  1. I've no idea about that test, lol since i been here in the US i never had to go to a civil surgeon. i got my 10 years greencard without any test from civil surgeon here in the US. All i have was my copy of the vaccination supplement from the philippines which i submitted during my aos process. Tapos during the interview my medical expired already, pero di naman sila nagtanong at naghanap. Ewan kung bakit, baka sinwerte lang siguro ako. but i did get the vaccination for tetanus kasi sa st. luke di nila binigay sakin yun, dito ko na raw kunin sa US. pumunta lang ako sa local clinic namin dito tapos yun nagpabakuna ako for tetanus, 8 dollars lang bayad.
  2. Yes i just got right now my 10 years greencard. Goodbye USCIS see you in december 2009 for my citizenship...Thank God its done for now.

Can you give us a timeline? I'm trying to bolster the spirits of a friend of mine who filed her's a few months ago.

    Congrats.

2006-12-19= arrive in the US with k3 visa

2007-07-30= send aos in chicago lockbox ( did not apply for ead and ap)

    2007-09-06= noa 1 recieve

    2007-10-1= biometrics done

2007-10-20= rfe recieved asking for a co-sponsor( given 87 days to return the rfe with the co-sponsor papers)

2008-02-26- we return the rfe without the co-sponsor instead we return it with my husband recent w2, rfe reply was longer than 87 days, being stubborn, lol

2008-05-05= interview done, did not get the stamp on my passport because the interviewer said she need to check my husband income if they will accept the w2 since his income the time we submitted the rfe was below the poverty limit thats why they send the rfe for co sponsor but we reply with w2

    2008-05-30= recieve my greencard, finally!

  3. Last May 5 was my aos interview and i also did not get my passport stamped. The interviewer did get my I-94 and i ask her why she take my I-94 and did not give me any stamp. And she said, i don't need it because i have an entry stamp on my passport aside from my I-94. And she said i could use that and no need for her to stamp my passport, but she never really tell me im approve. She said she need to check my husband's tax return income the one that we submitted because its below the poverty limit and we got an rfe for that asking to get a joint sponsor. But my husband and i are being stubborn we never get any co-sponsor so we forgot about the rfe for like 5 months until we got my husband recent w2 and that's what we submitted instead of a co-sponsor, lol. Very late rfe reply and not the one they are asking. But just a week after we submit our rfe back, we got our interview date already, no question ask about the very late rfe reply. And on march 22, card production is ordered already. now im just waiting for the greencard. hopefully it will be here soon.
  4. If you are married less than 2 years, the gc will be good for 2 years but if you are married more than 2 years the gc is good for 10 years. I check my status online last night and the card production is on my status already.

We just received my hubby's green card too! We're very excited. Anyway, I was a little confused about the "conditional resident" status versus "permanent resident" status. I've read elsewhere that you have to apply to lift conditions after 2 years. But his green card didn't say anything about it being conditional--it just says "permanent resident'. Anyone else know more about that?

p.s. FYI, we got the approval email but no "card production" email either.

  5. Hi Mae, the reason it took so long for my gc is because we recieve the rfe for the affidavit of support since my husband income was below the poverty limit on his tax return that we submitted for the aos, they actually gave 87 days for me to reply to them. Actually they are asking to get a co-sponsor, but we never get a co-sponsor. What we did is we waited for my husband's w2 for the current year and it exceeds the poverty limit with just a little slide, lol. We then sent it back 2 months after the 87 days due date of my rfe. We thought it will be a problem and really we was worried they will deny me because of the late rfe but then just a few days after they got the rfe reply, i got my interview date already. So actually its not their fault that my gc is taking so long, its basically me and my husband's fault. But im happy they did not question the very late reply on the rfe.

oh yes sorry, yep that was july 2007.

Congrats to you. When did you file for AOS?

I filed my aos last july 2006. The day before the fee increase.

 I guess you meant July 2007 right?

Wow, what took your GC so long? I filed the same time you did (4 before the fee increase) and got my greencard since Dec. 2007. Anyhow, congrats! Finally!

that's weird coz i never recieve an e-mail about card production. I only have a status online saying they mailed the welcome notice.

ADIT processing is just included in the letter as a standard thing, it doesn't mean anything in most cases, so don't worry.

First there is "Card Production Ordered" email, that means your AOS has been approved and they are making a card for you.

Then there is the "Welcome Notice" email, that's when you get a letter in the mail "Welcoming the new permanent resident".

The last notification is the "Approval notice," that is the letter that has the green card in it.

    Here is our Timeline:

Sept 18, 2007: Email, Card Production Ordered

Sept 19, 2007: Email, Welcome Notice Sent

Sept 25, 2007: Welcome Notice Received

Sept 26, 2007: 3 Emails, Approval Notice Sent

Sept 28, 2007: Green Card Received!

You must have missed it somehow because I did receive "Card Production Ordered" too before the welcome notice.

  7. I was a k3 visa holder, when we filed my aos, we never do any medical again coz we did it already during my visa process and like you its good for 1 year. what we do submit is the vaccination record and thats all. i had my interview just last may 8, 2008 for my aos and during the interview my medical has expired already. it expired last november of 2007. But they never really question it and i never hear any question about medical during my interview. I don't know why but im glad they never question it.

  8. thought i would share my aos interview experience.

i had my interview last may 5, 2008 at 10:10 am. we was there very early so we just sit and wait. my schedule was 10:10 am and they call me at 11. kind of a long wait. The interviewer is a nice lady. she ask for my passport and my husband's identification. She take out the I-94 and started asking me those no answer questions from the original I-485 that we filed. She ask for a couple of proof that me and my husband are still living together. she only looked at the picture and ask me who are the people in the pictures. She don't really ask anything to my husband but my husband wants to talk and sometimes he would answer even if he was not ask, lol. after like 3 or 5 minutes she told me we're done and good. But i did not get the stamp on my passport, she said she need to check my husband's 2006 year tax return which is below the poverty limit and yes we got an rfe for that before we even make it to the interview. But we did not get a co-sponsor, we just sent my husband's 2007 w2 which exceed the 2006 poverty limit. The interviewer wants to check if she could pass us by just using the w2 so thats why we never get the stamp on my passport. We was dissapointed but still happy because she said if she needs anything she will send a mail and we dont have to come back to the building. we can just mail it. and today may 21, 2008 when i check my status on the uscis website, it says that they register my new permanent resident number and mail the welcome notice. But i never get the welcome notice yet. I think my adjustment is approve, thats what im thinking. but i will never be sure not until i got the greencard in my hand.

  9. ok i been reading a lot here about card production notice so that means their greencard is approve. Today i got an e-mail from the uscis that say like this.

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On May 20, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register

Does it mean i was approve and that i will recieve my green card? it does mention about Adit processing, what is it? i've done interview and biometrics already. Should i expect another notice about the card production thing? can someone enlighten me on this. thanks

  10. oh they told me the same thing too when i called up uscis. but then after 3 days from the day i talked to someone from uscis via phone of course, i got my noa already then after a week i got my biometrics schedule. i dont know if they are really telling the truth about the semi truck. i think thats kind of exaggerating...on the uscis site it says that they are now processing applications that was sent august 15. so i think they overcome the backlog now but still say the same thing on the phone...God bless everyone
