  2. We just got the social security number in the mail today!! YAY

  3. After we picked up Visa/Passport we went to the Hotel and paid the USCIS fee for the green card it was $220.00. Once it was paid we packed up checked out and headed to the US ( we drove). We crossed into the US on 08/11/2021. Everything went smoothly. We are now home and waiting for the green card.

  4. Picked up passport and visa today.... YAY

  5. Remember that you must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you receive your immigrant visa and before you travel to the United States, Just saw this on the nvc interview 12 step process (after the interview). I think at this time it is 220.00 US Dollars,

  6. 2nd interview this morning documents asked for US citizen birth certificate ORGINALS and prior divorce papers for US citizen and parent of child ORGINALS. VISA APPROVED!!!!!! YAY!!!!

  7. Today was our 1st interview. We arrived 1 hour before our appt, like we were told at fingerprint and photo. The lines are long plan to be inside 2-3 hours. If you are a hungry person eat good before you go. Documents that they asked for today was DS- 260 Confirmation page, Marriage Certificate ORIGINAL AND COPY, passport for stepchild, & birth certificate and translation ORIGINAL. 2nd appt is tomorrow. There was some people who only had copies of their documents. US EMBASSY ONLY WANTS ORIGINALS!!!!  Remember if you are filing based on marriage or stepchild your Marriage License ORIGINAL OR CERTIFIED COPY IS A MUST!! The Embassy is requesting 2020 Taxes!!

Make sure to wear the correct attire you are going to an EMBASSY INTERVIEW your not going to the store.

You can wear a belt, not big belt buckles.

NO CELL PHONES AT THE EMBASSY!

  8. OH  and don't worry... next to fingerprint and photo is a place where they take your photos passport size 120 pesos mexicanos and the can check your documents before the interview. Plus they update and scan in you I-864, I 864A  we paid $150 US Dollars. Or they can do whatever you need.

  9. So for all you DIY we just found out that you must have an updated I 864 no matter how new or old the first I 864 is. It must be scanned and updated to your CEAC login you also must take it with you to the interview. We got the email from the Embassy the day before requesting this information. Don't forget your W2 if your 1099 don't forget your Schedule C,D,E.   We have run into a couple of people here and have exchanged stories Someone brought the short form Birth Certificate is was denied because it must be the LONG FORM. They have been waiting here in Juarez 2 months now trying to get it straight. Someone else forget proof of domicile for the US Citizen. Remember you must have Proof of Address...

  10. Keep in mind that the US Embassy in Juarez is doing 2 Interviews due to Covid 19 this will be between 1-3 days after your first interview.

Make plans for travel to be here between 7-15 days. Remember the US Embassy only works Monday- Friday.

In other words if you set you medical Monday, fingerprints and photo on Tuesday, and have your 1st Embassy interview on Wed your 2nd Interview can be anywhere from Thursday- Mon. Then if your waiting to pick up your Visa here in Juarez that is another 1-3 days on a best outcome. Hotels book up very quickly here. If you do on internet with enough time you can very good prices. We booked at an extended stay paid 734 pesos/night about 39 US Dollars. If you just show up and try to get a room it is 1,800 pesos a night almost 100 US Dollars. The extended stay does have a kitchen but does not have any cooking ware, dishes or utensils. Only has cooktop electric for (2) 8 inch pans, microwave, and refrigerator. NO COFFEE POT for the coffee lovers but there is a Starbucks in walking distance. I brought all my stuff from my house including my Keurig and k-cups. Oh and for those who like creamer International Delight you need to bring it with you from El Paso they don't sell it here in Mexico.

  11. Medical exam was done yesterday, appt 6 a.m. - 9 a.m. ( medical shuttles pass to several hotels picking up applicants to take them to the appt if you don't want to walk or drive)

Fingerprints and photo done today, we got there 5 mins til appt time and were in and out 20 mins tops

It's best if you set up your appts on different days so you don't miss an appt. The lines are long and yes everything is by your appt time so no need to get there more than 15 mins before your appt. ( medical and fingerprints/photos)

We were advised at photos and fingerprints to be at the US Embassy for our appt 1 hour before time.
