    1. They might. Some do, some don’t.

    2. Once your AOS is properly filed you are authorized to stay. However, you cannot work until you get an EAD and you cannot travel out the US until you get AP (expect both these to take 6 months or longer from when you file). Ensure you and your spouse both understand and are comfortable with being a single income household for 6 months or possibly significantly longer.

Does anyone know what the consequences would be if my J1 visa was revoked during the adjustment phase?

    - Would my application be cancelled?

    - I have to leave the country?

  2. I’m currently on a J-1 visa which expires September 30th. My partner & I are planning on getting married, however I have two main concerns...

    1. If my J-1 sponsorship program finds out about my adjustment of status that they will disassociate themselves by revoking my J1 status? If so what will be the implications?

    2. Am I able to staying the country when my visa expires and my status is still being adjusted?

I just want to make sure I’m proceeding in the correct way! Any other advice is warmly welcomed :)

  3. I’m in a similar position entered on a J-1 March 2020, which technically expired March 2021, however I got an extension till September. I’d like to travel outside of the US but my passport visa stamp says it expired March this year so I’m concerned I’ll have issues renter the country. Is anyone familiar with the process?
