Am also filing for my parents their dq was last June. I got their case expedite a month ago still no interview date yet I email the embassy a couple time they said Consular Section remains closed for routine services until further notice to help control the spread of COVID-19.  We do not currently know when the Consular Section will be able to resume providing routine services, including immigrant visa service. Also their police record expired and I was told renew it, so for those who police record will expired soon I suggest you try to renew it now because it takes a some time

My MIL just got her Police report last week. I hope it doesn't take a year to get an interview date. I can't believe it's been almost a year since you have been waiting for a date!

Hi there, welcome to the team!

Regularly, it used to be 3 months but now currently, we don't know what is going on due to the Covid pandemic.  Right now, I believe they are doing cases that were cancelled last year and it was mentioned that they should be interviewing persons who were DQ in July 2020.

    When were you DQ?

Wow! I first went through this process in 2016. I submitted my I-130 Application in February 2016 and my husband was interviewed in September 2016. We are at the nvc stage now for his mother and I know this pandemic slowed things down, but didn't know it was this much of a delay of almost a year. Was hoping she would be here by summer. It doesn't look like that's possible at all.

  3. Hi, I am new here and have a quick question. I am filing for my mother. My wife and I file Joint taxes. My mother is the only one that's migrating. My income alone is sufficient to file for my mother. I think I might qualify to use the I-864ez but not sure if because we file joint taxes then I would need  to fill out the i-864 my and my wife fill out the i-864a.
