  1. wow thats quick. Can I the beneficiary contract the Dept of state or does it have to be the USC? What exactly did you ask them? Good luck in Vancouver btw :)

    thanks

    A

We have been waiting for packet 4 from Vancouver since last week. So when I read this thread about calling the NVC, I immediately dialed them. It worked!! Our interview is scheduled for December 19th :dance::dance:

I (the petitioner) called the NVC at 202-663-1225, option 4 (I think - it's the one about the fiance visa) and then you press 0, it doesn't tell you, but that's the option to speak to an operator. The wait was only a minute and after giving her our NVC Case number, my fiance's name and DOB, I just explained to her that we had faxed the checklist back last week and could she tell me the status of our case? She gave me the interview date immediately, no run-around at all. It has been a good day :thumbs:

  2. My case was approved on October 23. NVC still claims they know nothing about it. Today a guy on the phone told me to mail in a copy of NOA2. He also told me not to include any cover sheets or things like that. Have anyone heard of doing this before?

Our case was approved September 21 and it wasn't received at the NVC until November 6th. Every time I called to check the status, someone at the NVC told me I had to wait at least 90 days and then they would research it. It seems that you've waited about the same amount of time we have. I bet you'll get something from them any day now!

  3. My fiance rec'd Packet 3 last week (over vacation!) and has booked his medical in Edmonton for the beginning of next week. It is on the list of things to obtain, but does this have to be completed before he can send his check-list back to Vancouver so they can schedule his interview?

Nope, basically the checklist is just there to make sure you have all the documentation, and to make sure you schedule your medical ASAP.

You can send your checklist back before the medical is done.

Good luck at the medical next week, and make sure you have your vaccination history before you go

Awesome, thanks for the info!!:dance:

  4. Do I wait to book the medical when I get my interview date? Checklist says to schedule the appointment, but I'm not sure I want to make two trips.

NB: I know I've seen this on a previous thread, however I can't find it......

Thanks for your valuable information, as always!

  5. DCF is for immigrant (IR-1 CR-1) visa petitions filed directly to the consulate, that type of visa uses I-864.

Your question involves I-134 which is used for K-Visas so question should be posted to K-1 K-3 or foreign embassy/consulate forum.

    Anyway:

I-134 package is valid for several months after putting it together.

The directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

    • I-134 signed and notarized.

    • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

    • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

    • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

    • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

    Sorry, could've sworn that's where I posted it...oh well.

    Thanks for the help!!

  6. We got our NOA2 at the end of September. Once we rec'd that, I made sure to go ahead and get both the signed bank information and a letter regarding my full-time employment (figuring it wouldn't take long for the consulate to receive our information). These are both dated over two months ago. We just received the letter from the consulate requesting information. Would the two previously mentioned documents still be valid at two months old? Should I request them again so the date is more recent?

  7. Thanks Scott.. but I have another stupid question to ask.. um will the officer ask me who is my lawyer if I made that up? Like if I said my lawyer said dah dah dah dah.. will the officer ask about my lawyer? Coz I do not have any.. thanks..I'll call them if by Friday I still don't hear anything or atleast a touch. Thank you.

No one will ask for you to prove it...the only reason for saying that is to play like an innocent little lamb gone astray from the heard and you can't find your way back :crying::crying::crying: It seens as though when you play dumb and are extremely nice they go out of their way to help and inform you...(just my opinion).

    Best of luck!!

    Scott

I second that. I called several times to "check on the status". Each time I was super nice and the officer was very helpful-even if they were just basically telling me to be patient. I don't think they understand how hard that is!!! <_<

  8. Any Canadians with children moving to the US? Anyone experience longer than normal processing time?

I'm just wondering, maybe a little impatient today, it snowed - sheesh!

It seems that our timelines are very similar and there are no children involved in our petition.

We are still waiting (impatiently) for our NOA2. It's taking forever!

  9. Thanks for the replies...I will call them back on Monday

Yep - the rep had the wrong case number. The rep I talked to on Monday told me that according to the 6 month processing time for CSC, our case was still inside the norm....

I really hope the vj timeline estimate is right, if so, we should be getting some good news this week or next!! :D

  10. Today it has been 122 days since our first NOA. I called yesterday and the csr told me our I-765-Application for Employment Authorization (NOT the I-129f) was approved and the approval form was mailed August 10. Okay, #1: I don't want to sound completely ignorant, but everything I've read suggests that we should apply for the I-765 after my fiance gets into the states with his visa. I wasn't even aware that we had applied for the I-765. #2: We didn't receive a hard copy. She told me that on Monday (30 days after the approval) I can call and they will send us another - and that's what I plan to do.

I'm just wondering, does anyone have any experience with this type of approval? About how long after this should we **tentively** expect to receive an NOA2?
