  1. Friends,

I'm looking for a person who'd help me with some translations from Mongolian-English. We have three school teachers coming from Monglia to Albany, NY to have a few meetings with American school teachers and administrators; this project is an exchange program for educators from the US and Eastern Europe/Asia. The dates are Oct22-Nov7; it'd be only few hours a day, and we'd like the person to have a farily good English but she/he doesn't have to be a professional translator. I worked for this program a few years ago when I was in grad school but then they only had teachers from Russia, so I could do it; now the project has many more participants and we're having troubles finding a Mongolian interpreter now.

If anybody is interested, please send me a message for more details.

    Thank you.

    Maria

  2. CRIS Mail - EAD card production ordered on 07/16. Wooooooohooooo.. Maybe, I will be able to get the drivers license before long after all :dance::dance:

Congratulations to you DanielParul and EVERYBODY ELSE WHOSE EAD OR GC WAS APPROVED :no: !!! I'M VERY HAPPY FOR ALL OF US!!!

AND THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR GREETINGS WITH MY GC!

Nick and I are moving to another apartment on Sat but we're allowed to bring our stuff little by little since Monday, so we've been busy and stressed because it's SOOO hot! But it's going to be over soon! And then, in three weeks, my family is coming to visit... so excited!!

    GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!

  3. What is in your marriage license? They had to ask you if you wanted to keep your maien name or to take your husband's last name? I don't think you can use any name you want though, you have to use only one of those. So, if when applyting for the marriage licnese you chose to change your name, it's already there and you don't have to go anywhere but just use it.

In my G-325A I used my new last name. When they ask any other name you used before, there you put your maiden name. Good luck :) !

  4. Congratulations on all April filers approvals :D ! Don't give up who's still waiting... I know how annoying and frustrarting it can get. In my case, first, I waited to ge my EAD to resume my driving, then I got it, renewed my permit... now I have to wait for another five weeks to take a road test! Crazy...!!!

I've been distructed with packing though. My husband and I are moving into a new, much bigger apartment this weekend, so I kept myself busy with getting ready to our first apt we've picked together (rented one but still :) )

Also- I literally was in a shock - I GOT A CRIS EMAIL THAT MY GREEN CARD PRODUCTION WAS ORDERED. Thanks got no RFE for my vaccination records (didn't submit it with the AOS.) ! Unbelievable... :D:jest: !!!

I wish everybody the fastes approvals and GOOD LUCK!!! Enjoy the summer!

  5. My fiancee says she caled the clinic today and they told her she can come in anytime between 9 and 12, they did not give her a time, an appointment time

I thought all of you had an appointment time when you went to the clinic

An appointment time as is "loosely" defined in Ukrainian culture....

It is first come - first served. While they attempt to serve everyone who presents themselves, if you arrive at 11:00AM and the line is out the door, you may not get processed...

I agree. Your fiancee has to arrive as early as she can because, if she comes in as late as 11am (as I did), she may not be able to register before 12, and then she'll need to come back some other time. Luckily, even though I came in late, I was the last one to register (I didn't worry a lot, either; my interview hadn't been scheduled yet.) Then, it took about three hours to take all the tests. I was given my medical's result shortly after I talked to the last doctor, around 3.30pm, and got out of there.

  6. Called the Call Center again this morning. 800 number not able to go into English. Called the "in Ukraine" number and again spoke to Thomas. He said yes, in fact our petiton was logged into the computer and we could schedule an interview. The first available date was August 19th and they had only one slot left for that day.

So, we are on for August 19th in Kiev.....

    John

    John,

Congratulations on your interview date! I'm sure it's going to be easy as it's been in Kiev for many of us. Good luck :) !

  7. Don't all the pics get sent to the Embassy? I thought we could bring more recent pics, email, etc. to the interview. I assumed the consular officer would have looked over everything in the packet before we sit down.

I don't know about the pics, but they definitely send the whole bunch of paperwork that you've submitted with your original application. While being interviewed, I remember seeing a big, fat folder in front of the Consulate officer with Nick's I129f form that had big red letters APPROVED stamped on it. I guessed there were pictures there as well but I had some photos as well.

    Good luck :) !

  8. Hello Everyone,

I am happy to say that we are scheduled for our interview in Kyiv on July 21, but I have a question about what we will need to present at the medical exam. Specifically my question is about the KEV case number. The information that I received from the embassy document indicates that we only need to present the KEV case number (see below),

Each applicant must present the following documentation:

    • Passport or other photo-bearing document as ID (both for children and adults)

    • 3 full frontal view photographs 50 x 50 mm

    • Military service card

    • Vaccination chart with the seal of the issuing clinic (mandatory for immigrants, optional for K visa applicants)

Embassy case number beginning with KEV

however when we called the Clinic for Oil-Refining Industry of Ukraine to make an appointment for the medical exam the receptionist told us that we must have a document that shows the KEV case number.

The problem is that I did not receive a document from the NVC with the case number so I had to call them and get the number by phone. I am now in Europe so I don't think that I can get this document from the NVC in time for the interview.

My question is, did those of you who have completed the medical exam have to show some specific document with the KEV case number to be admitted to the exam? If a document is necessary, does anyone have ideas about how I could get one before July 17? Thanks for you help with this.

    Grid

    Grid,

Don't worry about it. If you have KEV number, that's what you need. I didn't have any of those and had my medical done no problem. Just don't forget to call them beforehand to schedule the appointment.

Good luck for the interview! You must be super excited :) !!

