IO will change it at interview.
When you come for oath, your certificate will have your new name, already signed by Judge to save time.
My IO asked me at interview if I wanted to change name as it will be the one on my certificate
Thanks !
I believe not every filed office Supports the name change. so I was wondering if San Jose, California filed office accept name changes request .
How to check if any filed office supports name change?

What do you mean by judicial ceremonies? Or do you mean oath?
Every office offers oath, I believe
When you request a name change your oath will be judicial (oath with a judge)not administrative(regular oath)

Name change doesn't delay anything. IO will ask you about it at the interview. He/ she will them make the change. As such, by the time you get to your oath, your certificate will have your new name ready.
Thank you for the answer. Do you know if San Jose filed office offer judicial ceremonies?

Hello All,
I have my interview in a week from now, and I'm thinking about requesting to change my name legally.
Does anyone have experience with how long a juridical oath ceremony could be delayed?
filed office: San Jose, California.
Thank you! -

Thanks for the confirmation! I knew that not every USCIS office field supports a request to change a name, but I wasn't sure. I hope to find someone who had the experience at the San Jose field office to tell me if they support a name change request.
