  1. We are getting ready to adjust the status for my husband, so I am filling out form I-864. My husband is already working, he's been employed since last year when he moved to the USA (back then we filed for Work Authorization)

I read somewhere that I can include him in form I-864 and include his income. (I don't have anyone else who can sponsor him) Do I need to file a separate form or can he just be included in the same one? Did anyone do this and can someone please explain to me how it can be done ? Thanks

  2. We are adjusting the status for my husband and form I485 indicates that I-693 form be filled out and Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status be done

My spouse had the Medical exam done before entering the States, he does not have a form, it was handed to the Customs along with other forms he received at his interview. Does he need to have another medical exam before we apply for his status adjustment or ? I am very confused

    Thanks in advance

  3. Hello,

    quick question :)

We sent my husband's employment authorization form out on June 12, signature confirmation states they have received it and it was signed by Novak on the 16th...check still hasn't been cashed ..does anyone know how long it usually takes them to cash it ???

    Anyone with similar experience ???

    Thank You all

  4. We are getting ready to mail EAD form out and we're not sure what address to mail it out to ? Guides say it should go to CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER, yet if I look at USCIS website it states anything form state of Utah should be mailed out to VERMONT SERVICE CENTER ?

I m really confused, anyone with the right answer :) ??? I would really appreciate it

    Thank You

Page 8 of the I-765 instructions tells you where to send it. It depends on what your answer to question 16 is.

    Thanks for Your help :)

  5. Ok this is making more sense to me know

So it s okay to wait to file for AOS and just go ahead and file for EAD now so my spouse can start working ASAP

One more question...How long does it usually take for AOS to be approved ?

Our 1 year wedding anniversary is on August 8. Would You suggest we wait until maybe end of the year ???

Any answers would be appreciated :)

    Thank You all

  8. Thanks for all the replys

I am still bit confused. I thought EAD AND AOS were the same thing ??? Does this mean if I go ahead and file for EAD and pay $1,100 fee will my spouse eventually get the green card or will more paperwork need to be filled . Oh man this is way confusing than I though :(

When can he apply for a social security card, get his US drivers license...

Oh yeah...and we've only been married for 9 months now, does it matter what we apply for ?

  9. Hello VJ users

My husband entered the States several days ago under K3 visa, it was the happiest day ever :)

We're getting ready to adjust his status but I m really confused as to what the next step would be. If someone with experience could guide me I would appreciate it

Good luck to all of you!

  10. Are You kidding me ??? March ??? Europe being approved faster ???

    You must be kidding !

I ve been in this hell together with everyone from all over the world for about 8 months now and still WAITING ...

It doesn't really make a big difference where anyone is from

    Good luck

Hi guys- I have noticed that the process is relatively faster for Europeans. Their cases have been approved within 50 days .Don't take me in a wrong way. My best wishes are with these happy couples. I am just wondering that how USCIS work on cases. By saying that, I am just trying to make this point that there is no such thing that cases are handled by the order they were received.

BTW, Any Pakistani petitioners approved this month????? Thanks for everybody's posts and support.

  11. [Thank You so much for taking Your time to help me with this question :)

    I really appreciate it

    Good luck to You :)

You do not need to list this info if your income is above 125% povertyline.

One thing about I-134, the directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

    • I-134 signed and notarized.

    • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

    • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

    • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

    • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% or (100% for military) of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.