  9. Can anyone tell me how many digits the PIN code is. I called this morning from the US and had extremely bad connections, but succeeding in paying for and obtaining a PIN. I then called to try and see if the case could be scheduled for an interview, but the connection is very poor and once I enter 6 or 7 digits, the reponse is that I have entered an incorrect pin, then i try again and the line goes dead - tried twice already. The PIN code I received is 12 digits long.

Also, I called the embassy in Kiev on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, had a terrible time getting someone to pick up the phone each time, but all three times the individual answering the phone appeared to actually look in the computer & tell me the case was not logged in yet. I call today, a women answers the phone, I ask the same question - she says they cannot answer that question over the phone, send an email. When I said they did it the last three days for me, she said someone had broken the rules and they are not allowed to asnwer that question over the phone........

    Thanks

    Hello

All was great today, not like last week

The 800 number is working fine

I tried the 12 digit PIN that the female operator gave me last week, the PIN that did not work last week, the PIN worked today believe or not

A very nice man not the female operator answered the phone and I scheduled the interview for August 13

Stay away from the female operator name Karina or Galina, I cant believe she told me the information regarding downloading the information packet is incorrect and that my fiancee must wait until she gets the packet in the mail and all the documents before she can call the embassy and schedule the interview.

hey 'muddy' - glad to hear you finally got through, and for the warning aoubt Karina/Galina..

Was August 13 the earliest date you could get an interview, or just the date you chose?

Also - how did you (or anyone) get your timeline to show on the bottom of your responses.

    thanks,

    Sean

    Sean,

To have your timeline on the bottom of the response, you have to go to My Assistant -- then to - Edit My Forum Signature. You have to type it in there, Save, and then we'll see that.

What I couldn't figure out, how to have your picture next to your nickname on forum? I can see you did that no problem. Any advice??

Why don't you just let a person in Ukraine to phone the number? I guess it'd be easier and they speak Russian/Ukrainian, too.

I honestly have never had any problems with the pin code but with those losers who were answering the phone, i.e. their extreme incompetence.

  11. DEAR ALL!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THE BIRTHDAY GREETINGS! We had fun that night - went out and had lots of margaritas for both my birthday and the EAD arrival (F) !!!

That day when I went to my DMV but I had forgotten my marriage license and, since the permit was issued to my maiden name and my EAD has my new last name on it, they wouldn't proceed... I couldn't get upset even if I wanted to... it was too nice of a day! I went back yesterday, and got my permit renewed and then we went driving around... I missed it so much! Now I'm ready to take a road test.... :)

To all of us - good luck! I hope everybody will get their EADs yet this week!!!!

    Masha

    Hey, Masha,

Lots of luck with your upcoming road test !!! And there couldn't be a better double celebration  !!! Good luck with your job hunting as well

    -daiva-

Thanks a lot, Daiva (F) ! I've been driving around like crazy (crazy happy, I mean!) It's raining around here, too, so I'm trying to not get super excited! Too dangerous... My husband says that I'm read for a road test though. I'll schedule it tomorrow....

I've been also looking for jobs. Even though I'm not planning to start working before October (I think,) I know I have to start a job search beforehand, so I'll see. Actually, Nick and I've suddenly decided to move into a new apartment - a bigger one, so I'm getting ready for this, too- cleaning, sorting out clothes, and taking care of all the packing while he's working. So many changes at once, it's so exciting!

Good luck to you, and everyone else :) !

  12. Hi,

My fiancee did not receive the packet 3 in the mail...so I downloaded it online. However now to schedule the interview they are asking me for a case number that I do not have...It begins with KEV where can I find this number?

    Thanks

If you're sure that the case has been delivered to the Embassy (and you don't have your NVC case number), call them and insist on checking by her last name. That what I did. They couldn't find by NVC# but found it after I gave them my last name.

    Good luck!

  13. Hey mariapoe, Happy Birthday and Congratulations on the EAD...:dance::dance:

  14. As I once read here, if your case gets touched and you don't get an email, it means that they're just working on it (may be, sometimes, simply moving your folder from one desk to another) but the status of your case remains the same.

When I was waiting for my I-129F approval, I had no idea about touches so I wasn't checking. Unlike now, when I'm - as many others - do obsessively check our cases for touches three-four times a day :):P . By the way, our I-129F case had never been touched before it was approved, no single touch!

Good luck with your journey For K-1 filers, things are movin so much faster now :) !!!

  15. The same happened to me. I'm in NYS. IF ONLY I knew that they'd put my I-94 expiration date on my permit, I'd file for AOS much earlier (we filed almost a month after we got marred.) Nobody had to warn me about it, obviously, but I though it'd be good to put somewhere in BIG RED LETTERS (somewhere into the guides on this website for soon-AOS-filers/newly weds) to know that in some states it happens.

I stopped driving May 22 and I'm anxiuosly waiting for my EAD. Can be here any day now, may be even today....

  16. Your timeline says that you've filed today. Good luck :) !!!

When it happened that you've described? Did you have to re-take your whole medical? Didn't you have one for the K-1 Visa interview? At least you can be sure that you're not going to get a RFE for your vaccination like I probably will :) - I didn't submit any vaccination information because I couldn't figure out what shots were missing, so couldn't go ahead and complete it. Sorry to hear and to know that they keep making lots of money on us... but it is what it is.

Once again, good luck! This journey is much more fast-speed and less stressful than K-1 process.

  17. i see our april filer are finally getting a lot moving and actions...that's good to see...so i got 2 cris emails for EAd card productions on 6/16 and 6/19...anybody know what that means....

i think may of us get two of those emails. people report that it's not unusual. what it means (probably) that they didn't start working on the "production" of the EAD card after the first email but hopefully got into it after the second  .
