasn't been cashed. Has anyone else had there documents sent back because they tried to double up?

Hello December filers! Long time lurker here! My check for our I-130 has cleared yesterday, 2/1/08. I'm still waiting for the check image to show online though but at least were past the first hurdle! The Chicago Lockbox received our application on 12/16/08 and was only stamped with USCIS CHICAGO LOCKBOX on the signature portion, no specific person signed for it. I'm sure your checks will also be cashed soon! :D
